One of many customers left out to dry by VanPlus and Shift

Like most of the reviews below, I too had a terrible experience with Van Plus over a year ago and it seems in that time very little has changed. I noticed that their Google review function has been removed (probably because it was full of even worse reviews than on Trustpilot). It really upsets me to see a company unashamedly do this to so many people. For people trying to get a refund or having problems contacting VanPlus or Shift, please contact me on Twitter and I can try to help or offer advice.
Good luck to all trying to get their money back.

Worst moving company ever

Worst moving company ever.
They took forever to do my move when I was told that it would take 3 hours when it took 5. They booked in me then said I should have booked for more hours.
I then had to wait 2h30 min for the van to be at my new house. They never apologised.
There is no email address to send a complaint.
I used shift but van plus is the same company. They are trying to charge me twice the amount agreed and because I keep asking from them to confirm that they will only take the exra amount for the 2 hours, they have sent me to a debt collector agency. Unbelievable.

Please please avoid this company

Please please avoid this company. They are affiliated with Shift. Another company to avoid at all costs. They took 60 pounds from me and I am unable to get a refund. After money was taken from my account, no customer service was available , the driver never ever turned up and I was never able to get a refund despite trying a hundred times. I simply hate these people..this is a scam. Please avoid!

Avoid this company

This is a terrible company trying to be an "uber for couriers". It is somehow affiliated with Shift-Online, which is another company to avoid. Customer services are non-existent. The only people I could get through to were booking agents who refused to help with anything once a booking had been made. The driver turned up 5 hours late after lots of calling and begging him to come. He blamed the company for not giving him the job even though it said it was assigned to him on my view. Once the courier had arrived, he was fine, but Van.Plus themselves are terrible.

van plus is literally the worst ever

van plus is literally the worst ever! I would give it no stars if I could. The driver literally cancelled on me last minute and when I mean last minute I mean really last minute (he cancelled when he was already supposed to arrive) and the driver didn't even bother letting us know that it was cancelled. He only texted us back after I kept calling him trying to figure out where he was because he was already supposed to reach my house (the call failed all the times I called) and he texted us with what one would deem vulgar or inappropriate words. And when I tried calling van plus (the only number I had of van plus at that time) regarding the whereabouts of the driver all they told me was they were only in charge of booking and so that they do not know where the driver is at all or if the driver is going to even come at all. Basically being of no help at all. They also transferred my call to the customer support team which never got through. I have absolutely no idea as to what customer team it is when there is literally no one who will pick up your call or reply you on the live chat. I had to call for another van last minute. The worst part is I suddenly got a sms from vanplus saying that my booking got moved to the next day! And this happened without any consultation from me at all or me requesting that I wanted that move! And I tried calling the customer team again wanting to cancel my booking but of course no one picked up my call and my call failed. AND FYI they had already charged me for this last minute cancelled booking. DO NOT BOOK FROM THIS COMPANY EVER

Broken

Beware Aberdeen and the rest of the UK.
DO NOT BOOK THEM.!!!!!
Booked these people to send a specific size of van at a specific time. 4 hours before moving they contact me to tell me they cannot provide the required size of van. Sending one a quarter of the size. No use to me. Cancelled the service by leaving a message on their answering machine,( cos they don't answer calls from recognised numbers obviously) more than 3 hours before removal time.
Still charged me the full amount. Have not been able to get them to answer my calls since.
Waste of time, A lot of money, they are not cheap Belief in humanity destroyed since dealing with these people.

Unacceptable Driver’s behaviour and…

Unacceptable Driver’s behaviour and customer service is appalling. They don’t hear you at all: driver is late, attitude horrendous, not willing to help or advice. Traumatic experience and customer service team just says: we apologise about inconvenience caused! I had to send this rude driver away and got a normal driver. I will never ever try to save again on this. Normal people behave like that and don’t leave you waiting for 4 hours with no update! Keep away from them! Otherwise it’s a Russian rullette especially if you get Daniel as a driver!

