if someone dies its much faster to pretend to be them than be truthful when you are closing the account

My father has died. I called Talktalk to cancel his mobile contract. There has been no activity on it for a while. If I had simply impersonated him online they would have closed the account straight away but instead they are passing it to a team to contact me in 7 days to close the account. By then it will be too late to prevent them taking the monthly direct debit from his account. The way they close it is that they still have to talk to me about it before closing it. So it may be a while before they call me and I'm available to pick up.

LIES AND LIARS..
I have been with talktalk for a very long time to deserve some special attention.. it did not work... not that much surprised.
on the 2nd of july 25 the broadband has stopped.. after calling them, they spent 3 hours to fixe it.. Well, that what i thought!!.
On the 18/09/25 i experienced the same issue.. I called them, and they took a mickey of me for a good hour and after they decided the issue need an engineer.
They booked me for friday the 19/09/25 between 3 and 6 pm.. through an official txt message plus they txt me the complaint reference for further investigations.( C. P. M 918521).
Friday the 19/09/25
Home at 2.30pm waiting for the talktalk booked engineer from 3 pm to 6 pm..
At 2.45pm had a txt message that the engineer is on his way.
NO Engineer SHOWING UP😡😡😡
5.35 pm had to call them.
AT MY SURPRISE THERE IS NO ENGINIEER HAS BEEN BOOKED AT ALL?!?! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡That is the talktalk customer service answer (go back to the recorded phone calls), she passed me through to the technical support,they said we need to put you through to the complaint team PASS THE BUG..
I looked like an idiot in new york..
THE COMPLAINT TEAM TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINEER CAME AT YOUR DOOR BUT NO BUDDY WERE THERE. 😡😡😡😡😡i had to be halfway dafty to believe that in 2025.. There is such a bad liars.
n 1- We were home my self and my wife around 2.30 pm.
n 2- Talktalk texted me about the booking on the 18/09/25..
n 3- talktalk texted me on the 19/09/25 around 2.40 pm that the engineer Micheal is on his way.
My wife and i decided to cancel the direct debit and seek a new serious and professional provider.. AVOID THE MOST WORST BROADBAND PROVIDER AT ANY COST..
IT SHOULD BE TALKTALK THE LIES PROVIDER.

Diabolical service throughout the organisation

After my service getting steadily worse in the 20 years of being a customer it’s got to the point whet for no reason the broadband drops and noting connects no matter how many times the router is rebooted!

I called Talk Talk customer service and it took me three attempts after navigating the USLESS automated me yes to get through to an equally USLESS representative!! She could not advise if there was an outage in the area and insisted I need to speak to Technical Support!

After waiting in another queue I explained that my service is constantly dropping off up to 3 times a month and eventually comes on!

She suggested that I may need a booster or wi Fi extender

Now I’m not Einstein but if there is no Broadband coming into the house what use is an extender!! I tried with a spare router and ADL cable and nothing!!

All she tried to get me to do is upgrade my package to get her commission!! No interest in addressing the issue I called about !

After wasting almost an hour I requested this is escalated as a complaint and a manager call me back!

The call followed next day from a supposed manager giving me more waffle about being on an old package and if I upgrade I might not experience this issue !!

Again I explained my conversation with his associate and said Had no confidence so would not commit but would consider a rolling contact.

He said he would see if this was possible and came back to confirm it would be.

I then said so what happens if the service improves for a few months then is dire again? Would I be able to cancel with no penalties? To which he replied no obviously no comprehension of what a rolling contract is! To add insult to injury when I was asking questions he had the audacity to say in a sarcastic tone OH MY GOD!! Well sorry I’m asking g you to do your job and help me as a customer!!

As you would expect no joy no help no empathy just a terrible service and over inflated prices! Needless to say explored options found a better package at 30% less than I’m paying

Not polite not helpful

Service not helpful, not kind, disrespectful. Cancelletion difficult. Does anybody know if you get no internet whatever reason is you are suggested by team to cancel ..you need to pay punishment. Be careful. There are some good, nice and helpful internet providers on the market.

