We had such a beautiful experience working with Luis and Ricky, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough.

Luis handled both our maternity and baby shoot, and she was incredible from start to finish.She made us feel completely comfortable, guided us through poses naturally, and captured moments that felt real and emotional—not forced. You can tell she truly loves what she does. The photos came out stunning, and they’re memories we’ll hold onto forever.

Ricky was just as amazing. He took his time to clearly explain the payment plan to us, broke everything down in a way that made sense, and answered all our questions patiently. No pressure, no confusion—just transparency and professionalism, which we really appreciated.

If you’re looking for a team that delivers quality, care, and a smooth experience, these are your people.

From dread to all smiles instead

Our experience with Venture Photography Studio Leicester

I originally booked this as a treat for my wife and daughter… and if I’m honest, I needed quite a bit of convincing to go along.

The idea of a photoshoot filled me with a quiet sense of dread.

I pictured awkward poses, forced smiles, and counting down the minutes until it was over.
(Not really my thing)

From the moment we arrived, though, things started to shift.

Parking was easy, and as soon as we walked in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. We were invited to relax in a comfy seating area and offered a cuppa, maybe a small touch, but it helped settle the nerves more than I expected.

Looking through their photo books, it quickly became clear this wasn’t going to be the stiff, staged experience I’d built up in my head. They focus on capturing real, “in the moment” family connections, and that immediately put me a bit more at ease.

There were also a few thoughtful touches along the way that I won’t spoil, but they really added to the experience.

Then we met our photographer, Louis, and honestly, that’s when any remaining doubts disappeared.

From the second she picked up the camera, her energy and passion completely changed the mood. Instead of feeling awkward, we were laughing the whole time. I never thought I’d say this, but I genuinely enjoyed it.
(Although, to be fair, our daughter absolutely stole the spotlight, we were just the supporting cast!)

My advice is if you have something that’s important to you, clothing, sporting or an activity you love. Take it along Louis was able to build these into the photoshoot amazingly well!

The photoshoot time flew by, there was no clock watching from Louis, she kept the pace well and I’m pretty sure we went over our allotted time !

At the end we already felt excited to see the end results…

We were then shown the different pricing options and packages, and everything was explained clearly without feeling overwhelming or pushy.

Before we left, Louis took us on a quick tour of the front studio, showing us finished photos in situ which was a nice touch and made the whole experience feel even more comprehensive

Louis had some of her own photography on display, where she had won awards, really reassuring! (And great too)

A week later, we returned to view the photos, this time with Ricky. Once again, we were made to feel completely welcome, no pressure, no hard sell, just a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, where we could see all our family photos

And those photos… simply, just wow!!!!

Louis captured our family exactly as we are: natural, genuine, and full of personality.

Ricky then guided us through choosing what would work best for our home, offering helpful advice without ever making it feel like a hard sales pitch.

I went from dreading the entire experience to already talking about coming back, and next time, we’ll be bringing more of the family along.

Louis, thank you for capturing our family so beautifully.

Ricky, thank you for helping us choose a finial piece we’ll love seeing every day.

Won a pet photoshoot for myself and my golden retriever Bonnie. Lois was our photographer and made us feel at ease with the initial phone calls to find out a little bit more about us to make the session perfect. The shoot itself was great fun - Bonnie was a natural and Lois was so good with her.
We had the viewing a few days later with Ricky who was very patient and informative. He gave us all the time we needed and went through everything clearly, and his experience and help was invaluable. Would highly recommend!

Had a photoshoot with my wife and grand daughter. We were greeted by Lois very warmly and exemplary service.

When it comes to the photoshoot, we were welcomed and spoken to by a very positively energetic young man called Dom (Dominic) his direction and quality of work was amazing, made me and my wife feel at ease, considering it was our first shoot since getting marrried!

He was spectacular at guiding/directing my bundle of energy granddaughter and managed to capture out of this world shots. We were spoilt for choice when it came to the viewing session. We ended up buying all of our pictures because we couldn’t narrow down Doms work!

I received a complimentary £245 voucher through work and decided to use it to celebrate our baby’s first birthday with a professional photoshoot. In hindsight, I regret not scrutinising the pricing structure more carefully, as it was not clearly presented on the website nor explained at any stage prior to or during the shoot.

We attended our session today (having previously had to stop an earlier session due to our baby becoming unwell). The shoot itself went well, and we were pleased with the experience up until the pricing discussion at the end.

When the photographer outlined the costs, both my wife and I were genuinely taken aback. We had reasonably assumed that the digital images—particularly via USB—would be included within the shoot package or available at a modest additional cost. However, being quoted £945 for digital photos is, in our view, completely disproportionate.

