TMR arranged an excellent itinerary for us to reach Bologna. They were patient when we changed our minds to include Switzerland in our route. We travelled First Class and TMR booked us a taxi transfer between stations in Paris - highly recommended. The hotels on our journey were central and very comfortable. Sadly, heavy mid May snow obliterated our view of the Bernina route from St. Moritz to Tirano but we had seen the mountains and lakes on the previous day which was clear and sunny. TMR alerted us to a National Strike in Italy that would affect our homeward journey. Two of our trains were cancelled but we were promptly booked on trains that were running and new tickets were sent to us. We really appreciated this, especially as others in our hotel were having difficulties in independently rebooking their trains.
We were grateful to be sent paper copies of all our tickets so we had no worries about getting a signal on our phones to retrieve digital versions. All the documents were well organised by date.
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday largely due to the efficiency of TMR staff. All communication with them was courteous and nothing seemed too much trouble for them to arrange.
It was my second journey with TMR and I would certainly use them again and recommend them to friends.

This company offered great communication from start to finish. The holiday was as promised and very well organised. They were flexible around making changes to the standard holiday offer to fit in with what we wanted. There were a few tiny niggles but that should be expected. Overall I was very satisfied by the service and would recommend. It certainly took the hassle out of planning the holiday and was good value too. Very smooth.

We were very happy with the service we received from Taylor Made Rail, right from our initial enquiry. Can't think of anything they might have improved on really. This was a first for us, so we weren't quite sure what to expect, but we wanted to get to Istanbul overland by train and we did. We had 4 nights in hotels, in different cities, which were all a of very decent standard. The route also included two overnight train journeys, and a longer stay in a hotel of our choice in Istanbul. Our InterRail passes, other train tickets and hotel bookings were all arranged and paid for in advance, with a clear itinerary given for each day. It was a really great experience.

We have used Tailor Made Rail for a number of years now. We find their booking process and website easy to use and very efficient. The hotels we have stayed in across Europe have always impressed us. Booking is easy. Nothing is too much trouble for this company. All of their staff are polite and helpful. They have a good knowledge of the trips which we have booked. The Inter rail passes allow some flexibility if you miss a connection.
Great holidays, outstanding service

I was attracted to the trip because not only did it allow me to avoid airports, it also avoided changing trains in Paris and Milan. The itinerary was well planned and flexible enough to adapt. The company notified me of changes ahead of time. I can’t blame the company for the actions of Italian rail drivers but do appreciate the prior notice. The hotels were of a good standard and the information provided by the company made them easy to locate.

Having used other similar companies before l believe the service of Tailor Made Rail was exceptional and exceeded my expectations.

Everything went well, except that one train (Lucerne to Basel) was not a direct service, as indicated. We had to change trains at Olten.

We had a fantastic trip to Venice organised by Tailor Made Rail. They organised a brilliant itinerary which took us from London to Brussels to Cologne and then to Innsbruck and ending up in Venice for a couple of days. They booked lovely hotels along the way that were really easy to find from the stations. The journey back via Chambrey and Paris was disrupted due to French train strikes but TMR let us know in advance, and re-routed us through Switzerland on the way home.
I am sure if you have the time and inclination you could do all the organising and booking yourself, but TMR obviously know a thing or two about train travel and they made everything (even with the strike disruption) run very smoothly. If you want a stress free rail trip across Europe taking in some great stop-overs organised by experts, give it a go.

All the train journeys were good and the app eventually became easy to use. The hotels were excellent , comfortable and well positioned.

Good communication and customer service throughout our experience of TMR. Flexibility with our plans, and the information sent by email and also paper copies, was all very helpful. The hotels were of a very high standard an the first class upgrade made our train journeys more comfortable, and that little bit more special.

Great service, very well organised trip, loved it, all hotels great, timings perfect, would definitely recommend. We missed the Bernina Express due to a late train from Italy, so unfortunate but didn’t detract from the holiday. The team at TMR emailed alternative train options to get to Chur, which did follow most of the route of the Bernina.

At 77 years old we wondered whether this trip might be too much for us, especially with digital tickets etc., but from start to finish TMR were helpful and contactable.
Our trip started and finished in Málaga and the rail journey to Barcelona was added to the schedule.
Every hotel was above expectations, both in quality and location, and the breakfasts were magnificent.
An Italian transport strike threatened our journey from Venice to St Moritz, but a phone call to TMR soon solved the problem for us.
If anyone might be put off by not speaking the local language, we met people from all over the world and the only person who couldn't speak English was a man from Moldova in Vienna.
It was a trip of a lifetime for us and we have already recommended TMR to several of our friends.

They organised my personal itinerary making suggestions and advising good knowledge on the Cinque Terre location. Communication was excellent.

The train journey organised from England to and across Switzerland was excellent. All good depature times. The accomodation was all within easy acess from the train stations first class travel throughout I can highly recommend.

Fantastic out of hours help when our train was cancelled. All the staff were really helpful.
