Completing the national 3 peaks in 24 hours is one of my best achievements and there were moments I wasn’t sure I could carry on but with Nic and Chris on side it was a victory. Not an easy one at all but both Nic and Chris know these mountains inside out and they are the best to get you where you need to be, they will push you all the way, be mentally and physically prepared and this is the company to go with!
The sense of achievement and being part of their team was fantastic! I would recommend anyone booking with Chris and Nic if you are turkey wanting to complete this challenge on time!

Just completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in 23 hours with Active Mountaineering. This was made possible by Chris and Nic's top class guidance throughout the weekend. From start to finish, they offered great advice and made the entire group feel comfortable and ready for the challenge. They clearly possess extensive knowledge and experience of the mountains as well as what it takes to get around in under 24 hours. A lot of effort goes into planning these challenges and Active Mountaineering are head and shoulders above the rest.

Really great weekend with Nic and Chris who were the PERFECT guides. They run a tight ship to get everyone to the finish line in time - they know what they are doing and are super encouraging and approachable. I was hesitant booking with a company to be honest as was keen to do it independently but I'm really glad we went with Active Mountaineering as all their advice during the briefing was invaluable - they've thought everything through so you don't have to - it's hard enough to do the challenge without the hassle of logistics. Highly recommend if you're wanting to do the national 3 peaks challenge in the properrrr 24hr time - no fudging average travel times or messing about in service stations 😊

I did the 24hr three peaks challenge and Chris and Nic were superbly organised, very experienced and briefed us well to make the experience a great weekend, you regularly pass other groups doing the same challenge and we were ahead of them all.

Chris and Nic were excellent. What an experience it was too, couldn't fault the set up of the challenge, the support a long the way and the laughs throughout the weekend.

My partner and I successfully completed the National Three Peaks with this company recently. Nic (lady) and Chris (guy) were extremely helpful from the outset and answered all our many questions by text prior to meeting with them. I would say the following –
Safety - Undoubtedly, they are both dedicated to their business and show a professional and sincere care for those for whom they have responsibility on the mountains. This was extended to other hikers in the mountains who appeared to be in distress. Nic and Chris know their way around the mountains, and they are well qualified to be able to do so. We were also always accompanied by several other qualified local mountain guides on the journey. Safety on mountains, particularly at night and in mist, is paramount and this company gained top mark in our opinion.
Inspiration and Encouragement – All members of the group attempting this challenge received enormous amounts of encouragement. Nic and Chris were ever attentive to those struggling a little (as we all did at times) and were quick to offer inspirational words and practical encouragement to help us along. Chris and Nic also possess an abundance of energy and a wicked sense of humour which helped tremendously during the whole of this challenge. Don’t expect the softly-softly approach from Chris. He won’t take you by the hand. He is a scouser and passionate about what he does. He will get you up and down safely – but in doing so might use language which may make a trooper blush. Nic is a lovely lady and provided much gentler, but equally effective, encouragement. Taken together, these methods worked in getting everyone in the group up and down the mountains safely and within the 24 hours.
Timing – The timing was admirable throughout. They know the timings required for this event inside out which enabled all members of the group complete the challenge within 24 hours. Their aim is to get ALL IN THE PARTY to complete the challenge within 24 hours, and they did. Their aim is not to cater for anyone wishing to complete the challenge in a short period of time at the expense of anyone in the group failing. Managing to get all members of the group over the finish line within 24 hours was a terrific achievement and hats off to Nic and Chris for their part in achieving this.
Organisation – Really, this was flawless throughout.
Overall, I couldn’t recommend this company highly enough. They are just made for this job. We had a terrific time, and my partner is thinking about her next challenge with them – and she is fussy! A great atmosphere and a great success.

If you want the best chance of completing the national 3 peaks in 24 hours in a safe, fun, well-organised, and no-nonesense way, make sure you book with Active Mountaineering. Chris, Nic and all of the guides who joined us during the challenge have this working like a well-oiled machine and it's clear they really care about what they're doing. They make no apologies for being up front about how tough this challenge is but their balance of tough love & much-needed encouragement make sure you're able to get up and down all 3 peaks in 24 hours if you've put in the training and stick with the pace. They come in much cheaper than many 3 peaks companies yet it's clear they don't cut any corners - in fact it seems to me that they're the most serious company out there when it comes to this challenge. It's a tough experience but well worth it. I'll definitely be considering doing different challenges with through Active Mountaineering in the future. If you really want to do the 3 peaks in 24 hours then this is the company for you. We saw plenty of other groups doing the ‘24 hour challenge’ but started before us and finished after. They don’t mess around so expect it to be tough but they are highly experienced, well organised and have everything you need to get you through (including a sense of humour). If you go fast enough on Ben Nevis you might even be allowed to stop for a KFC!!
All in all a great trip. Now looking to book other challenges with them.

If your serious about the 24 hr 3 peaks challenge and want to do it the way its suppose to be done (erm in 24hrs) then this is the company to go for !!! I echo the reviews on Nic and Chris from the reviews prior they were quite simply fantastic as were the other participants but for me it was the little things that Nic and Chris do in this challenge that get overlooked 1. 3 separate driver to maintain full speed. 2. They had everything from blister plasters to strapping to keep the participants patched up and 3. An endless supply of water which was vital to all of us . They keep the moral high from hour 1 till hour 24 .What I'm trying to say is save your phone battery from searching other companies and just read the reviews and book these !!!

I would definitely recommend.. straight talking, no fluff. They deliver exactly as promised, 3 peaks 24hrs. Really well organized, safe and knowledgeable. Great guides and the like minded people you meet on this challenge support and encourage each other. I absolutely loved it and will be doing more with Active Mountaineering.

Couldn’t have asked for a better company to do the 3 peaks challenge in 24 hours with. Nic and Chris are the perfect mix of motivational, knowledgable and they know how to keep your spirits up when the going gets tough!

From the start Chris and Nic were really organised, keeping us up to date with information.
This continued throughout the challenge.
They are very straight talking (slightly scary!! But not really!! 😂) but what they advise is exactly what’s needed to get you up and down those mountains as quickly and safely as possible.
They are very knowledgeable and use local guides on each mountain to support them....All of them were lovely and made you feel very confident!
The like minded people we met, also taking part in the challenge, were great company and the photos on our WhatsApp will make me smile for years to come..

Have just had the BEST weekend doing the National 3 Peaks Challenge with Nic and Chris of Active Mountaineering and I genuinely cannot praise them enough. The trip was rescheduled from 2020 due to Covid and was totally worth waiting for. Everything was top notch, from initial communication through to travel advice, not to mention getting everyone up and down the three mountains in less than that coveted 24 hours. Chris and Nic were professional and knowledgeable every step of the way, explaining exactly what we'd be doing at each stage of the challenge, and they were uncompromising about speed and safety but still took the time to frequently check in with us individually to make sure we were all OK.
Absolutely cannot wait for my next adventure with them - I wouldn't book with anyone else.
