The greatest selection of clothes I’ve seen (When I’m bored, I would browse through their catalog for hours). I was lucky enough to snatch the last Woodstock t-shirt, and I absolutely love it. I had previously emailed them about their selection of Lee Archives, which I didn’t end of buying, but they had really great customer service. The website is also one of the greatest I’ve seen, like they’ve really spend alot of time categorising everything, I also really like the way they state under every item if we should size down/up or buy our usual size for tts. My only complaint would be for the headwear, because the head circumference isn’t measured, only the size is shown (One Size, MED-LRG etc.)
Disappointing Experience With Son of a Stag
Sharing my experience after placing my first order with Son of a Stag. Unfortunately, it fell far short of what I would expect from a retailer selling items at this price point, especially compared with other premium stores I’ve used for years.
Ordering & Sizing
The website provides very limited support when it comes to choosing the correct size. There is only generic sizing guidance and no photos of models wearing the garments in specific sizes, which makes it difficult to judge fit—especially important when returns and exchanges are paid for by the customer. For expensive items, selecting the right size should not feel like guesswork.
Delivery Issues
The only delivery option available is DHL Express, which is a premium service and quite costly unless you qualify for free delivery. After placing my order, I received a delivery date from DHL and arranged to work from home. On the day, the driver falsely reported that they attempted delivery, despite the fact that I was home and received no Ring doorbell notification. Unfortunately, I’ve seen this behaviour from couriers before, but it should not happen when you’re paying for a premium service.
Because the nearest DHL depot is around 7 miles away from where I live in London—and as I was told over the phone by DHL, collection is only possible from depots, not from collection points, which are few and not located in urban areas—I had to arrange to work from home again the next day, which was not easy. I emailed Son of a Stag’s customer service on 19 May to report the issue, but never received a reply. The parcel was delivered the following day, so I would like to assume they saw that it was delivered and decided not to respond. Still, it is unprofessional not to acknowledge a customer’s message, especially when the service they paid for failed.
Customer Service
After receiving the item, I had a question about a potential fault and emailed customer service again on 21 May. As of today—after the return window has already expired—I still haven’t received any response. Thankfully, I also contacted the manufacturer directly, and they replied promptly and confirmed the item was not faulty. But the lack of support from Son of a Stag is unacceptable.
Overall
I cannot recommend Son of a Stag if you’re looking for a smooth, stress‑free premium shopping experience.
* Unreliable delivery despite being the only (and premium‑priced) option.
* Poor sizing guidance with no model photos to help determine fit.
* Costly returns and exchanges entirely at the customer’s expense.
* Non‑existent customer service even when issues are reported promptly.
For high‑priced items, the risk should not fall entirely on the customer. Yet their policies mean you effectively have to pay to try multiple sizes, or risk ending up with an expensive item that doesn’t fit properly.
In summary: Son of a Stag’s business model shifts all the risk onto the customer, and the complete lack of customer support makes the experience even worse. I do not recommend them.
Great Paraboot Purchase Experience
I recently bought a pair of Paraboot Michaels from Son of a Stag. If you look up anything about these shoes online, it becomes apparent pretty quickly that they are difficult to size. In deciding who to buy these shoes from, I went with Son of a Stag since I had heard good things about their customer service. I decided to reach out before ordering to confirm which size I should buy. Their customer service was quick to respond and the guy I spoke with actually had a pair of the Micheals himself. Oscar’s sizing advice was spot on! Good customer service, good pricing and fast order processing 5/5 stars!
Scam
Scam! I ordered a leather jacket for more than 1,000 GBP, but it arrived defective. I requested a return and followed up regarding the next steps, but I haven’t received any reply since the first email. Very disappointed. Absolutely a fraud.

