A Life Changing Experience
For my first time traveling alone as an 18 year old, and my first time doing umrah as well, beginning this trip was definitely anxiety filled at the start and I didn’t know what to expect. My intentions going on this trip were to please Allah and to focus on Ibadah, and Tarteel helped me execute that the best way I possibly could. Everything was there for us as a means for everyone to make the most out of this trip. The hotels, the food, the activities and places we visited were all perfect for what you would want when visiting the Holy Lands of our beloved Prophet (saw). These past couple of days I’ve spent in Mecca and Medina have changed my life more than anything else and it’s all thanks to Tarteel Travel and their team. Everyone was welcoming, kind, and helpful and allowed for everyone to feel comfortable throughout this trip. If you’re looking for a travel group or just an umrah trip in general Tarteel Travel is the one, they won’t disappoint!!!

Communication Blocked When It Mattered Most
The “founder,” Mohamed Abu Rayyan, is inflexible and will interfere with communication. A warning to sisters, especially if you need to speak with a sister about personal accommodations. His string of letdowns began when he failed to deliver the Umrah package that I had originally booked. He canceled the Umrah without first discussing it with us, close to the scheduled departure of our flights. It was the 2026 Ramadan last 10 Umrah, during which various other Umrah and Hajj agencies successfully followed through with. Since the airline I was set to fly on during these days was still operating and not issuing refunds, his proposal was to either lose thousands of dollars or transfer the airline ticket to a downgraded package. The ticket was transferred.
Given this disturbance in my original plans, a time-sensitive and personal inquiry arose that I needed to discuss with a sister from the agency. Mohamed Abu Rayyan hung up the phone on me several times and refused to let me speak to a sister. At first, he declined my calls and insisted that I text. I explained that I needed to speak with someone, as it was not something that could simply be handled over text. Strange, he will take your money, make you plead to fix an issue his poor foresight caused. After this obstruction, he answered but demanded that I tell him hurriedly. I made it clear that this was a matter between sisters. I repeatedly tried to reach the sister at the agency through the WhatsApp Business line, but my calls were being intercepted.
A domineering and inflexible character. Would give him zero stars. He failed as an imam and a person in the way he chose to speak and act. I am in my early twenties, and this was my first Umrah. I hope he does not treat others he perceives as vulnerable in this way. If I had known, I would never have booked with Tarteel. I am not interested in a response from Tarteel under this review either. The window to rectify these matters is closed. There are individuals working for Tarteel who are commendable and deserve recognition for doing their best under such leadership. Do not be deceived by a curated image presented on social media. Businesses will throw rose petals at disappointed customers, record it, present polished content, buy followers, and share selective clips to bring in money. After all, it is business.

The Last 10 Days of Ramadan 2026 Umrah group was canceled due to the sudden escalation of conflict in the Middle East, which began on February 28, 2026, only days before the group’s scheduled departure on March 4, 2026. At that time, the situation was rapidly evolving and there was widespread uncertainty regarding flight operations and safety conditions.
As an agency responsible for the wellbeing of our travelers, we made the difficult decision to cancel the journey out of concern for their safety and peace of mind. This decision was not taken lightly.
All travelers in that group were issued full refunds, and this is reflected in reviews posted by travelers around that same period. Some travelers chose not to travel due to the uncertainty, while others asked to be transferred to a later group.
In your case, your booking was handled by our sales manager, Khadija, who spent over an hour speaking with you and your mother during Ramadan to carefully address your concerns and assist you with your options. She remained on the call past our office closing time of 6:30 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time, continuing the conversation even while it was time for her to break her fast, because her priority was ensuring that your situation was resolved properly.
Following that discussion, your reservation was successfully transferred to the April 2026 Umrah package, and because the Ramadan package carried a higher cost, the price difference was refunded to you.
Your review also makes false accusations about the founder of Tarteel Travel, Mohamed Abu Rayyan, suggesting that he interfered with your booking and communication. This claim is not accurate. The founder does not handle sales, reservations, or booking communications. Tarteel Travel operates with a dedicated sales and customer service team responsible for assisting travelers, and your booking was handled entirely by our staff member who worked with you and your mother to resolve the situation.
Your review also claims that our company creates curated images or staged moments on social media that only show hospitality. This claim is incorrect. Our social media documentation reflects the entire journey of our groups, not only hospitality moments. Anyone can review our April 2026 posts and see that the journey was documented from arrival to departure, including seminars, guidance sessions, the guided Umrah, and other group activities.
Hospitality is only one part of what we do. Guidance, lectures, seminars, and the performance of Umrah itself are also documented. Additionally, many clients voluntarily document moments from their journey on their own social media while expressing appreciation for their experience.
Alhamdulillah, the April 2026 Umrah group, the same group your reservation was transferred to, completed their journey successfully. Anyone can review the feedback posted during April 2026, including reviews on Trustpilot from travelers who joined that group, and they will see that the overwhelming majority are positive and reflect satisfaction with the journey and services provided.
Travel disruptions can be frustrating, especially when they affect meaningful journeys like Umrah. However, it is important that feedback reflects the full and accurate context of events. Situations such as wars or sudden travel disruptions are outside the control of any travel agency.

