my experience at the Western Dental Concord office located at 1821 Concord Ave.
Unfortunately, the level of service has been consistently disappointing. The front desk staff repeatedly ask for the same information during each visit, which suggests a lack of proper coordination and record management.
More concerning is the conduct of the office manager, who has not demonstrated the expected level of professionalism or courtesy. Attempts to raise concerns have not been handled appropriately, and there appears to be little effort to listen to or resolve patient grievances.
In addition, my appointments have been canceled multiple times without adequate notice, causing significant inconvenience and disruption.
I respectfully request that these issues be reviewed and addressed immediately. Patients should be able to rely on professional communication, efficient processes, and dependable scheduling.

This company is sending text messages regarding fake appointments that my minor chid supposedly had- they have been in litigation previously for deceptive tactics like this. My child has never been a patient- I called concerning a possible fraudulent use of his insurance after their multiple text messages and the first two times I was placed on hold for 20 minutes plus then disconnected- called back as if I was paying a bill and the rep asked me to prove it was them texting me. Scams abound! Steer clear and Google this shameful company before considering. So disgusting
Choosing Western Dental is the thing I regret most.
If I could, I would give Western Dental no star.
Recently I received an unexpected charge of $560.0 for 2025. This charge was out-of-pocket, and I was never presented with or asked to sign any prior agreement for this service, which I never even received. Between 2024 and 2025, I received the same routine dental cleaning services at Western Dental; and after each visit, I paid the required service fee of about $30 or slightly more on the same day of the services. I contacted the Western Dental billing department several times to request a detailed explanation of the charges and the explanations I got during two separate phone calls were completely different. They promised to send me an itemized statement, one month passed that I did not receive. I called to ask about the detailed statement again, and still did not receive it. And then I emailed billing department to request the detailed statement but no response. They sent me a bill again with extra $169.50 late fee. I called the billing office again and requested to speak with their manager. After insisting on a clear explanation, I finally received a statement by email. The manager told me that I need to speak directly with the office provider for clarification. The following day I visited the office to speak with a lady in charge; however, her explanation was different from the previous explanations I had received via phone call. Her attitude was unhelpful, indifferent and unconcerned, and she simply told me to contact my insurance company. I explained that any out-of-pocket charges should have been clearly explained to me and approved by me in advance. And furthermore, I never even received the service that I am now being billed for. The billing process has been confusing, inconsistent, and lacking in transparency; furthermore it made me frustrated. I have already paid for all services I have received for basic cleaning. I do not know exactly what the $632.50 charge is for, but I do know that it is for services I have never received. I disputed this charge to their corporate office. Without a doubt they speak with one voice.
During my dental cleanings in 2025, the procedures were consistently incomplete and very rough, the dental hygienist (his name Hassan) had a very poor attitude and even got into an argument with his assistant in front of me. The assistant left, and another one was brought in. Throughout the entire cleaning process, the hygienist was very angry and clearly rushing, painfully scraping a few areas between my teeth without proper care. My teeth were also never polished during any of my visits in 2025.
Predatory and cruel
- paid $1760 for a periodontal treatment that my new dentist said I was overcharged for, she doesn't even recognize and didn't help address my issue. Look up Gum Rx Western Dental scam! It was so predatory and disgusting for them to do this to me WHILE I WAS PREGNANT. I could have used that money for my baby. Absolutely shameful.
- I agree that front desk staff can be very impatient and rude
- they kept my husband waiting for over an hour for his appointment which meant I was home with our baby alone. So disrespectful of our time. This was the last straw.
- some of the dental technicians were kind and the dentist was fine.
- I got a letter from my insurance asking for more information about a treatment I got from them, which meant that this location didn't give my insurance the information they needed. I am not a dentist so I couldn't explain what they did and why - it's not my area of expertise. I spent hours on the phone trying to reach them, on hold and bounced around until I finally got ahold of someone at a central location who said she'd reach out to the Venice Blvd clinic to have them do their job and inform insurance of what procedures they're doing and why.
awful, deceitful, and poor quality service
I went in for a crown and set up a payment plan for the procedure with a $400 deposit. Dentist decided it could not be done and I needed an implant. they wouldn't give me a bridge and offered to pull my side-front tooth. I decided to cancel services with them and get my $400 refunded. The office finance manger-Valerie agreed to process the refund (Feb.9th). As of March 2nd I have NOT received the refund. She assured me she was calling corporate billing daily to check on it. I called Corporate billing 3/2/26 and they had NO record of the refund request. Valerie blatantly lied to my face about placing a refund. After being in the office initially, for 1 1/2 hrs. they decided to give me a deep cleaning and only cleaned the right side of my mouth!!! The numbing shot caused my my right nostril to be in pain for a week. I HAD TO GO THRU CORPORATE GRIEVANCE AND DELTA TO GET MY REFUND PROCESS "STARTED". DON'T GO TO THIS OFFICE!!!