For context, our wedding photography package was significantly more affordable and included a USB, a professionally printed album, and fully edited images. By comparison, the pricing here feels excessive and poorly justified. While the website mentions a range between £95 and £1000, it does not make it sufficiently clear that this could mean £95 per individual photo, which is highly misleading.

As a result, we now feel extremely disappointed and deflated. What should have been a special and memorable experience to celebrate our child’s first birthday has instead been overshadowed by frustration. We are now reluctant to attend the viewing appointment, knowing that we may not be able to reasonably afford any of the photos.

It is particularly upsetting to think that these moments—captured during what was meant to be a joyful occasion—may ultimately be lost to us due to unclear and, in our opinion, excessive pricing.

We would strongly encourage greater transparency around costs at the outset, so that customers can make informed decisions and avoid similar disappointment.

“Once you’re shown photos of your newborn and family, it’s incredibly difficult to walk away — and I imagine that’s something your studio is well aware of. That kind of emotional pressure, placed on people at such a vulnerable time, can feel a bit exploitative. This is not specific to us either there are countless reviews stating the same thing.

Your packages cost more than many full-day wedding photographers, and while I respect the work that goes into editing, it’s hard to see how that cost is justified.”

From the start of receiving the email to say we could book the shoot the staff have been fantastic. Lois was our photographer and she had her work cut out for her with my crazy bunch of 5 all very big personalities with some adhd to add to it. She was fantastic with them all friendly warm and very open to some poses and direction from the kids themselves on how to best show off their hobbies or skills. The rest of the gang were great with us before (i very much appreciated my coffee thanks dom)and after the sessions and viewing the movie and choosing our pics with the lads was also made very easy and again they tolerated the crazy kids and the 6,7 silliness.. thanks for being such a great bunch and capturing my kids in all their crazy beauty I cannot wait to see our pictures up on the wall 😀 the Richards Gang x

We had the most amazing experience with Venture Photography Studio in Ratby for our bump-to-baby journey! From the very beginning, the team (especially our photographer Lois) made us feel completely comfortable and special, capturing such a meaningful time in our lives with so much care and professionalism.

The maternity shoot was relaxed and beautifully styled, and when we returned with our newborn, they were incredibly patient, gentle, and attentive—nothing ever felt rushed. You can tell they truly love what they do.

When we viewed the images, we were honestly blown away. Every photo captured genuine emotion and precious little details we’ll cherish forever. Choosing our prints wasn’t easy because we loved so many of them.

We’re so grateful to have these memories captured so perfectly and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this studio to anyone looking to photograph their family’s special moments!

Kelly brought so much energy to our photoshoot, she wasn’t afraid to join in with the fun which made us feel really comfortable. We brought loads of props to give her inspiration which was so useful. The day of the shoot was worth the money in itself- the finished photos are just an added extra for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Had the best time with our photographer Lois for our family photoshoot, she made us feel at ease and really enjoy it, especially my 15 year old son who really doesn’t enjoy photos 😂 his photos especially actually came out amazing! Dom and Lois were absolutely awesome! We didn’t know what to expect from the shoot but they made us feel so comfortable and it was so much fun. The took some epic shots and edited the pics brilliantly. No hard sell and lots of lols! They didn’t even flinch when our dog Elvis bobbed on the floor 🤣

We had such an amazing experience. The photos that Dom took came out absolutely incredible. Dom was such a delight and really made us feel welcome and listened to everything we requested as well as coming up with some amazing ideas too! The whole team was so lovely. I was lucky enough to win a photoshoot experience. My partner, my dog and myself all attended for our shoot. We were called prior to arrange a date and another call to discuss what we wanted from the shoot and our ideas.
When we arrived the team was welcoming and friendly. Kelly was our photographer and really gave us the time to get as much different ideas in as possible and lots of ideas to try and capture awesome photos of our slightly awkward dog 😅.
We just went back for our viewing and was welcomed by Ricky. He was really knowledgeable and personable. He was transparent with our options and gave us some great advice.
There are some really good deals on at the moment so we happily took advantage of them and can't wait to pick up our image! We also got our digitals as part of the package the same day and they look great!

Lois our photographer was amazing, she not only understood what we were looking for but also was fantastic with our dogs.

Lovely experience, the staff created a lovely atmosphere and experience and we recommend to everyone.

We had two photographers Kelly and Callum and both were fantastic!

First time round we arrived late and Kelly did a fantastic job capturing some wonderful images of my little boy even though he was just not feeling himself and hungry. Second shoot was just fantastic too, Callum captured my happy little boy so well.

The viewing was also wonderful, Ricky accommodated us including a demanding toddler and had so much patience while we picked our images. All in all they were fantastic and would highly recommend.
