Allen Ford - Never again will I buy a car from them
Having had a few cars from Allen Ford in Upminster, not to mention a number of my wife’s family I obtained a new Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Hybrid Ultimate from Allen Ford UK trading as Upminster Hyundai (LD) in 2025. At the time I was also asked if I would like to take out a service plan to help spread the cost of services. I did and thought no more of it. My Hyundai has been a great car, and I am extremely pleased with it.
However, early 2026, Allen Ford closed down Upminster Hyundai (AUH) without any real explanation. So, that was a blow as I thought it is just round the corner when I needed it serviced! The time came to arrange a first-year service, so went online and was pointed to Allen Brentwood Kia (ABK), they accepted my booking, so all fine I thought. Today I thought I would pop in to ABK just to confirm:
A) my booking date/time
B) my service contract was all in place to cover the cost
Booking all confirmed, but an issue with the service contract! They would not be able to use the service contract to pay for the works because the agreement is only in place for a Hyundai UK franchise and in no way implicates Allen Ford: But in my defence
1) 2025 AUH sold me the contract (there was never a discussion as to what would happen if they terminated their franchise with Hyundai or vice versa)
2) 2026 The franchise agreement was terminated (don’t know by which party, certainly not by me)
So, on that basis, I spoke to the Sales Manager at ABK and he confirmed their stance, because they wouldn’t get paid if they were to undertake the service; but I could pay them to have it done if I wanted! All he said is that I would need to take it to a Hyundai franchise!
I questioned Allen Ford customer services with him, which he stated they had a great customer service. So, I then asked if he would get someone from his company to pick up my car, take it to a dealer (nearest Basildon or Southend) who can and is happy to assist, then drop it back to me? His reply didn’t surprise me, it just confirmed they are not interested in keeping customers happy, as he said no. In fact, there was absolutely no offer of any help (or customer service) from him!
I appreciate things change and often extremely hard decisions have to be taken, but to totally neglect their customers from Upminster Hyundai is unquestionably inexcusable and people need to be warned so they can vote with their feet. You try to support local companies and this is how you are repaid!
Anyway, I contacted Toomey Hyundai Basildon who have confirmed my service contract can and will be used and also arranged for a service date earlier than FBK accepted originally because they understood my total exasperation and disbelief of the issue and wanted to do all they could to put a bad experience right. Just shows not all companies are only after your money!

The right car was found for my needs (disabled) and the whole process was helped by knowledgable and helpful staff (Lily and LIsa). Very pleased with our car so far. Very pleased with the whole experience.
Great customer service
I recently visited Allen Ford in Kettering looking to purchase a Chery Tiggo 8, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, sales executive Michael Jones made us feel completely at ease. He was brilliant throughout the entire process , knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely focused on helping us find the right car. Highly recommended!

I visited Allen Ford in Warwick today - been before recently for a service but popped back today - no appointment was made - to see if I could speak to someone about buying another car. Megan was on reception and happily made all the time that was required to sit and talk through my requirements.
I work in sales and Megan demonstrated that people really do buy from people. She was simply brilliant. confident, listened, gave me no pressure, open and honest and knew her stuff. I am yet to buy but almost certain that I will. She is a credit to your company. Keep hold of her because when I do decide to buy I want to buy from Megan.

I booked into for a full service and MOT and people told me I had over paid quite severely. I went with them as I liked the brand.
However during the service they found issues, not a problem it happens. I paid for 2 our of 3 items needed at again a high price.
Upon arrival to pick up my vehicle I expected after overpaying the going rate to atleast have a clean car inside and out. It was in a worst state inside than when I left it.
Also they then offered a discounted rate for the item I didnt get done the next day. Just proving how much they overcharge to begin with. Making me think about buying from them again after no loyalty shown.

