This morning I called TD Auto Finance to request a payment deferral while the dealership processes the payoff on my traded vehicle. The experience was frustrating. Despite being connected to a Spanish-speaking representative (allegedly), the Spanish was far from fluent. Every simple yes or no question was met with lengthy legal disclaimers that added no value to the conversation. Getting a straight answer was impossible, and the call was completely unproductive.
The end result is that no solution was reached. I will have to make one additional monthly payment on a car I no longer own, which will eventually be refunded.

This company doesn't even deserve a star. They won't work with you. If you're having any issues when you call because you realize that a payment's not going to come out properly, they will not work with you on creating a payment arrangement. They will basically tell you that sucks to be you and you're going to get charged with late fees NSF fees and they still expect you to pay it. They do not pull their Auto payments on time. It's always multiple days late and that is apparently your fault not theirs. Sometimes even a week late. They don't take accountability for how late that their payments come out. Saying that that's just how it works as somebody who's worked in in setting up auto payments for other companies. I can assure you that that is not how it works. It should come out on the day that you have scheduled the payment to come out on. The company will harass you and act as if you are the problem but won't take any accountability for the company's mistakes. I've been waiting all month for them to take the last two payments and they have yet to do so. But will call me and harass me telling me it's my fault the money's there. Take your money if you want your money at this point or stop harassing me!! I've called up my car dealer and will be going to find a new car so I can get out of this loan. I will never work with TD finance again. They take zero accountability and they are not following the law when it comes to setting up payments. What they are doing is illegal.
Fraudulent autopay system
They claim that somehow every February 13th for the past 3 years the bank denied my payment so they took me off of autopay with no phone call. No notification, no contact whatsoever. Then even after I made a $3,000 payment to catch up, they still marked me as 30 days past late. Now I have a 7-year credit hit. I only have five more payments left to pay off the vehicle. I've paid on time for the past 5 years .

Worst experience!!! They are a fraudulent company. I have set up auto payment multiple times they continuously charge me a late fee because their system is not working. I have made multiple phone calls to them with Little to no help. I will say the staff is always nice on the phone, but unable to help me. Explain that it is fraud to charge someone late fees constantly when they are set up on auto payments. They have totally dismissed my concerns that their system is clearly having technical issues.
Instead of washing the late fee, they insist on me paying it, even though I have had over five phone conversations that have been recorded on the same topic.

Horrible company to deal with. Charged us an extra payment when the car was paid off already. Couldn't process the refund for 4 months. Customer rep, Miguel, refused to provide his full name nor employee id number, refused transferring call to his supervisor, and locked the account. Nightmare!
Customer Service is Lacking
I needed to pay off my loan. I refinanced my truck with a credit union who mailed off the check to TD. TD financial is dragging their feet in processing the payment. I called twice and during one of those calls I spoke to Nevina. She was extremely rude and would not do anything to help me and my situation. I simply asked her if she could get the check that was delivered and start the process to get it posted to my account. She would not. I would not ever use this company for financing ever again.
THEY DON'T DO MUCH RESEARCH
THEY APPARENTLY ONLY USE TRANSUNION FOR RESEARCH, AND AS A RESULT THEY MISS OUT ON A LOT OF DATA. SINCE TRANSUNION IS BLOCKED BY COURT ORDER FROM REPORTING ON SOME PEOPLE, THE REPORTS ARE NOT ADEQUATE FOR DECISION MAKING.
Incompetent Staff at TD Bank Auto Finance Title…
The staff at TD Bank Auto Finance Title department are very incompetent, and the Manager at the resolution department was very rude and hanged up on me. Three times in six months, I purchased vehicles utilizing dealer financing to obtain a low price, and the incompetents at TD sent out unnotarized Lien release. Avoid TD Auto finance.
TD Auto Finance /No release of lien on my paid off vehicle
If I could give a zero I would. Purchased a car in 2022. Paid it off 3/2026. Was told I would have the release of lien in 10 business days. Have sent numerous emails only responded to 4 of them. Called on the 10th business day and the representative was extremely rude. Sent an email on the 11th business day that I would be reaching out to my attorney, Better Business Bureau, NYS Department of Finance. The next day I went to a TD Bank branch and the customer service rep. at the bank reached out to try and help me with this matter. On the 12th business day they sent NYS DMV the electronic release of lien. NYS requires release of lien be sent 3 days after cleared final payment. They didn't even do the electronic release to DMV until they knew I was reaching out to multiple agencies and my attorney. I want to trade this car in but dealer needs release of lien (wet signature). I lost out on the March incentives and interest rate and every day I have this car the value depreciates. I sent the a copy of a Demand for Release of Lien via email today. Hoping they respond to my last email and have decided to overnight the paperwork so I don't have to spend more unnecessary money to get this situation rectified. I offered to pay to have it expedited and overnighted. At this point they should overnight it at their expense as a show of good faith. The dealer isn't going to hold the car for me until DMV send out a new clean title. TD Auto Finance please overnight my Release of Lien so I can drive my new car home.

My mother bought a car 2 years ago and financed with TD Auto Finance. She is now unable to drive and we need to sell the car. All we wanted to do was get the balance owing. My mother is 83 and hard of hearing even with her hearring aids in. She asked the man on the line if he could just speak to me. No. they would not do that. Never had that issue before. She was so frustrated and upset by the end of the call. Thanks TD for having consideration for you older clientele.
This company is trash
This company are gangsters. Look at all the 1 star ratings. They received my extended warranty prorated refund in the amount of $7k and kept it. Then ignored my attempts to collect. I even confirmed the disbursement from the warranty company and they still denied it.

I regret ever dealing with TD Auto Finance. In my experience, their customer service has been very poor—representatives were often rude and unhelpful, and it felt like they didn’t have the information needed to properly assist me.

I purchased an extended service contract which when I traded it in I provided the documentation to get a refund of the unused part of the extended warranty.This is the 6th of March and I started the claim last November 2025 and now its almost headed to mid March.They keep telling me I will get it within the next 30 days. This is rediculous. If you finance you car with these people watch out. I am not bashing a business here but if they wanted money they would want it right now. The refund money had to be sent by the dealer first and they held it for 10 days on this finance institution. the whole deal is garbage as far as I am concerned. I asked the check be sent on overnight or something and they said I have to have an account with UPS. So TDAuto finance I would like my money please.I am not bashing this company at all I just don't think it should take almost 4 months to get my money refunded. Now it's not their money i's mine.
