After battling hormonal/cystic acne for a year I decided to take the plunge with Roaccutane and Treat direct. I was nervous about taking Roaccutane, but the doctor eased all of my worries during my initial consultation and offered advice for coping with side effects as well as ensuring me that we would always alter my dosage according to any side effects I was experiencing. I got sent the blood test sample kits and pregnancy tests which have to be raken monthly. The instructions were simple and easy to follow and you are provided with prepqid envelopes to send your test kit back. After being checked and cleared, my first batch of medicarion got sent to me. I started on a low dose which was to be uppes monthly, depending on how i was coping with the side effects and if i felt comfortable with a higher dose. As each month passed and the higher my dosage got, i found my skin, lips and hair become drier, but with that came less breakouts and clear skin. I'm now nearly at the end of my treatment and can honestly say I'm so happy I've done it, yes the were the dreaded side effects of dry skin and lips but my skin is clear and I haven't had a breakout since month 2. I wish I'd found treatdirect sooner. I had been stuck on an NHS waiting list for over a year and after searching for a private option I finally discovered treatdirect. I tried Nuffield and other online options however I found that treatdirect were by far the cheapest option for private and also the easiest to get started with. There was no extra charge for being female which was refreshing as I had found that most private places were trying to charge extortionate prices for pregnancy tests.

I’ve tried a lot for my acne, it was tough, nothing worked, from many antibiotics to over the counter products. It was an on going battle for almost 10years.

The waiting list for the NHS was too long, but even when I finally have an appointment, they’ve decided that my acne was ‘mild’ and so the case was closed.

Before I start with the treatment, I have all kinds of acne on my face, neck and back. I have pimples, papules, blackheads, whiteheads, and Nodules. Any issues or question I have I know they are at the end of a phone or email chain. I was a bit cautious at first because when I was checking Treatdirect out, it didn't have that many reviews or social media following however treatdirect has been an amazing experience for me. 3 months on from my last dose and I haven't had a big breakout since. I've had a couple of small spots here and there but they tend to resolve within 3 days.

I'm a pharmacist so I knew what to expect in terms of dosing and I was very happy with the way my dose was titrated up and managed during my treatment. I did have some side effects such a dry lips and muscle aches/pains however the dryness subsided after 2 months of treatment and the muscle aches/pains disappeared after I finished my course of treatment.

The whole team were very helpful and professional - I needed a letter for the medicines I was taking on holiday and my Dr was able to write one for me the next day. I also had a flare up of dermatitis which I sent photos to the team and I got a response from my Dr the next day with how to manage it and it worked.

Upon being discharged, I was asked to write a review about my experience and was asked to write a 5 star review. I wish i had done this sooner. So much time and money wasted on useless prescriptions, over the counter stuff and vitamins and teas etc etc which never worked.