Made the mistake thinking a main dealer wouldn't scam you but they have. Put a £250 deposit on a newly launched Kia pv5 at the Nuneaton branch. Happily waiting 6 weeks and popped in a paid the rest of the deposit (18k) with delivery the next day and collection a further 2 days on only to fail. Reading Facebook and the delays I cancelled as needed a vehicle. 2 weeks on still no full refund as promised and no contact. Disappointing never supporting a local dealer again
Crap services
I contacted Allen Ford Riverside Northampton, back in Dec 2025, to try and put a order in for a Ford Kuga ST Line X on the mobility scheme, my details were taken but no one contacted me. I called few times and sent emails but no contact from them. Just before Christmas someone did eventually answer and told me to call in the new year, I explained that the deposit price will increase in the new year and I’d like to pay the deposit for the current quarter that it’s set at. Only to be told I won’t need to and I’ll have to call back. Very disappointed. Anyway, I ended up getting a Kia Sportage AWD 4x4 in flame blue. I realised FORD really means F-fix O-or R-repair D-daily as I’ve seen so many Kuga broken down since I got the Kia.
Excellent customer service
Just booked my Mustang Dark Horse in for a 1000 mile oil change and dashboard speaker replacement at Allen Ford Warwick - they really looked after me and gave me the Service Managers car to loan for the day as there were no courtesy cars available - the technician (Anthony Harber) did a brilliant job and the service receptionist (Katheryn Pinfold) gave superb customer service

I purchased a Ford Transit Courier from the Northampton branch. From the initial contact to the collection of the vehicle Lauren was great and answered all my questions.
She arranged for me to test drive the vehicle and sorted out the purchase of the van keeping me advised at all stages.
Lauren picked me up from the station when I collected the vehicle and from my experiences of buying vans went above and beyond. The van was in super condition and serviced and valeted before I collected. Altogether a great buying experience from Allen Ford
My daughters recent service came to…
My daughters recent service came to over £450.00, £82.50 of which was to clean out a blocked washer nozzle that we knew about. They word things as such to suggest things are included which are not. They don't learn from past critisism and this goes back many years. They also scare monger customers in such a way with the worst case scenario's. It's not good practice and not a good indicator of quality!
Recently purchased a Ford Puma
Recently purchased a Ford Puma. We cannot fault the service given to us by Andi Beau Holmes’s at the Coventry dealership.
Everything was explained as we went through it and although there was problems with the DVLA she handled everything professionally.
We would definitely purchase again as the service was excellent.

Allen Ford Romford - Avoid if at all possible.

Went to test drive and buy a Focus in the morning.
When we arrived there were only two salesmen, one was locked in and we had to wait for the other to come back from a test drive.
He then gave us the keys so we could have a look at the car before our test drive. He said excuse the slight mess, another salesman had just dropped it off earlier this morning, it would be valeted properly later. The car had been listed there for weeks so this was quite odd.
Upon inspection it was clear that the car had not been dropped that morning as it was blocked in by several cars and still had raindrops on it from overnight rain.
Furthermore, it was in the worst state of any car I have ever seen whilst trying to be sold. It was full of rubbish, bashed up with scratches and marrings, the floor liner was loose, floor mats were missing (advertised with floor mats), vape cartridges everywhere, lucazade bottles, boot was full of stuff and more rubbish, and to top it off, the car stank of cigarette smoke.
It was like someone had taken it out for a joyride. It blows my mind that they thought it would be okay to try and sell that to a customer, particularly at that price. Even more frustratingly we had driven for over an hour to view the vehicle.
The service was terrible. The car was terrible. Everything was in a complete state. Avoid if at all possible.

Fantastic dealers
We brought our car from ford northampton couldn't be more happier . We used these 3 times now and love how helpful they are the person we like dealing with called Sid he goes above and beyond . The car we chose was in another area they arranged it to be delivered to them in the week we was contacted and arranged test drive we loved car and all of the sales people and bosses were great with our 2 yr old who loved running around and exploring showroom . Sid filled all paper work out for us and arranged 3 days insurance etc he very friendly person cares about his customers it really shows they were so helpful would use again and highly recommend them too
Allen Ford Warwick, fantastic
Allen Ford Warwick, what a pleasurable experience. I purchased 2 Ford Kuga ST lines from them. The salesman was Lee Tallet and he was fantastic to deal with, there was no pressure every question was answered in a very pleasurable way. The paperwork process was easy, and completed in a very relaxed way, over a cup of coffee. Lee at no time put any pressure on us, and was quite happy to let us look at the cars 2 or 3 times before we made the final decision. If I could I would give 5 stars to Lee, and 5 stars to the whole of Allen Ford Warwick the whole team were friendly, and really made you feel comfortable. All I can say is the whole experience, from purchase to collection of the cars was enjoyable.
Service what service
Just because you have an email confirming date and time for service. Do an online check in 2 days before and phone up the branch to confirm they have the parts doesn't mean they will actually know about the booking! Arrived as planned today (took time off work for a while you wait) and they didn't know anything about it! The manager was conveniently on holiday so couldn't talk to anyone else either. Avoid!
