WellyBox took my money and then…

WellyBox took my money and then straight up lied about having a cancel button. There is no cancel option, despite what they claim. Once they have your payment, you’re stuck.

On top of that, the service doesn’t even work properly. It scrapes literally any email looking for numbers that aren't even receipts and places them as receipts.

This feels misleading at best and intentionally deceptive at worst. I would not trust this company with your money or your data. Save yourself the frustration and avoid WellyBox entirely.

I'm still waiting to hear about a refund and will be working closely with my bank to ensure this is overturned.

Regarding receipt detection — the system is AI-based and also allows users to define automation rules and personalized collection settings (such as filtering by senders, document types, and custom rules). These configurations help prevent non-relevant documents from being identified and significantly improve accuracy based on each user’s needs.

If I could give it negative stars I…

If I could give it negative stars I would. I wanted to try wellybox but I was automatically charged for the year! That is their default setting. Trying to reach support is useless and frustrating. I sent 3 emails, a chat message on Instagram and their "chat support" twice and neither time did I get a reply. The FAQ says go to "Billing" to cancel. Billing only gave me one option Upgrade! I regret wanting to try Wellybox to see if they were a good match for my business. Instead I am spending time trying to cancel with no response!!!! Awful I do not recommend!!!!!

I've been with them since 2023. They save me huge amounts of time and money-saving accuracy. Everything works perfectly. I can't imagine running my business without them - it's a total game-changer.

Even when I had billing issues after changing my subscription, they handled it immediately with top-tier customer service. You don't find companies like this anymore. Highly appreciated, and I'll definitely stay a loyal client

Avoid, really really bad

Awful, not fit for use. Wont make your life easier, imports loads of things incorrectly and basically doesn't work. Can't export to Xero properly (only works in small amounts) and. pulls the wrong information/receipts through. Very, very bad. Then also super hard to cancel.

Regarding data imports and the Xero integration, this integration is actively used by many customers on a daily basis, and we continuously improve it through regular product updates, with a strong focus on accuracy, performance, and scalability. In addition, the system allows users to configure automation rules and collection settings to reduce the identification and import of non-relevant documents.
As for cancellations, we acknowledge that the process should be clearer and more straightforward, and this is an area we are actively working to improve.

What they don't tell you.....

This app probably works well... if you live in the USA.

If you don't (I live in the UK) then you will be disappointed because for the same subscription cost you only get half the functionality.
There is no ability to link to an Amazon or eBay account. Apparently they are 'working on it'. Fair enough but I think this information should be made much more prominent in their marketing and advertising.
If all it can do it scan through a couple of email address then it won't really save you much time. When you find you still have to sift for much of your data and manually enter it into spreadsheets it's actually annoying to have some portion of it split apart and separately listed, a bit of a mess really....

Day 1 experience

Day 1 experience:
1) Signed up for 1 mth (shows on their screen). Invoice says they billed me for the full year charge.
2) Chat says they are opened, I waited three hrs with no response
3) Support email address bounced. Found two other addresses on the site, waiting to see if they reply.
4) "Cancel subscription" button the help section describes doesn't exist in the location described, or anywhere else. You can't cancel on your own from what I can see.
5) I find it fishy a review says "shahar helped me and was great" and then the previous review was from a certain "shahar" giving five stars "great product".
6) No phone support or hours of operation listed.
7) I read the other reviews here and it seems someone else was also billed an annual subscription when they chose the monthly option and did not get help. A few others mention billing not being refunded or corrected. I'm really surprised, the marketing and basic product seems so good, but the customer service and billing is a disaster!

Yikes!
My review will be updated if this improves.

This is an expensive subscription which…

This is an expensive subscription which should be hugely useful, but it isn't exporting invoices to Xero despite being connected, and despite using the chat twice and emailing once I have had no support, making it completely useless for me.

Expensive, poor results and terrible support

Expensive, so you'd expect quality performance and support. You'll be disappointed. I could never get the supposed integration with Freshbooks to work, and support was mindless and ineffective. I had to export the receipts to a google drive and manually enter them into Freshbooks, in order to get any usefulness from my one monthly subscription payment.

The worst part, was they upgraded me to an annual subscription without my consent, and their promised refund never showed. They they proceeded to make repeated attempts to charge my card for even more expensice annual subscriptions, claiming I had clicked a button to request this. (As if!) Fortunately, after the first charge, I changed my payment method to a card that wouldn't clear their expensive charges. (They don't give you the option to remove payment methods completely.)

Repeated chat complaints were ignored.

Very disappointing customer service and poor communication

I requested a refund after canceling my subscription, but despite multiple follow-ups, I have yet to receive any response or my money back. Very disappointing customer service and poor communication. Would not recommend.

False promises.

The system is a great concept and it DOES pull the emails that land in your account from the month you sign up but it states you can pull all the historic invoices too if you pay extra which i did.

Unfortunatly this is just not the case. Im sure they INTEND it to work but it doesn't. My Wellybox was syncing with my emails for nearly 24 hours and it pulled absolutely ZERO invoices from before july 2025.

However, it did recieved the ones that landed newly in my inbox. So it seems to work for new invoices but dont be misled into thinking you can go back years and get your invoices. It's a waste of money and I will be requesting a refund due to being miss sold a product.