It is extremely ridiculous, returns require the seller’s approval. This is extremely unfair. Under strict return deadline if they deliberately delaying responses until the 14-day return period expires, customer is effectively denied their right to return faulty goods.
This is extremely unfair. It is the worst shopping experience we have ever had.
Never ship on time
I've ordered a couple of times from this site, first time I had to prompt them to ship my order, it took a week to get delivered, the second time it took 8 days, again, after prompting them to ship the order. When the last order arrived the shoes were clearly retuns and had creases in them.
Customer services are polite but offer no reasons for not shipping products on time. The website states same day shipping with next day delivery.
I can only imagine the returns process is just as painful so I won't shop here again.
Its a shame because they stock a lot of interesting stuff I haven't found on other UK stockists. I hope things improve because they are letting themselves down.
Customer Experience poor
Disappointing exchange policy and no response to complaint
I want to start by saying that Son of Stag is a great shop with a beautiful selection of high-quality Japanese denim brands. It's the kind of place you're happy to spend your money in.
Unfortunately, the customer service lets it down badly.
I bought the Warehouse & Co 900XX 13.5oz Slim Tapered Jean (W33 L32) for £279. When I got home, the fit was too tight, so I went back the next day to exchange them for a W34 L32 — the same model, just one size up.
Instead of a simple exchange, I was told I had to return the original pair first and then repurchase the new size as a separate transaction. I had received a 10% discount for signing up to their website, and because of this unnecessary process, I lost that discount entirely — £27.90 gone, through no fault of my own. The discount was a reward for becoming a registered customer, and it feels particularly unfair to lose it simply for wanting a different size of the same product.
I sent a formal complaint email and have received no reply whatsoever after almost a week.
For a store selling premium denim at premium prices, the exchange policy is rigid and the after-sales service is non-existent. The shop deserves five stars — the customer service, one. I hope they sort this out, because the products are genuinely worth it.
Son of Stag are consistently brilliant
Son of Stag are consistently brilliant. Occasionally I have had to alter delivery times and Oscar is throughly helpful and has always been brilliant to deal with and always makes it work. It is much appreciated and I would absolutely recommend son of stag to anyone who is considering it.

Son Of A Stag offer first class, prompt service and a depth of knowledge about the products they sell which is rare and much appreciated in this day and age.
I always enjoy their personal touch.

I purchased some Paraboot Michaels & unfortunately they initially came scratched.
As you can imagine, this was very frustrating. However their customer care guy, Oscar, was incredibly helpful.
Oscar promptly provided a replacement pair & even threw in some complimentary socks due to the inconvenience.
What was initially a negative experience ended being a totally positive one instead.
I love the shoes & was very impressed with the customer care Son of a Stag provided.

I visited the store for the first time…
I visited the store for the first time yesterday to exchange a pair of ONI jeans I’d purchased online.
The guy that looked after me, Graham, was outstandingly helpful. Not only did he pick out half a dozen excellent alternatives to try (to get a good fit) he really educated me about Japanese denim.
All in all, I would say that it was the best shopping experience I’ve ever had, and I normally dislike clothes shopping.
It was such a positive experience that I’m going to take my wife there to get some denim in the next few weeks. Graham even offered to be on-site on the day we travel up from Kent if I give him a few days notice of our visit. What a legend.
A superb range of quality clothing and an exceptional customer experience, Son of Stag has just acquired a dedicated new fan. 10/10.

Wont compensate me for a lost order
My order hasnt arrived due to some DHL issues. DHL made it very clear to me that it was a mistake on their behalf and that they would issue a compensation to the sender (the company). The company claims that they havent been able to get any compensation from dhl and are not able to refund my money due to that. They offered to give me store credit tho which was fine with me. This has been a month ago now and I still havent received anything.
Best Customer Service Ever Experienced
I truly can't say enough good things about the customer service at Son of a Stag. Oscar has gone above and beyond to help me with a return outside of their typical window due to a family emergency, spending f at more energy and time than anyone would expect of someone in his position.
It's quite rare that interacting with someone representing a large business does so in such a fashion that it actually makes your day BETTER! And yet, that is precisely what Oscar delivers.
