We had an excellent experience getting our car from Vertu MG at Newbridge Edinburgh. Stephen & Tony couldn’t be more helpful and took the time to listen and answer all our questions with great warmth & professionalism.

The MG Sales experience is 3.5* ( very keen to sell add ons, and not given precise details on how the warranty operates), but customer service is 2*. I wanted to find out if a battery issue was covered by warranty but they wanted the car for a full day and warned me that it would cost £140 if not covered by warranty (a new battery would cost less). I tried to book a slot following a saefty issue recall but would have to wait 3 months and I was only offered an 8:30 slot. Not my idea of good customer service , and they do not live up to their claim - Our mission is to deliver an outstanding customer motoring experience through honesty and trust.

Viewed the MGS5 online, drove from Aberdeen to vertu mg Edinburgh test drove the car, with Tony Jackson the sales executive, very impressed done the deal.
All within the dealership were friendly and approachable, Tony was excellent in all tasks , trade in,, transfer of ownership, road tax and chauffeuring me to my building society for funding, plentiful tea coffee and mince pies, I wouldn't hesitate to deal with Vertu mg in the future. Since purchasing Tony has phoned on multiple occasions asking how I was getting on with the car if everything was good with it, 5 stars to Tony and the MG team.

I had a fantastic experience from first entering the showroom to finish, when I picked up my new car. Tony was excellent in his care and management of the process, kept me fully informed and made it easy for me at every stage.

From coming into the showroom to collecting my new car the salesman was very helpful and answered all my questions and he made the experience very easy and enjoyable.

From the moment we arrived in the showroom we were treated with respect and the journey was the best we have ever experienced in purchasing a new car. The salesman Stephen is a credit to Vertu Motors.

I am blown away by the level of service at Vertu. Every interaction, from my initial inquiry to the final setup, was handled with absolute professionalism and personal care. The staff are courteous, efficient, and make you feel truly valued. A genuine 5-star experience.

We knew the model and spec we wanted on the new car and I spoke initially with Paul on Saturday afternoon. Paul put the deal together very quickly, giving me a very competitive price, whilst patiently and thoroughly answering my many questions, given my lack of knowledge on the MG brand. Paul then passed me over to Stephen, who organised delivery of the car, all of the admin, and and sent me a video of the car from the compound. The car was originally scheduled for delivery on Tuesday evening, however i asked if it could be ready sooner. I collected the car on Monday evening - just 2 days after ordering it! Having purchased 7 new cars over the years, this one was a great experience. I found Paul and Stephen to be straight forward to deal with, honest, and genuinely nice people who clearly take pride in what they do. Whilst the car was delivered in record time, it was still prepared to a high standard. At handover and after polishing off some water marks on the door which he spotted, Stephen spent a fair bit of time taking us through the controls. I would not hesitate in using this dealership again and will certainly recommend it to my friends and family.

From first contact to the handover of my car everything was straightforward. Stephen is very helpful and knowledgeable about the MG S5 car I was interested in.

Terrible experience. Vertu MG cold-called me to book me an appointment for an event they were running with some deals. I gave them the details of my part exchange vehicle, booked a same day appointment, they gave me the name of the sales rep and followed up with an email confirming all details. I arrived promptly at the dealership and the salesman didn’t have a clue I was coming. The manager arranged for another person to deal with me. I gave again all the details of my part exchange, I explained which new MG model I like and he arranged for me to go for a test drive. Car was nice. Returned back to the store and they broke the news to me that because I own a BMW, they couldn’t sell it on their forecourt and for that reason they were offering me a very low evaluation. I went on WBAC, WBYC and AC websites to check quickly how much they would offer me and the difference was between £2050 to £2750 compared to Vertu… so they would offer a £750 contribution/deal to take the car for £2000 cheaper..Vertu MG asked me twice before booking the appointment and the test drive for my car details, so clearly they knew well in advance that they cannot sell my car in their forecourt so why would they waste my time. The sales rep who was trying to help (and that’s why the 2 stars instead of 1) recommended me to sell it to one of the sites I checked and then buy from Vertu. Well I want a one-stop shop. No hassle. Drive in with my old car and leave with my new. At that point, the sales rep went in to bring his manager…. Sales manager came there with an attitude saying that this is the part exchange price they offer and that’s it….The experience kept downgrading more and more… practices of selling cars 20 years ago..I understand they run a business and need to make money but there is a difference between being honest in first place and ripping you off with the hope that you might bite the bait for a £750 contribution. The sales rep was fine and under circumstances I would give him the sale but management above him are definitely in the wrong industry.

HORRIBLE COMPANY. I was forced to take my car here as part of a factory recall. Since then, they have phoned and emailed me incessantly trying to sell me cars. I've unsubscribed to their email *three times* and they are *still* bugging me. All you've done is convinced me never, ever to buy a car from you.

If you were that good, you wouldn't need to hound people to buy from you, would you?

I bought an MG S5 on 30th June, just before the MG offer ran out. Am really pleased with the car, but not with the customer service. They were supposed to be organising a service plan for me but I'm still waiting to hear back, despite having sent a reminder email on the 11th July and a follow-up on the 18th. That’s not acceptable and doesn't augur well for the future.

So yes, great car - but it's going to be a no to my custom in the future. That'll be going to another dealership, I'm afraid.

Great service from Stephen Band when requesting a test drive. Most sales people switch off the moment you mention company car, but Stephen went out of his way to book me in for a test drive, was thorough is his knowledge of the car and easy to talk to through the whole experience.
