An absolutely fantastic experience to have done. I did think of doing this on our own, but what a disaster it would have been for someone like me with no mountaineering experience. Cannot praise Chris and Nic enough. Crystal clear with the instructions and expectations and they were absolutely bang on every time (what layers to put on when, what food to have and when, when to rest, what to watch out for, how to push etc etc). They basically took care of every detail and leave you to worry about.. just the climbing.. I was really lucky with the group I had.. super supportive and not to mention a very timely supply of ibuprofen from a kind neighbour for my dodgy knee..
Re the challenge itself, dont think you need any specific mountaineering skills (I dont), yes, a certain minimum level of fitness I guess, but the most important thing (and know its a cliche) is to just put one foot after the next. There were times when legs felt like jelly and you really want to take a breather, but you follow the guy in front of you.. push .. and the thrill and reward of finishing is priceless.

We can't thank Chris and Nic enough for the amazing experience we had completing the Nation 3 Peaks Challenge. Everything was brilliantly planned and logistics ran smoothly. Most importantly, the motivation they gave was excellent, helping us to keep on going when the challenge seemed insurmountable (literally!). We recommend Active Mountaineering to anyone wanting to tackle the challenge. Thank you Chris and Nic!

I write this review with tears in my eyes (happy tears) Chris & Nic are incredible mountain guides and people (yes Chris even with the jokes your still awesome) Nic is an absolute firecracker she knows what you need and when even when you don’t. They guided us through the 24hour challenge seamlessly not one hiccup everything was run with military precision! It’s tough it’s brutal and it will push you to the limit but with Chris & Nic by your side you can do it (even when you think you can’t) A special mention to Al on Ben Nevis thank you for prizing me off a rock when the panic and fear set in, I wouldn’t of moved another step if it wasn’t for you! Your words of wisdom stayed with me through the entire challenge! Phil and all the guides that accompanied us up Scafell and Snowdon your knowledge and support was incredible!
I can’t recommend these guys enough! The memories will last a lifetime! Can’t wait to be back on the top of mountains with you all ❤️

Cannot recommend Chris and Nic enough to anyone thinking of doing the national three peaks challenge. The amount of planning and precision they put into it is unlike nothing I've known, they stop at nothing to make sure as many people as possible succeed! Genuinely don't think I could have done this without their support and passion and I am already booking on to go to Mount Toubkal and Kilimanjaro with them next year.

Mount toubkal what a superb experience. Having Chris and Nic, whose company it is, there with you leaves nothing to chance as they are on hand to make sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. Their enthusiasm, commitment and passion for what they do is incomparable. They want you to enjoy yourself as an individual and also as a group. When it comes to the climb your safety is paramount to them and their professionalism comes to the fore. They are excellent at motivating you to achieve what ultimately you are there for, getting to that summit. Would recommend this trip and this company to anyone

Unbelievable experience with Chris and Nic at active mountaineering climbing toubkal in Morocco.

From start to finish was incredible. Brilliantly run as ever and just like when I done the 3 peaks with Chris and Nic it was a hell of an experience.

Would recommend anyone wanting to challenge themselves climbing mountains domestically or abroad to get in touch with active mountaineering. You won't be disappointed.

Couldn't recommend this company enough. Just got back from climbing Mount Toubkal in Morocco with Chris and Nic and had the trip of a lifetime. From start to finish absolutely everything was organised and taken care of so you didn't have to worry about anything. Chris and Nic make you feel really safe and well looked after for the whole week as well as making the trip so memorable for everyone. We all had an absolute ball, never stopped laughing and were surrounded by like minded people. I couldn't fault it. I've already booked to do the National 3 Peaks challenge with them and looking to book Kilimanjaro as soon as I can. No better company to organise your adventures with!

I have been on 3 challenges now with this company and every time have been amazing. I have been on the national three peaks, Yorkshire 3 peaks and best of all the Atlas Mountains trek!!!! Just amazing from start to finish. Well run, great support and even taken my son on the treks as well. My partner came on the last trip with me(he has used other companies) and said this was the best organised trip he had ever been on. Now planning Everest base camp. Just get booked on!

