1st time interrailers Italian trip
nearly everything went very smoothly indeed. all the hotels were very well located and comfortable with the exception of the Florence hotel, which wasn't as good as we wanted.
I have suggested a very small improvement for their travellers itinerary pack which would have helped us avoid a simple mistake.
just these 2 points above prevent a 5* review, everything else was very good -
customer service, comms, paperwork, etc.

Tailor-made rail are really helpful if…
Tailor-made rail are really helpful if you are planning a complex Interrail trip. I think we had over 12 trains and 12 ticket reservations that needed to be which they did for us. The fact that they give you both a digital and a paper printout of only tickets and the QR codes, et cetera is also really helpful. I’m not quite sure how they work out their pricing (they don’t say to you at the beginning we just put 12% on top of any hotel or Train bookings or explain how the charges work but nonetheless if you’re not looking for a really cheap holiday we thought it was definitelyworth the extra cost. We needed to contact the office once on our trip to confirm something so called the office, they swiftly got in touch with the hotel and called us back to confirm that the booking was in order. All in all very helpful and a nice team teen.

Rail journey to and around Switzerland
Tailor Made Rail’s arrangements were very well planned. We had no problems at all either with the journeys themselves or with the hotels, which were of a very good standard. Everything happened as planned and the hotels were well placed and within easy walking distance from the railway stations, etc.

The perfectly planned holiday they…
The perfectly planned holiday they thought of everything, it was a really lovely stress free experience they even arranged our transfers from station to station and station to hotels all included in our package. The hotels chosen were excellent.
We love using Tailor Made Rail we always have Katie Williams organise our holidays, both her and TMR are excellent.

Tailor Made Rail train and hotel bookings were great. Holiday documents, itinerary and app instructions were provided plenty of time before travel and were easy to follow. First train holiday and I would definitely recommend

The TGV is a really rapid way to travel…
The TGV is a really rapid way to travel to the south of France but the first class aspect was not in much evidence. Want something to eat or drink, go to the buffet car along with everyone else! The Eurostar service was considerably better.
The original hotel offered in Avignon was not our idea of a great place to stay. A Novotel outside the walls of the City.
Fortunately we were able to change to a delightful small authentically French hotel a stone throw from the centre.
All the arrangements went well and was stress free.

We are sorry you were disappointed by the lack of included catering on the TGV as compared to the Eurostar. We will work out a way to make this clearer in our documentation. We find that the extra bit of space and fewer seats in the carriages still make it worth the upgrade if budget allows but it would be nice if some refreshments were included, you are right.
We are glad you were happy with your B&B in Avignon. In regard to the original suggestion, this was a hotel located close to the train station which some clients prefer. We offer bespoke holidays so the original proposals at the quoting stage are just suggestions and we fine tune an itinerary in partnership with our clients. We are glad the end result suited you.

Trip to Rome
The itinerary setout went according to plan despite me losing my passport. All the hotels were good, the only problem we encountered was the late arrival of the station transfer service in Paris

The perfect trip
Arrangements for our trip to and around Norway were perfect and all went smoothly. Communication before and during the trip was excellent. We adjusted the trip (travel and accommodation) to fit our budget and Tailor Made Rail dealt with this as requested. We will happily use them again and would recommend their services.

All tickets and bookings were fine. It wasn’t Taylor Made’s fault that there were so many late running or cancelled trains in Germany, and they were very helpful in sorting out a variation to our route out of hours.
Only a small niggle, in one hotel in Kufurt Rathin, we had a room in the annex - up the road, down 20 steps, across an unsurfaced car park, up a short but steep slope and then up 44 stairs to our (very nice) room whilst carrying suitcases. It was quite an effort for people in their seventies.

First class service.
All the arrangements which the company made for us worked really well (and we made 17 separate rail journeys)! When circumstances beyond their control meant they had to make changes, they altered our arrangements quickly, and really looked after us to make sure we were able to continue our holiday. Can’t fault them. Would use them again and recommend them to anyone else.

Excellent Service and Very Helpful
Tailor Made rail made out our itinerary exactly as we needed with no early or late travel. Hotels and rail journeys were excellent. The couple of problems we had during the holiday were sorted immediately by them. Very helpful and excellent service

A holiday couldn't be easier. Tailer made rail had everything organised to make our holiday as stress free as possible. The choice of hotels & locations was wonderful .
We could easily change, lengthen or amend any part of the holiday easily.
This was our second holiday with tailer made rail & would certainly use them again

Wonderful experience …
Everything that Tailor Made Rail could influence was done extremely well. All staff we spoke to were very professional and helpful. Trains booked and reserved seating perfect. Paperwork spot on.
Hotels better than we anticipated.
All very good value for money.
We have never previously had a train holiday but after our recent experience would certainly do so again and would have no hesitation using Taylor Made Rail.

Rail trip to Sicily
We took the rail trip to Sicily and back. It was the second rail holiday we have booked through Tailor Made Rail. The service was excellent and all trains and connections worked well. We were able to break or journey in Italy and stay where we wanted in Sicily. The choice of hotels was very good. We would have no hesitation in recommending TMR.
