Overpromised, underdelivered

The sales process was smooth and convincing, but the product didn't live up to what was pitched. The features were there, but the quality and capability fell noticeably short of what we were led to expect during the sales process.

To make matters worse, we were locked into a 12-month contract, and when we approached the company to negotiate a resolution (including a one-time discounted payment, given that we had stopped using the platform entirely), their only response was to point to the contract.

No goodwill, no compromise, no acknowledgment that the product hadn't delivered on its promises.

A company confident in what it sells doesn't need to trap customers for a year. The insistence on a year-long commitment, combined with the inflexibility when things went wrong, speaks volumes.

If you're evaluating this platform, I'd strongly recommend pushing for a short-term or trial arrangement before committing to anything longer.

I had a very disappointing experience with Upfluence.

The sales team did a great job selling me in, but everything changed immediately after I signed and provided my credit card. It felt like a bait and switch.

The onboarding process was completely hands-off. During the sales process, I had support and attention, but once I became a customer, that disappeared. I had no dedicated support, and when I asked for help, I was told I needed to wait two weeks to join a group training session. That’s not onboarding, that’s abandonment.

The platform itself did not deliver meaningful value. I’ve been in influencer marketing for over 12 years, and I found far more success managing campaigns outside of the platform. It added friction instead of solving problems.

The worst part was trying to pause or cancel. I received conflicting information from different team members. One person told me I could downgrade, then when I tried to do that, I was told I couldn’t. The entire process felt unnecessarily difficult and frustrating.

Overall, this has been one of the worst platform experiences I’ve had. I’m genuinely disappointed, especially given my experience in this space and the expectations that were set upfront.

Great platform for influencer campaigns – reliable and user-friendly!

We've used Upfluence for our influencer marketing agency and found it to be a solid tool for discovering and managing influencers. Customer support was responsive during our subscription period, and the interface is intuitive even for teams handling multiple projects.

In today's tough market, we paused our subscription, but we'd recommend Upfluence to agencies scaling their influencer efforts. Worth trying!

Title: $5K spent for API functionality that never worked, and support that disappeared

I spent roughly $5,000 on an Upfluence package specifically because of their API capabilities. During the sales process, the API was presented as a core feature and the primary reason I chose their platform.

Unfortunately, once I began implementing it, the API functionality did not work as expected.

I implemented the endpoints their team directed me to and was able to get some partial responses, but the core functionality I needed never worked. I provided their team with detailed documentation of the requests, responses, and errors I was receiving so they could help diagnose the issue.

The response I received was extremely disappointing. Instead of addressing the specific endpoints or troubleshooting the implementation details I documented, the reply was essentially that if the functionality didn’t work for me they would refund credits (<$100). This did nothing though for the nearly $500/month I'd been spending with API being the pinnacle of my subscription. There was no meaningful investigation of the endpoints they themselves had recommended.

To be clear: I spent a significant amount of time attempting to make the integration work. I tested multiple approaches and configurations, including extensive debugging and experimentation to rule out implementation issues on my side. Despite these efforts, the functionality remained unreliable.

Another major issue was the change in communication. During the sales process the team was very responsive. However, once the contract was signed and the technical problems started, responses became slow or nonexistent. At one point nearly three weeks passed without a reply, and I had to follow up repeatedly.

The financial loss is frustrating, but the bigger problem was the time lost. I planned to run a campaign using their system, and because the API never functioned properly, I ended up losing months trying to make it work before ultimately having to switch platforms.

If your campaign timeline matters, this kind of delay can be extremely costly.

My experience was paying thousands for functionality that never worked reliably and support that largely disappeared when it mattered most.

Avoid !!

I was sceptical going in.They use all the usual buzzwords to draw you in.They fail to inform you that you need to pay them large amounts to get limited returns.Terrible customer service,zero help with cancelling and literally force you to shell out more and mor cash to get profit.Avoid! This is an elaborate scam.

Upfluence does not support their Creators

Upfluence does not support their creators. I am waiting for payment since August of this year. I talked to customer service and they told me to contact the brand. I did several times and nobody respond. Upfluence is telling me that this is not their problem. Upfluence is ok with brand stealing the content and not paying. You are not in our side that is clear.

If your store runs on Magento - Avoid at all costs

If your e-commerce operation runs on Magento, I strongly advise against using Upfluence. The platform is unstable, poorly optimized for multi-regional setups, and requires significant manual work. Much of your time will be spent troubleshooting or waiting on technical support to resolve recurring issues - eliminating any operational efficiency the platform promises.

In practice, it functions as an overpriced influencer search tool, with little of the broader automation or integration value the company promotes.

Edit: They did reach out after leaving this review to try and find a resolution that would work.

Really like the market place

Upfluence was disappointing

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience with Upfluence was extremely disappointing. The platform’s features were buggy, performance was meh, and critical integrations didn’t work. Support was unhelpful, leaving us stranded without the tools we paid for.

Even worse, the contract locked us in with an automatic renewal buried in the fine print. Before we realized it, our card was charged for another year of a service that failed to deliver. Attempts to cancel or negotiate were met with generic responses. Save yourself the hassle.

Deceptive Sales Practices and Unethical Contract Enforcement

We were approached by a sales representative from Upfluence, who assured us during Zoom meetings that we could try their software for one month and cancel easily if it didn't meet our needs. Trusting her words, we agreed to proceed.

However, when we attempted to cancel after the trial period, we were informed that we were locked into a 12-month contract and required to pay the full annual fee. This was a complete surprise, as we never agreed to such terms. When we contested this, Upfluence began threatening us with legal action to enforce payment.

Our experience is not unique. Other small businesses have reported similar issues, including automatic contract renewals without clear notification and difficulties in canceling services.

Upfluence's business practices are deceptive and predatory. They lure clients in with promises of flexibility and then trap them in long-term contracts, using intimidation tactics to extract payments. This is not just unethical; it's a deliberate strategy to exploit small businesses.

I strongly advise others to avoid Upfluence. Their platform is a financial trap, and their customer service is unresponsive once they have your money. There are more transparent and ethical alternatives available for influencer marketing needs.

Predatory Billing Trap

Predatory Billing Trap – Stay Away!

Be extremely careful with Upfluence.
Once you sign up for their so-called "annual plan," you are trapped.
Even if you request cancellation immediately after finding out the software is useless, they will refuse to cancel and force you to pay for the full term — even if you barely used it for a few days.

Their influencer database is full of outdated, inaccurate, and fake data, scraped illegally from social media platforms without permission.
Most of the creator profiles are dead accounts, fake engagement, wrong emails — absolutely not reliable for any serious business.

And when you try to cancel?
They start sending threatening emails and debt collectors chasing you across different agencies, trying to harass you into paying for a broken product you didn’t even use.

This company uses predatory sales and billing practices and should be avoided at all costs.
There are hundreds of better and more ethical influencer platforms out there.
Don’t fall into their trap — once you give them your signature, they will hassle you for years.

Minor issues but overall excellent

Our experience with Upfluence has been overall very positive. The platform offers powerful tools and extensive data that have improved our influencer marketing campaigns. We did face a minor issue when one of our coupon codes leaked, which affected our stats. While this was an inconvenience, the platform's support team assisted us in resolving the issue. Despite this hiccup, Upfluence remains an excellent tool that we rely on heavily.
