Achieved planning in a short time. Kept me informed every step of the way. Very professional. Would highly recommend.

We initially used a different company to help with our first planning application, and although very knowledgeable and professional, it didn’t seem like our small project was worthy of their full attention.
So, with our second application we spoke to The Rural Planning Co. And what a difference!
From the start, there was attention to detail and sound advice, and when we were given to Justin it was like a breath of fresh air.
What can I say…. It’s been a long and hard road to get to the final decision.
We were working with what seemed to be the most awkward and unresponsive LPA in the country.
Justin was a god send. He’s friendly with a great personality and his determination and patience shone through and eventually won the day. He talked me through every step of the way, used his own extensive expertise and sought the correct experts in other fields when needed, he took care of everything from start to finish.

I cant thank the Rural planning co enough they made our dream self build project come true. From first point of contact with Hannah we approached her with the idea of a self build project with 2 properties on a very sentimental peace of land to our family which we knew wasn't going to be an easy task from the off. very quickly Hannah came up with a solution on which way to attack the application and appointed us to Justin who is a great asset to their team. His knowledge is amazing and knew exactly how to handle the application looking into every detail to get the correct information which gave us a very strong application.

yes it wasn't a quick planning application but we knew exactly where we stood with cost and the team did everything in there power to get this application approved and lets face it with one of the most awkward local planning authorities around. So much so near by neighbors have asked for the details of the rural planning co as they have not been able to get simple extensions on there properties through in the same local area.

We started our planning appeal with 3, 4, 5… 10 pages of ranting at the LPA for refusing our planning application which was for the use of a small piece of land within Green Belt for subsistence farming; a quirky and unusual application to which the LPA took a strong negative position.
We were lucky to find Justin de Vries, of The Rural Planning Company. Justin understood our situation and embraced the challenge of trying to overcome the LPAs decision at appeal.
Justin showed strong empathy with our predicament, was prompt and clear with his communication, accepted our unusual lifestyle motives, and gave excellent and pragmatic advice. He was able to put us in touch with an equally understanding and supportive Ecologist to bolster our appeal.
We now have a saying “channel your inner Justin”… meaning “stay calm, think it through, and come up with an intelligent and succinct response without getting angry”… and it works!
Getting professional support initially felt costly in relation to the size of our development but at all times we have felt that we have been getting more than we were paying for; without Justin’s help we have no doubt that we would not have been successful in our appeal.