Where do I honestly start !! This trip was without a doubt one of the best experiences of my life, from the moment I landed in Morocco Chris and Nic were there taking care of things and ensuring that everything ran smoothly, the experience itself is like no other and exceeded all my expectations, there are NO hidden costs at all which took the pressure of me for tips, meals and water supply which allowed me to focus on the climb, Chris and Nic have a real desire to help you achieve what you came to accomplish and this is the reason why everyone in our group summited Mount Toubkal ! The 3 days in Marrakech after the climb was a great opportunity to relax and enjoy Morocco with new friends - I have walked away from this experience with a lifetime of memories, this is incredible value for money and I honestly don't believe that anyone could give you a better experience than Active Mountaineering !! Thank you Chris and Nic for making everything simply perfect !!

Completed the inaugural Ultimate 3 Peaks Challenge this week, having done the National 3 Peaks a year ago.
Chris & Nic are absolute legends - everything is spot on: the training plans, the logistics, the briefings for each mountain, the words of encouragement, the kicks up the behind when needed and most importantly the laughs. They know how to get you across the line within the allotted time and will do everything to enable each and every one on the bus to achieve it - sometimes that involves some blunt words, but always delivered with humour and a desire to see everyone succeed. Their expertise and passion for the mountains comes shining through and if you share their determination you'll have no better chance of conquering these challenges and learning about yourself in the process.

After completing the National 24 hours last year and the Ultimate 9 peak challenge this year, I Can’t fault Chris and Nic’s service in any way!
Their knowledge of the mountains and desire for you to achieve what you came for in your given challenge is second to none, and they even use every spare moment they can to get to know everyone in the group.
From the very start of the trip we were instructed on all the common mistakes that cost time (of which they know every one) and dos and don’ts during the challenge, and that minutes matter!
You may feel like your being lectured, but you’ll understand their no nonsense approach when you see someone cross the finish line after 24 hours with minutes to spare!
You’ll also see for yourself at the end of your challenge that they run them the way they do because they genuinely want you to achieve your goal!
So If you want to complete a challenge like this, I don’t believe anyone can give you a better shot at it than Chris and Nic at Active Mountaineering!

Chris & Nic are the most incredible and dedicated guides ever! I say guides but really they become your friends almost immediately. They are so personable and care deeply about everyone’s challenge and making it within the timeframes. I’ve completed the National 3 peaks with them 3 times and this year I did the Ultimate 3 peaks challenge. They put so much effort and energy into it, I honestly can’t believe they do these challenges every weekend! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! No other company can beat the service these two offer.

They make it clear from the start that you have signed up for a challenge and therefore they keep a tight schedule and the motivational tactics are exactly what is needed to give everyone the best chance of completing within 24 hours

Without a doubt, the toughest challenge I’ve ever been a part of, I’d have never made the 24 hours if it wasn’t for the amazing Chris and Nic. The 24 hours consisted of a few strops and a few mental blocks but also a whole lot of laughs! I wouldn’t have wanted to have done it with any other company, hugely recommend Active Challenge ❤️

If you really want to push yourself, both physically and mentally, then the National Three Peaks within 24 hours is the challenge for you! I cant recommend Chris and Nic highly enough - their no nonsense approach ensured that we completed the challenge within the time limits and despite, at the time, wanting to batter them with your walking poles, they were incredibly motivating and really created that 'team spirit' that you need to help you through something like this. I have taken on challenges in the past on my own without using an organised group such as Active Mountaineering, and never again - they were worth every penny :)

24hours 3 Peaks. Guides were on it, pushed everyone hard to achieve the goal and kept everyone safe at all times Be prepared to have to climb fast to achieve the challenge and take what you are undertaking seriously...it is the mountains after all.

Thank you to Nic & Chris who provided us with this challenge. We come across a couple of hurdles which was out of their control and added time onto our journey. One was a fatal road accident between Ben Nevis & Scafell Pike, the coach driver knew about it and done a 84mile detour. With this included, they still managed to push us and get us to summit all 3 mountains and get down within the 24hours.
The guides they have on each mountain are very experienced & friendly. You never feel unsafe, and they are constantly motivating you along the way.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
There is alot of logistics behind the scenes which Nic & Chris deal with, all to get everyone over the line in under 24hours.
