Generally worst car dealer in England. No conctact with them at all. I collected my car at 4th March and is broken with EML since 5th. I was fighting 7 weeks to get my car repaired by them. My car is with them for last 2 months and they dont reply for emails and calls. I requested to reject car by my finance company.
Buyer beware
Buyer beware - I made a deposit on a incorrectly advertised car and when I realised the car was not as described requested a return of my deposit - in this case £1,000. I was told it would be in my account before the end of that day. I am still waiting 3 days later and when I phone it gets cut off, my emails are ignored and the live chat also ignored. As per the other poor reviews this seems to be this company's modus operandi. I have no option but to resort to legal action against this company to retrieve this debt owed.
By far the worst trading experience…
By far the worst trading experience I've had in the last 15 years, they didn't pay for my car for almost 2 months and I had to pay a fine to the finance company. There really isn't a person in charge. Answering the phone is really awful. Most importantly, be very, very careful with the Iranian group that works there. Please take this warning seriously, my only hope is that even if I can save one person from doing business with this group.

At time of writing, I have been waiting for a refund of over £6000 for over 3 weeks, with no confirmation that I will ever get my money back.
Agreed to purchase a car EA19MUC, paid deposit then paid approx. 6k. No receipt, no invoice and no acknowledgment despite several requests. The date proposed by them for delivery came and went without contact.
When I finally got in touch with salesman, I advised that I was no longer interested and had decided to go elsewhere.
Was assured by the salesman that I’d get a refund. No contact for two weeks (despite several attempts). Received a call a week ago trying to resell the car to me. I advised that I had completely lost faith in the company and needed my money back. Was advised 5-7 days. Now at day 8 and over 3 weeks from cancellation.
Luckily paid deposit on CC so section 75 in progress.
After a good initial in-person showroom experience, I am appalled at the lack of service. The car has been re-listed for sale but I still don’t have a refund.
Any business that can treat customers this way is a no go for me.

Reason for complaint - I agreed to purchase the vehicle providing the windscreen was replaced, this was agreed by the ‘boss’. When we picked up the vehicle the windscreen had been replaced and didn’t think anything more about it. That is until one frosty morning a few weeks later and tried to activate the heated windscreen button to demist the screen. The button lite up but nothing else happened. On checking the hand book and looking at the windscreen it appears it is not heated as you are unable to see the filaments inside the glass.

Further to previous review I received the usual generic message saying please phone or email us to resolve. Phone calls ignored and further email ignored. Never have I experienced a company as bad as The Car Group. I would recommend anyone considering buying a car from this disgraceful company to source elsewhere or at the very least arrange an independent inspection prior to purchase. Also be wary of the 5 star reviews, I was encouraged to write one on the spot on the basis of being entered into a cash prize…total bulls..t, the offer to enter was withdrawn during the shocking experience on car collection. Never in my life had such a bad experience purchasing anything and I’ve now given up receiving the pathetic credit they promised to rectify all the faults the car has. 82 point RAC check a complete joke.

Following on from my wife's negative review and The Car Groups 'copy and paste' reply to her and all the other clients that they have treated so badly, I forward this reply to The Car Group.....
You say in your reply that you are truly sorry. If you were truly sorry, you would be trying to resolve our issue and all the others with a more direct and personal communication with everyone. Not a 'copy and paste', generic reply to negative reviews on Trustpilot.
If you value people's feedback, then you would have improved your customer service a long time ago.
You have invited my wife, Emma, to have a conversation to discuss our concerns. What an absolute joke and further insult this is! We have been trying to open up dialogue with you regarding returning our car since early February and you have completely ignored us. You have also ignored an in-court adviser who has also tried to open up dialogue with you on our behalf and now you are ignoring our
trading standards representative.
You go on to say that our satisfaction is your top priority. We are completely unsatisfied with the faulty car that you supplied us with and your complete and utter disregard to our right, by consumer law, to return the car to you and receive a full refund has been absolutely unacceptable.
If you really care about looking after your clients, you should be contacting them, not asking them to contact you - you have our contact details. We have called and emailed you more times than we care to think about and it has taken hours upon hours of our time, caused a huge amount of stress and we have been ignored or lied to on every occasion.
Sort your customer care out, sort this problem for us and stop taking advantage of clients who come to you in good faith and purchase cars.

