Great beginner website product

Webstarts is an easy and fun website design product for those who do not need a comprehensive commercial website.

Instructions are clear and setup is quick. I had an issue I needed help with and support was helpful with follow-up emails to make sure things were working correctly.

GREAT SERVICE

You can always depend on Webstarts to get you back up if you get into any technical difficulties. I have been using Webstarts for a number of years. They always come to the table when I need them. Colin Tongs LL.M International law.

You don't always get what you're paying for.

What started out as a great experience, eventually turned into sour frustrations. Although their platform is easy to use and anybody can build a great-looking website, I have been using webstarts for a year and over the year, I've experienced problem after problem, Such as;

1. The SSL going out for no reason.

2. The website throwing 404 for no reason.

3. Blog posts disappearing or displaying differently then they had previously.

4. The Email won't send out emails unless the recipients have me as a contact

5. Members of my blog reporting they've been deleted from the site and have to keep signing back up

*EDIT: Webstarts has never offered any details as to why these sort of things happen, although they have great content for general instructions on how to use the many tools they offer, I've rarely heard back from their support team and issues 3-4 are left unresolved

I understand my review was unfair at first, however I'm simply going to edit and update this review as the experience continues. I don't like writing bad reviews, but in this case I felt I wasn't left with much else I could do, I wasn't attempting to slander any particular employee, but that's the only name I get from the autogenerated replies when I contact support@webstarts

If you email support@webstarts.com with your real contact information I'm sure we can get to the bottom of your issues. Obviously there's no reason why anyone would ever sabotage your website. I find it particularly offensive that you are accusing me personally. I rarely answer support requests but it's possible you got my name from an automated reply. Can you remove this post until we've had a chance to look at your issue? It's rather slanderous.

***Update***

Again, I just need you to send an email to support@webstarts.com so I can investigate the issues properly. However, I'm going to do my best to explain what could be the issues here.

1. SSL - A domain name must be using our DNS records in order to issue the SSL certificate. If it was working intermittently it was likely because of the propagation time.

2. 404 Errors - If you link to a page you create with WebStarts and then later delete the page you're going to get a 404 error when following that link. This is the nature of the web.

3. Blog Posts - If your blog post formatting is changing it's likely because you're copying and pasting content from some other source that has formatting. For example, if you copy text from a document or another website and paste it, there's always a possibility you will paste the formatting applied to the text as well. You can avoid that by pasting text into something like notepad first or just by applying formatting within the blog editor.

4. Emails - It sounds like you're trying to send to a Gmail address. They have overly aggressive spam filters. This isn't something within our control. Just make sure you're not blasting people with marketing emails or CCing large numbers of email addresses.

5. Blog Members - I'm not sure what you mean by "members of your blog". The blog allows people to leave a comment. So maybe you're saying they have to login to leave a comment but cannot. I'd need more information to say for sure.

I manage 4 websites on WebStarts

I manage 4 websites on WebStarts. Its easy & they look great. I love the personal attention I get from the team at WebStarts. One of the other organizations I manage the site used another service & I conviced them to leave the clunky thing for WebStarts. Coudn't be happier.

Reliable, Fast, and with Lots of Features!

This has got to be the website builder with the MOST features and services!

The drag-and-drop feature is fluid and smooth! No lag or stutter like the other "famous" website builders I have tried in the past.

With lots of elements and options, there is freedom for creativity! This makes the process of creating a website EASY and a FUN!

And most importantly, the websites are ⚡ FAST! Good scores on Google PageSpeed Insights! Both for mobile and desktop!

A very minor complaint for me is the conversion from desktop to mobile.

You create the website for desktop, and do (minor) adjustments AGAIN for mobile. Like spacing and image resizing. Unlike other (mobile-first) website makers that does this automatically.

But this can be a good thing because it gives freedom and control over what is displayed on mobile! 👍

Still, I am very happy I got this software and I recommended this to everyone who are into websites and online marketing!

A well deserved ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Fast response with the dev team.
From time to time I run into troubles (especially in the beginning not understanding the platform), support provides answers to every point of my inquiry.
The website making product is getting better and better and I'm thrilled that they made changes in the last 3 months that made life better as a web designer.

Could use a panel in other languages.
