I absolutely love the lowdown! The website is easy to navigate, and it’s such a relief to find real, honest reviews about every different form of contraception.

The contraceptive compare tool is brilliant - it really helped me understand my options while I’m still looking for what contraceptive pills work best for me.

Everything is clear, reliable and unbiased, and I couldn’t have asked for a better resource. No improvements needed at all - it’s perfect as it is!

Having tried for a baby for over a year without success, we realized something wasn't right. We turned to the NHS for the standard tests, but the process left us feeling bewildered and emotionally drained. Then we had a meeting with Kate Davies, who was incredibly supportive and insightful. My only regret is that our time with her wasn't longer. She clarified some of our ongoing issues and guided us on the next steps. We plan to book another session with her once we've followed her recommendations. For anyone feeling lost and uncertain about their next move, consulting with her is definitely a wise choice.

Seeking emergency contraception, I opted for The Low Down to sidestep the awkwardness at my nearby Boots Chemist, having always appreciated their website. I was thoroughly impressed by the simplicity of their service. The pill arrived within two days, ensuring everything was sorted. The Low Down gave me a reassuring sense of control, even when it felt elusive. Previously, I've also utilized this site to obtain birth control for international travel, which proved to be incredibly smooth and straightforward. This outstanding service perfectly matches my needs for contraceptive solutions.

I had an appointment with Dr Nikki Ramskill and I highly recommend this service to anyone seeking answers in the womens health space. Dr Ramskill was very knowledgeable, personable and non judgemental and made me feel empowered by the available birth control choices. She answered all my questions and concerns in depth and clearly has an in-depth understanding of women's health. I found this appointment to be a huge relief after seeing a couple of GPs who did not have the same specialist knowledge or time to assist me to the same level as the lowdown offers. I think it is worth the fee for peace of mind, education and getting advice from specialists. I am so glad I did not delay any longer.

I waited too long to make this appointment... Dr Nikki was amazing. She listened to me, was very kind, validated how I felt and made me feel completely normal. She has given me the courage to reconnect with my body and that I have choices. Thank you

I decided to use the Lowdown as it's become completely impossible to get an appointment with a GP. It's great being able to get contraception in the post without the need to see a GP, although it would obviously be much better if I could get it free on the NHS like I'm supposed to be able to!

Prices are more reasonable than I initially would have expected and delivery is quick. I first ordered a one-off 3 month supply of the Evra patch to see if it suited me before setting up a subscription, which I went on to do. The only bad thing I have to say is that they use the same scammy technique as many companies these days of making it cheaper if you get a subscription, knowing that people are likely to forget to cancel even if they don't want it anymore. It should be the same price regardless of whether you choose to subscribe or purchase on an ad-hoc basis.

Also, the subscription doesn't fully work for me as it's sent based on having an 'off' week each month but I use it continuously, so it doesn't last until the next lot is due to be sent and I have to then buy another one-off at the higher price which is really annoying.

Overall I would recommend them if you're struggling to get an appointment with a GP as it is a convenient service. It's just a shame about the subscriptions not working for all scenarios, and having to pay more for not having a subscription.

The doctor I spoke to was lovely! So helpful and so kind.

After trying for a baby for over a year, we knew there was something wrong. We went to the NHS and got all the usual tests. However, the progression and delivery left as feeling lost, confused and very emotional. We had a session with Kate Davies, and she couldn’t have been more helpful. The only bad thing I have to say is that we didn’t have long enough talking to her. She shed light on some of the issues we have been having an helped us understand what are next steps were. Once we complete them, we will definitely book another session with her to talk again. If you’re feeling confused and don’t know what to do next. It’s definitely a great option to have a session with her.

Customer service is the best I’ve ever experienced, they are so helpful and understanding. Very convenient being able to order contraception without having to wait, and try it straight away. They have proper GPs and you need to give them info to make sure it’s safe for you. It’s totally legit and comes with a prescription sticker just like a normal prescription, it’s just that the GP is remote. Their website has loads of useful reviews and info. Highly recommend.

So glad I finally booked an appointment with the Lowdown, Dr Zaakira Mahomed really listened to my concerns and talked me through the different options for treatment. Really great to talk to a Dr who is more familiar with PCOS!

Really easy to book. Dr Nikki was brilliant and clearly knowledgeable. She’s given me a clear plan of what to do to help my peri menopausal symptoms using a mix of HRT that will suit me. After the appointment I wasn’t 100% sure when I read the post appointment notes so I got another quick call back the very next day to go over things. Thanks so much. Fantastic all the way through from booking appointments to the chat with the excellent doctor. It’s a shame that women need this service bc wouldn’t it be great if all doctors were as knowledgeable about women’s health and actually listened to women patients, but here we are. This is a truly amazing service to fill that gap. I got sound, evidence-based advice and written notes to take to my gp to organise treatment options. Couldn’t be happier with this experience!

Kathryn Levy is incredible, she really listens to you and explains things very clearly, giving helpful insight. I'm honestly so grateful. Find a suitable appointment time was also very easy with the Lowdown through chatting with them on WhatsApp.

I pretty much won’t go anywhere else for contraception or advice now. I’ve been using/ following The Lowdown since not long after they started and recommend it to everyone all the time.

It’s a relief to not have to worry about ordering and stock piling my contraceptive. I use the lowdown to send me 3 months of contraceptive patches every 3 months and it’s never been easier to stay baby scare free!!!