***AVOID!*** – it is not worth the distress this company will cause you.
We are being left feeling absolutely demoralised after we purchased a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso from The Car Group on 29th January 2024.
The day after receiving the car, we discovered the first of many faults; the aircon/demist hot and cold fan was completely dead. We also became aware of a warning alarm and light indicating that both front doors were open when they were, in fact, secure. As we are not local to TCG and we had travelled 300 miles to receive the car, TCG advised us to book the car in for diagnostic with an RAC approved garage – we had to arrange this ourselves which took hours of phoning around many garages to find a space.
During this time, we discovered a diagnostic sheet in the glove compartment of the car, listing various faults with the vehicle – included was the faulty fan and the door open indicator (among many other faults!). TCG were clearly very aware of these faults prior to sale yet chose not to declare them to us.
We also discovered one morning that the drivers footwell was completely flooded with water, with water dripping from behind the pedals. We mopped this up, but after a brief 5 minute drive, the footwell was once again absolutely flooded. We reported this further issue to TCG and advised our local garage to investigate.
After investigation, it was discovered that the scuttle drains were both completely blocked, with over 2” of rainwater trapped behind the scuttle panel. This water had been spilling over into the heater motor of the car leading to excessive damage. Further to this, over £1100 worth of repairs to fix the 'open door' indicator and the fan were also required, however we were advised that it was highly likely that further expensive repairs would be required to completely fix all issues as it would be impossible to determine how much damage the water had caused. The garage advised us to return the car to the dealership for refund.
On 8th February, we officially requested to return the car to TCG for a full refund as per their return policy. Since then, The Car Group have stopped all contact with us. Our emails have been ignored, our letters have been ignored, when we try to phone them we are fobbed off and hung up on. We have had an in-court advisor, through Citizens Advice Bureau, attempt to open dialogue with them, but he has also been completely ignored. We now have a representative from our local Trading Standards Office attempting to contact them, but she is also being ignored. She tried to phone them, but when her call was being transferred to the manager, the call rang out.
We are now approaching our 3rd month of trying to get the car returned for refund, but with no response at all from the company. The car has developed more and more faults to add to the list during this time;
1) Broken aircon/fan
2) Faulty ‘open door’ indicators
3) Hill start assist doesn’t work
4) ‘Seatbelts not worn’ indicator alarm and light is faulty – indicates passengers aren’t wearing seatbelts even though there are no passengers present!
5) Mould growing in the boot because of the damp and lack of temperature control
6) Intermittent locking mechanism – sometimes it’s impossible to lock the car, sometimes it locks itself while we are sat in it!
7) The boot randomly opens, and sometimes fails to close properly
8) Second key doesn’t work
We have paid a further £100+ on top of the price of the car to have the scuttle drains cleared (which TCG have failed to reimburse) and we are stuck with a car that is completely unreliable and borderline unsafe.
Mersedeh, Gully, Mehdi, Hamid – all have ignored our repeat emails.
Our Trading Standards representative is now liaising with TCGs local Trading Standards Office and we are planning to take things further. We have also had various other TCG victims contact us with their complaints – all details of which we are now passing on to Trading Standards. There is even a Facebook Group for ‘The Car Group Victims’.
The nightmare is not over for us, so we urge people not to use The Car Group as they seem to not care about their clients and they breach Consumer Rights.

Got a good deal from Murt and Zoe
Bought the car over the phone after viewing with Murt on FaceTime. He did a great job. Paid a deposit and arrived two days later to pick up. Was met by Murt and his new assistant Zoe and we went to view the car in the large showroom. Riz did all the paperwork and was very helpful with all the details and sorting the history etc. Seems to be a good professional company.
