Back in 2017 we had our front and back doors replaced by Thistle Doors and were absolutely delighted with them!
Fast forward to May 2025 and we contacted Thistle because the door handles required to be tightened and this was carried out promptly and efficiently the very next week....excellent service we thought but at that time photos were taken because something had caused very small "bubbles" to appear on the outside of both doors!
We were amazed when somebody from Thistle phoned us to let us know that we were to get replacement doors fitted and within the week two very pleasant young men appeared and did just that...two new doors were fitted with absolutely no fuss and as importantly to me, no mess!
Nothing was too much trouble for them and they only left when they knew that we were completely satisfied with both doors, and we were!
I should add that of course they took the two original doors with them!
I can't recommend Thistle highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again myself should the need arise!

Beware 8 weeks on still waiting on kitchen arrival.once they get your deposit u don’t exist never nobody available absolute nightmare.

can understand the amount of 1 star reviews, had them doing our kitchen 5 years ago, had them back for repairs a few times, about to get another contractor to rip out the flooring, as all the joints cracked due to Thistle not screeding the floor properly before putting flooring down, called out a plumber to repair leaks in cupboard, they also broke the lock mechanism in my back door , which they so called repaired but failed a week later and so ended up repairing it myself. If you want a trouble-free kitchen installed, go elsewhere

Fitters were efficient, friendly and cleaned up well afterwards.

We recently had a full bathroom refurb with bath removal and shower installation and are very happy with the work. Thanks to Rebekah for the design and Jan and all the trades for making it happen.
If the final snagging hadn't been delayed it would have been 5 stars all the way! Great job, great team.

This for a conservatory conversion to a flat roof with glass lantern replacing perspex. Two walls fully bricked. All to make the room usable through the year. Every one involved, from initial survey, design, project management, joiners, electricians, coating and brickwork where without exception competent and very pleasant. We had a couple of quotes which thistle was competitive. We went with them due to previous work. We will be using them again. On the negative they did over promise on delivery which was missed by a couple of months. It was not due to weather but due to delayed start that made weather a major factor. I suspect there is an element of who shouts the loudest in getting your job finished. This is all pretty standard though and no different to other companies we have used. Again... totally recommend

Highly recommend Thistle Home Improvements. I gave them a really challenging project and they were outstanding. The standard of workmanship, service and aftercare far exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend them and I will definitely use them again.

We visited Thistle’s showroom in Bridge of Don to look at their front door range. We were made to feel welcome from their friendly staff and proceed with an order for a new front door.

Thistle don’t rely on contractors for installation and have their own installers. Their employee that carry out the installation done a very good job installing our new front door in difficult weather conditions. We are really happy with the door installation and service in general from Thistle.

We had cladding fitted to our house and we are delighted ,work carried out and site tidied up after them ,no hesitation in recommending thistle to anybody many thanks to Franco and his mates for doing a wonderfull job also thanks to amber in office for keeping us informed

I chose Thistle for my replacement patio doors as I had been very pleased with my previous experience when they replaced all my windows around 12 years ago. Their high quality of workmanship and first class service has absolutely been maintained. From the moment I walked into their showroom to enquire about the patio doors right through to completion of the work I felt genuinely valued as a customer and the turnaround time from ordering to installation was actually a bit quicker than anticipated. Amber kept me well informed in advance of installation and the guys that came to do the work were excellent - a very neat job, no mess left behind and they ensured I was satisfied with everything before leaving. I didn’t know before I went to see them that I would receive a returning customer discount which demonstrates the value they place on customer loyalty. And as an added bonus, they replaced a handle I had recently broken on one of my windows free of charge - it was outside the 10 year guarantee period so they were under no obligation to do that. It might seem like a little thing but it just further demonstrates the value they place on customer relationships. Delighted with my new patio doors - I won’t hesitate to use them again or to recommend them.

Thistle are professional and helpful from start to finish, supplied and fitted replacement patio and balcony doors and double glazed windows to replace 40 year old units. Completed to the agreed schedule and budget (actually ahead of schedule). Turned up on time on and very respectful of our property taking great care around the home. They politely answered the many questions we had as the installation progressed. Very pleased with the final result and consider it money well spent!

Supply & installation of a new Front Door and Double Glazed Units were completed in a very professional way.

Unfortunately, one of the Double Glazed Units was damaged in transit but the unit was replaced and fitted successfully

Thistle? More like Thorn in my side.
Worst building experience of my life.
Every single aspect of the build had errors, all of which had to be corrected multiple times resulting in arguments, being shouted at by staff and threats of court action. Very poor attention to detail, shoddy workmanship and delay after delay resulting in a remarkably poor experience that was also very expensive. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Seriously, if you read their review pre-2020 they are fine, the majority after this are an absolute disaster. I can't stress this enough, DO NOT LET THISTLE ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR PROPERTY.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. “Project manager” laughed when giving unreasonable timelines that could not be challenged. Tried to charge for extra doors when not needed. They get as much money from you up front so you can’t go anywhere else. Had to come back three times as the work was not up to standard. Whole project took more than a year to complete as they always had other “priority” work to do before ours despite paying over the odds which we would normally assume would guarantee some quality and attention.

Asked for a quote to supply some wall panels. (No fitting or other parts required).
Was quoted £2400.
I got them from somewhere else local for £1200.
How on earth can they justify this quote??
Can’t begin to imagine how over inflated the quote would be had they actually done the bathroom for us.

Got patio doors and main doors installed years ago, leaks everytime heavy rain... got few service visits not much improvement, avoid using them.