Useless customer service

I was a TalkTalk customer for many years with broadband and mobile. Recently just mobile. They used to be excellent. But now a simple request to reset my voicemail PIN has turned into a 2 week fiasco. Second tier customer service, such as it is, seems to be outsourced to an outfit called Lapwing who operate from a very noisy call centre and appear, when I could hear what they were saying, to have no idea what they are doing. I was told that mobile services are outsourced to Vodafone but neither TalkTalk front line agents nor Vodafone seem aware of this. I’m switching mobile supplier.

Billing after contract terminated!

Talk Talk continues to charge me monthly installments despite the contract terminated in July 2025. I have written two emails complaing about this fraudulent behavior and they give me excuses instead of doing the right thing! Very poor service all round!

Terrible

I have been with this company for six years and have always had problems. The customer service is terrible. Last month, I got an email telling me, "Sorry to see you go." I hadn't requested to leave, so I rang them up to be told, "Don't worry, it's probably a slamming thing." I rang three times to make sure it was canceled. I woke up on Tuesday to my service being disconnected. TalkTalk's solution is to go through sales and sign up again. I have raised a complaint and reported it to Ofcom due to this being totally unacceptable. They rang me back to say I had been a victim of slamming. I queried why it hadn't been canceled. Their answer was, "Oh, it didn't get put through correctly, sorry about that," but that hasn't resolved the issue of me being left with no internet, which I need for work.

I have been a loyal customer 20 years

I have been a loyal customer 20 years, and TalkTalk used to be a company with a quite good customer service. Not anymore, now I don’t know enough about Ai, but for customer service until it is greatly improved, it’s not suitable for use in this roll.
I spent a total of two and a half hours simply to cancel my account (because I don’t like being ripped off) it’s still not complete, but hopefully after tomorrow TalkTalk will be just a bad memory. If there’s a problem I will certainly be back to tell you.

Useless and incompetent - avoid!

I contacted Talk Talk on the 1st August to tell them I was moving on the 11th August and to cancel my broadband and phone line. I was on the phone an hour sorting it out and I understood it to be actioned. Then on the 5th August I received an email from Talk Talk saying they’d had a request from Plusnet because I was transferring to them. I phoned again and explained again that I would no longer be at the address after the 11th and this must be the new owners. I was assured this was sorted and my contract would be cancelled.
I was then charged on the 15th August but didn’t realise and then I received an email saying my payment for September would be due so I contacted customer service.
They said because the new owners haven’t taken over the line my account has been reactivated unbeknown to me. The only way they could cancel it was if I contacted the new owners to get them to sort it out. So they are expecting me to continue paying for a service I’m no longer using because I’ve vacated the property. I’ve tried to get someone to deal with it properly and it has now been escalated to the complaints department.
It has taken lots of time and hassle to get to this stage. It is ridiculous that a simple cancellation can become so complicated. I’ve always had a bad experience with Talk Talk and was only with them because they took over Shell energy.
Avoid this incompetent company at all costs.

After being with talktalk for 13 years…

After being with talktalk for 13 years today I decided to change provider as my contract was up with talktalk. My internet has always worked fine it just wasn't up to spec to run my sons pc, and i found a better deal with Vodafone (who are also better for my area). Surprise surprise when I arrived home from work this afternoon my internet is not working! After speaking with there live chat agent she tells me my rooter is broke! When it was fine when I left for work this morning. I have to wait 3-5 business days for a new rooter and have to return my old rooter or i get charged. Its only 14days till my new provider takes over! So i will have to send back another rooter the following week. What a absolute mess around.

