I had a good experience with this shop overall.
I initially encountered an issue with my order and gave them a 1-star rating because the customer service was bad and refused to fix the issue.
However, once their e-commerce director, Chad, got involved, everything turned around. He was eager to resolve the problem and even processed a partial refund on a Sunday night!
His dedication really stood out, and I’ll definitely be shopping here again.

son of a stag has a brilliant offering of clothes and super helpful staff, Martin and Oscar in particular are two gentlemen that stand out and also Rudy the owner is brilliant. They all work hard and are passionate about what they do. It has the true spirit of an independent business with people who care about what they do. If you want an authentic shopping experience with people who care go to son of a stag.

It's got that great balance of staff coming to you straight away but always feeling like they're helpful rather than pushy. Great honest 5* service
Great honest 5* service. I wanted to buy some Red Wing boots but I had difficulty with the fitting on these boots. I spent nearly an hour trying lots of boots on. I didn’t buy any on this occasion but the service was really nice outstanding & they were super honest - reason why I didn’t buy - this time. The only criticism is that they have a crazy price big choice of everything which means that you have to know what you want or rely on their expertise. The staff are real experts with an incredible amount of knowledge and better than anywhere else that I have tried. The service levels match the great choices they have. I will visit again when I am in London but will come with plenty of money and lots of time to shop properly as I now know they have the biggest selections in Europe for many brands of jeans, jackets, shirts, etc. They have a cool website too but best to go in person to experience all of it.
Poor customer service
Bought a t-shirt online to find it didn’t look the same colour as the website. Returns policy is 14 days, much shorter to other websites and clothes shops. Got an unhelpful and snarky email back before they stopped replying entirely until I started a case with PayPal to get my money back. Would avoid like the plague.
A satisfactory conclusion to a customer service hiccup
Really poor customer service and no communication regarding sizing issues. I returned an XL T shirt to exchange for an XXL and when it arrived it was actually smaller than the original XL. I returned the T shirt for a second time, but the returns slip was attached to the fancy box it came in, which they later declared as actual damage to the box and so they could not sell the item again and would have to source another box, even though the item inside was in perfect condition. I offered to cover the cost of the box from the original purchase price but instead, without further discussion I was given a store credit, which i didn't want, and which was actually less that the purchase price of the original item, after this all communication stopped. Now, i understand that in their mind the box was damaged, but in my mind i didn't pay for a fancy pretentious box, i paid for the T shirt, which was returned in perfect condition. No mention was made of the sizing issue, Jay Shipley just did what was easiest for them. Considering how expensive the item was and the fact that it was their sizing that generated the return, i was expecting better customer service, not a quibble about a box that would end up in a bin anyway. Consequently i have been essentially forced to use the store credit for an item i didn't really want. I contacted them through the chat box on their own website and emailed Jay Shipley direct, but i have received no response from them at all. I will not be using this merchant again, and i would caution anyone when buying from them that their customer service online is not what it should be given how expensive they are and their high-end website
UPDATE…… I have since received a call from Rudy at Son of a Stag and i have to say that i ended up very impressed with how they resolved the issue. They have apologised and fully explained how my issue seemed to have slipped through the cracks and refunded the difference between what i originally bought and what i ended up buying with the store credit. I don't often feel that it is appropriate to withdraw my original comments, but on this occasion i feel it is. Well done Rudy and Son of a Stag, you have turned a disgruntled customer into a fervent ambassador, an acceptable explanation and refund of the difference in purchase was well received……thanks ….Simon

Was recommended by a friend to pay a visit to the shop and I’m glad I was. Some very cool items in the selection and enjoyed the in store experience a lot more than I usually do. Ended up ordering another pair of the same jeans in case I lose them on my travels. Would highly recommend.

Found this Uber cool store on Instagram. What a goldmine! An amazing selection of Japanese brands and excellent customer service. I was helped with sizing to achieve the look I wanted specifically and given some fab ideas to complement the look. Quality is very very good :) very happy with my purchases, fast shipping 10/10. Can’t wait to go to the store soon!

I was starting a new job and came in looking for a new shirt. I found with their help a nice light pink jean shirt. It’s become one of my favorite pieces. Love to service and variety of pieces.
Resolved things quickly
After not hearing from customer service for a couple of days and feeling unimpressed
I have now received a response from customer service explaining the problems that they are currently experiencing and resolved things quickly. So all good now.
Easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
These people are perfectly happy to take your money - and take it by the barrowful - but reluctant to reciprocate with even a modicum of customer service. The courier service they use is nightmarishly complicated to deal with, and denied me the option of having my parcel sent to a pick up point if I was away from home on delivery day. I repeatedly emailed my concerns to the people at Son of a Stag - but my emails were simply ignored. Inevitably I was away from home on delivery day - and inevitably the parcel was left in a public place from which it could easily have been stolen. Inevitably I will be spending my money elsewhere in the future. Truly shocking.
What a great shop with great staff!
What an absolute set of legends! I use Son Of A Stag frequently and they never let me down. Even under extreme pressure! Go in-store if you get a chance. Its a fantastic space filled with incredible brands and products.
Great shop - execrable service
The website contained images of a long sleeved tee shirt by Warehouse Duck Digger that I particularly liked. I’m a regular customer and have been for years. I used the web chat to ensure that they were in stock. No response.
After travelling up from Tonbridge I asked the sales assistant for the item so that I could try one on to assess the size. He couldn’t find it. He even tried the warehouse and still couldn’t locate the shirt. Then he suggested that Uniqlo might be more my style. Disappointed, I left empty handed.
On the train going home to Kent someone replies to the webchat claiming that the shirts were indeed in stock, literally in the shop that I’d left two hours earlier. What are you all playing at? This isn’t the first time this has happened. Rudy, you used to run a great denim outlet, what’s going on?