SCAM

Scam company, should have checked reviews beforehand to confirm this. First call to say driver could not come and booking cancelled. Then called an hour later saying one could come an hour later. Driver very rude and demanded extra money in cash for the journey time taking longer than the expected 1.5 hours. Did not give driver the cash as had been told that the firm does not operate with cash due to safety concerns (drivers taking the money for themselves). Got an email less than two hours later with the firm saying that the journey had taken 5 hours and I would be charged for this. With the amount of awful reviews of the firm, I am surprised this scam company is still in business. Please don't make the same mistake as me!

The worst business operating out there

The worst business operating out there. They will steal your money and do no work. They took 2 payments of over £180 each, didn't do the job but refunded one of them after making me wait for their supposed removal men for hours. £186.99 gone. Use them at your own risk.

This is as close as one could get from Incompetence to Fraud

I booked a car for 22.02.18 from SW15 to SE1 through a manager Alan as the site was down and he did the quotation and the booking (I was sent no booking reference and for the next 80 emails he never ever replied). The quotation was for one hour (35 min drive 9pm no traffic and 25min load an offload) plenty of time for only a table.

The job was actually one hour as per the estimate but the driver Ade Adebajo quoted 1:45. I refused to accept the timing and I put a complaint. I received a refund but not for the wrong time but because they overcharged my CC as well on top of the wrong timing. I asked proof of arrival and leaving time to demonstrate the charges but they never did.

80 e-mails & calls but nothing was done.

Be aware that the people on the char website are just some bodies in Philippines, the only thing they do they just take your e-mails / calls and forward the to an undefined entity. It is impossible to get anyone in UK to talk to. The company number is not displayed on the website and it is impossible to find the owner who seem to be an elusive Polish guy impossible to be found, or this individual Adam who took my money but never replied after nor any managers.

I ended to pay £75 for a table to be transported 9.7 miles. To make the matter worse the driver asked me of a tip as well.

The chat functionality is nothing else than to make sure that they will stop you to put any complains, never answer until you get exhausted and you give up trying to get your money back.

After reading this you still decide to go ahead booking it will be at your own risk.

Stay away from these thieves

Stay away from these thieves!
Got our bank details, but never showed up. Kept postponing things and delayed our move. Now we have to begin legal proceedings to get our money back.
Better pay more from the beginning with another company than signing up for that fraud!

Lied about time and stole my money

Booked a 30min transport of 1 king size bed. 7 miles. Should have cost £25.00. Driver arrived took 30min and left in a hurry. We thought it was fine until we got a bill for 3 hours a whooping £150.00!! We disputed this charged for months and havent gotten a response from van plus. Driver blatantly lied and stole our money. Will be pursuing this in small claims court shortly

Do not use! Scam company will steal money

Do not use - a total scam. I booked a van for a three hour job. A one bedroom house move. The driver arrived with a friend. The friend was drinking vodka during the job and they took six hours to pack the van! Now I realise that they were delaying on purpose to get paid more. I received a receipt for the original amount of 240 and they then took thatfrom my account and an additional 680! Nearly a grand for a removal job??! This is a corrupt scam company. Worst experience I've had with any service in my life

if i could only rate this with 0 stars or negative. they are scammers. they have this english speaking customer service named adam who then transfers your call to a call center agent based in philippines. they will try to give you a great deal at a very cheap price for a mover. get your card number and details. then say they will get it after the transaction. while on the phone, you can hear people talking and with background music on. really showing how crap they are. on the day of moving, they didnt show up. got the money from my account. and then when i was trying to phone them. i spent hours on the phone just get to speak with different agent saying different crap that they are on their way and then the next thing they said someone is trying to call me earlier to say they need to cancel as they dont have a driver. like seriously!!??? i called my bank to try to make a dispute and i found out they were actually registered as a software company. not a moving company. this alone speaks a lot.

Just awful

Just awful. Took two payments not one. Failed to turn up until one hour late than specified. When they finally arrived there were two guys who wanted to take my daughter on her own and offered to lock me in the back of the van. We had specified two pick ups. They claimed only to have one booked and refused to take the job unless they got more payment. I can't imagine a worse service. DO NOT USE