Day 19 still no internet

Well it's day 19 still no internet still mot a cluevwhen or even if they can get me on line .
But sent me another e mail asking me to restore my direct debit payment. Lol 😅 😆 🤣 this pathetic hapless company want me to pay them for a service they have FAILED to supply for 19 days and counting See you in court LIE LIE ie talk talk .AVOID THIS COMPANY THEYCARE THE WORST BROADBAND SUPPLIER IN TJE COUNTRY DONT GO ANYWHERE NEAT THEM .ANDVTHEY ARE COMPULSIVE LIARS

TalkTalk is what TalkTalk do..Talk with NO ACTION on TERRIBLE OVERCHARGING

Despite negative reviews given on Trust Pilot, letters to their CEO [4], considerable emails to their we are "Here to Help" customer service, a long long discussion with their chat box [ whereby they again were apologetic about their bad service and assured and PROMISED to call me 3 times at specified times to sort this out. TalkTalk have still yet to compensate regards my overcharging over past years but more so for the £54 a month sent to me 4 months ago..Ive now received a new bill from them telling me on the 15th Sept, THEY STILL intend to overcharge me again and take the overcharge £54 from my account.
If your going to sort this please use emails or give me a time when senior management can call me and then hopefully the promises continually made by TalkTalk can lead to fruition and finally get sorted.. Very very disappointed at TalkTalks attitude. Ive continually made it clear I cannot just take a random call when I give my time to volunteer counselling. Ive been given specific times from TalkTalk before and always been available.Ive been promised senior TalkTalk management response with specific times and they don't call back or HONOUR the times TALK TALK have given me..Come on TalkTalk your reviews for customer service are ALL time lows. You are not showing responsibility, empathy to my situation [ a situation TalkTalk have created ] or care or concern to a loyal customer !!!

My mother has paid the 50 pounds subscription to use here talk talk account and we still can not get on to here emails and no one picks up a phone call woukd be nice to speak to someone as youbtaked the 50 pounds

Terrible Service and Customer Support

Our Shell/Octopus account was transferred to TalkTalk. Since transferring we’ve endured terrible broadband speeds. Paying £60 a month, we raised our concerns to be told we need to relocate the router in the house. When I noted that a Talk Talk engineer said the location was good, router good, they sent me a new router, then I received a £70 charge for a router I didn’t ask for.

When I asked them to cancel the order, they said they couldn’t, when I asked to speak to a manager as part of their customer complaint code, they said I couldn’t, but they will callback in 24-48 hours. When I asked where do I send my complaint, because the online link wasn’t working, they said email, when I asked what email, they said they didn’t know.

3 plus hours spent trying to fix the low download speeds and caught up in a terrible game of being passed to different agents and fobbed off.

Have transferred to Plusnet for £33 a month. At least I’m making a monthly saving.

A bit of basic humanity goes a long way.

The account holder has passed away so I informed them and we discussed options. To take over the account they wanted to charge me £40 pm instead of the advertised £26.99 pm (claiming that the internet price was a mistake !!). Now it appears that they want to charge a hefty cancellation fee (£300+) because the account holder passed .... really?? (not sure they did it intentionally)

So TT agreed that the internet would be shut off on the 8th Sep. Fine by me but it's still on peeps.
I have arranged to go to another provider now and awaiting connection but a very poor show from TT.
I did the right thing by informing them given it was an emotionally volatile time for me and at least they could've enticed me to stay with them but this was not the case (review your own recording for 'training purposes').

What are they doing?

Can this get any worse? What are you doing TalkTalk. You have gone from a good company five years ago to a disaster now. I think we are all going to have to close our accounts and change supplier. I have been waiting since 11/08/25 for fibre installation. This is simply not acceptable. Get it sorted or close

I’ve been with TalkTalk since the OneTel days, and the service has only gone downhill.
Customer service is dreadful. staff are often rude, they transfer you from one department to another without resolving anything, and on several occasions I’ve simply been hung up on. When I raised the fact that my guaranteed download speed was not being delivered, I was basically told: “Leave if you’re not happy.”

At contract renewal, TalkTalk are never proactive in solving issues. Instead, they make big promises to keep you as a customer, but those promises rarely match the reality. The router they supplied many years ago is now outdated, and rather than offering a replacement, I was emailed inviting me to buy a new one from them. That shows exactly how little they value loyalty.

After years of giving them the benefit of the doubt, I can only conclude that TalkTalk do not honour their commitments, do not value long-standing customers, and do not provide acceptable customer service. Avoid if you want reliability or respect.

I have finally terminated my contract, that too was not a smooth process, I await my final bill.