My mother was scheduled to perform…
My mother was scheduled to perform Umrah during Ramadan 2026, a journey that meant so much to our family spiritually and emotionally. Unfortunately, due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East, the trip had to be cancelled for safety reasons. While this was deeply disappointing, we truly appreciate how TARTEEL Travel handled the situation.
From the moment concerns began to rise, TARTEEL Travel remained transparent, responsive, and highly professional. They prioritized the safety and well-being of their clients above everything else, which gave us a lot of peace during an uncertain time. Rather than taking risks or leaving families to figure things out on their own, they made the responsible decision to cancel the trip.
What stood out the most was how smoothly they managed the refund process. They honored their commitment and provided a full refund without unnecessary delays or complications. In situations like this, it’s easy for companies to fall short, but TARTEEL Travel did the opposite, they showed integrity, accountability, and genuine care for their customers.
Although my mother was unable to complete her Umrah this Ramadan, we are grateful that her safety was protected and that we were supported by a company that operates with professionalism and strong values. Our umrah for last 10 days of Ramadan 2026 was compromise by the war situation in the middle region. The travel was canceled for safety reasons and they were very diligent and fully refund everyone in short periode of time.

Upon receipt of our funds back to Tarteel Travel from hotel and airlines, our funds were returned to us in as promised. In addition Tarteel Travel kept us up to date on the process. I went on my first umrah trip this past December with Tarteel Travel. I was nervous being that this was my first umrah experience, especially since I went without knowing anyone. Although I went without knowing anyone I left the trip with family for life! The leaders in Tarteel Travel made sure you were safe, accounted for, and supported. It my first umrah, and alhamdulillah I had a wonderful experience with Tarteel travel. Everything was well organised from flights to accommodation and transport. Good Experience
Overall the experience was good as always. Ramadan is a challenging time because there are alot of people but i think what could have made the experience better is for it to come with Iftar instead of Suhoor. For both Madinah and Makkah it was difficult fasting all day and then having to figure out what to eat especially since we are foreigners and dont know the good spots to eat.
I already came to Umrah with you last year so i was prepared but alot of people mentioned there could be more educational seminars for example having a welcome seminar to talk about janazah prayers and how to do it (in the US we don’t usually have this whereas in Saudi we have them after every prayer), umrah history and reward, how to perform tawaf (which corner it starts and which corner to say rabana atina … prayer), etc.
A second Umrah is not part of the package which is completely understandable but i think for good service you could have someone on your team offer it for some people especially women who are on their menses and are not able to perform umrah with the group. In those cases, i think the staff should accomodate and offer a second umrah to the and if some people want to join they can
These are just suggestions but thanks again for the beautiful experience may Allah SWT reward you all and inshallah i would love to bring my parents next time inshallah . Jazakallah Khairun !!!

Regarding the point about Suhoor being included instead of Iftar, this is a deliberate decision in our Ramadan packages. The reason is that Suhoor time is extended and much more practical for pilgrims. At the hotels, Suhoor typically runs from 12:30 a.m. until around 4:30 a.m., giving travelers several hours to eat comfortably before Fajr. In contrast, Iftar time is very short, and most pilgrims go directly to Maghrib prayer and then prepare for Taraweeh in the Haram. Because of this short window, many people do not have enough time to properly sit and eat before prayers begin. For this reason, Suhoor tends to serve pilgrims better during Ramadan. At the same time, Iftar is available at the hotel for an additional charge, so any traveler who prefers hotel Iftar can easily arrange and pay for it directly at the hotel.
Regarding the educational guidance, we want to clearly confirm that full Umrah guidance was provided. Before the trip, we sent educational video guides explaining the history of Umrah, the starting point of Tawaf, the corners of the Kaaba, when to say “Rabbana Atina fid-dunya hasanah…”, and the full step-by-step process of Umrah. During the journey, we also held a seminar where the Umrah rituals were explained in detail and travelers were given the opportunity to ask questions.
This seminar was conducted and documented, and portions of it were recorded and shared on our Instagram page, clearly showing that the seminar took place. If some individuals did not attend that session, that is outside our responsibility, as the seminar was fully provided to all travelers.
Most importantly, the Umrah itself was performed as a fully guided group experience. Our team leaders guided the group step by step from the beginning of Tawaf until the completion of Sa’i, with the leaders reciting the supplications and the group repeating after them. No one was left alone or without guidance. The entire group performed the Umrah together under direct supervision and instruction from our team.
Regarding Salat al-Janazah and other Islamic teachings, the seminar intentionally focuses on Umrah education, since this is an Umrah journey and our priority is ensuring pilgrims perform Umrah correctly. Including many additional topics beyond Umrah could overwhelm travelers with too much information. However, whenever pilgrims ask questions about other Islamic matters, our team is always happy to answer them.
As for the second Umrah, our program clearly includes one fully guided Umrah, which is the responsibility of our team to facilitate. If travelers wish to perform an additional Umrah, they are welcome to do so on their own, as it is the same process as the first Umrah. However, organizing a second guided Umrah is not part of the package. Additionally, there are scholarly opinions that do not recommend performing multiple Umrahs in the same journey, which is another reason we structure the program around one guided Umrah.
For sisters who experience menses during the scheduled Umrah, we always accommodate them when they contact us directly through our WhatsApp support line at +1 (267) 536-0700. When we receive such a request, our team arranges the necessary assistance so they can perform their Umrah later.