I was charged for unnecessary X-rays and not informed about the charges. They were supposed to send a referral to my insurance for care needed by a specialist. They never sent the referral. I called the office and got no help. I was told to call back later. I requested they send me the X-rays so I could make the appointment with a specialist and was told that I need to request them from the office.....I was talking to the office. I will be switching providers and disputing the charges. I would not recommend this office to anyone.

They don't listen to what you want and do what they want. They made me a completely useless pair of partials I told them I didn't want just to charge medi care. I basically threw them on the trash when I got home. Western Dental is a bunch of incompetent rip offs.
Western Dental is shady!!
I went to Western Dental and was told I had 7 cavities and needed their GumX treatment. I took their word for it because I thought they were trustworthy. Obviously I was wrong and now I’m on the hook for the GumX because I accepted it. DO NOT GO TO WESTERN DENTAL and certainly DO NOT ACCEPT GUMX IF THEY PUSH IT ONTO YOU!! I’m also left wondering if I even had 7 cavities to begin with considering they have a history of pushing unnecessary treatments onto patients. Check them out on the BBB website and their page is rife with complaints of the GumX treatment being pushed onto people.

Western dental is not professional
I made my appointment, they did my x rays told me I had 2 cavities, and I needed deep cleaning, since I have 2 loose teeth I desperately need the cleaning, but western dental doesn't take there patients seriously, they told me to call back to schedule the deep cleaning, and I called back and waited 1 hour after they finally get back to the phone they say they dont have in record my visit that they will call back so terrible the lady said she will call the manager to approve i need deep cleaning and I had already went for my check up and on top of all there garbage service they didn't call back dont go to western dental they are terrible and don't take customers serious
Go anywhere else, don’t get GUMX
DO NOT GET TRICKED INTO GETTING GUMX. They make it seem like you need it and you don’t. It cost $1400 out of pocket and Amazon offers several other packages for 50-$200 that does the same thing. No insurance covers it and no other dental office sells that brand. It’s simply a scam for some hydrogen peroxide.
Aside from that, they did not bill insurances correctly and I ended up having to put hours in to resolve the issues. The front desk people are extremely rude.
They will cancel your appointment when you arrive early or on time because of over booking. They aren’t regular rude either, the women who work there are secure in their jobs and have no interest in providing even basic courtesy.
Save yourself and go anywhere else.

Horrible service here! Took my dad to get a check up and was informed that he needed a tooth removed. My mom took a day off of work to take him only to find out they canceled the appointment without letting us know. Took him back the next week to get the procedure done, waited around for almost 2 hours for the doctor to poke him with the needle and then inform us that he can’t do the produce because my dad moves too much. We had previously informed them multiple times that he has a genetic disorder that makes him wiggle and they said they could handle it no problem. Now they are making us pay even more money to put him under to take out the tooth because they can’t handle the movement. My mom has to take another day off work to take him. They also charge everything upfront so we have already paid for the procedure that hasn’t happened yet because they keep canceling.
TERRIBLE appointment system
Terrible, terrible, terrible broken appt. system! Over the last two weeks, I've spoken to multiple phone system personnel, on multiple phone lines to schedule a return appt. Phone personnel are always professional, courteous, and apologetic. But they can't book an appointment and try to call my local ofc. They can't EVER get through. They've sent emails and asked for return calls. Nothing. Meanwhile the automated system keeps sending me texts reminding me to make an appointment. I'm on hold AGAIN. It just shouldn't be difficult to book a return appointment!

Went through hoops to even make the appointment, (two days prior) Stated why i needed the appointment. Told them everything. Went in at the designated time, of the appointment. I went to the desk to let them know I was there, gave my name & D.O.B. (ALL THIS THEN WAS TOLD; WE DO NOT FIX OTHER JOBS THAT WERE GOT DUN HERE? As explained before (ALL THIS WAS EXPLAINED PRIOR TO MAKING THE APPOINTMENT) also at the time of scheduling of the appointment?? This is why education is so important! Would have gave zero stars,no place to find it?😂 They do not even deserve one!👎

Do not go. They have no idea what each other is doing. Very rude. I had a dental emergency and used them years ago but they are nothing like they were. The office and the call center do not sync up so appt are wrong service is bad. People you deserve better
Miss management
This dental clinic is doesn’t know about time management so with very rude staff I don’t recommend this clinic to no one. I had been waiting for 3 hours after that they told me you have reschedule the appointment these guys time killers.

Western Dental & Orthodontics in Loma Linda, California, provided substandard care, marked by mistreatment, disrespect, and condescending behavior. The extraction of my upper teeth was followed by damage to my immediate denture, leading me to file a formal complaint. Unfortunately, this resulted in retaliatory actions, compromising my care and yielding an ill-fitting denture due to harsh treatment from the dentist. Escalating the issue to the manager proved fruitless, as she responded with yelling and unprofessionalism. The treatment I received was unacceptable, and I caution against seeking care here. Having been billed for services not adequately rendered, I intend to seek alternative care to secure a properly fitting denture, a fundamental right that Western Dental & Orthodontics has failed to uphold. I will not recommend this facility to anyone.
