I was contacted out of the blue, to advise me that I had been nominated for an award. I was asked to send a Company Profile which I did. Sometime later, I recieved an email asking me if I had received confirmation of winning the caterory for which my Company was nominated. I replied that I had not and was then sent a copy of an email from another person, saying we had won.
At this time, I was offered various additional advertising options for the company. These are fairly high rates, however I was advised that we would be given a full listing in the awards list.
This was approximately 3 months ago. Our Company is not listed anywhere in the Awards listings and my emails to SME have gone unanswered.
As I have not been asked personally for any money, however, I would not part with any either, as I am not convinced that we would have come out of this with anything having paid for marketing (or not.)
To date there is no listing that we can find.

We send a series of communications throughout the nomination and award process, using the available contact details and channels where possible. As part of this process, winners are normally sent a link to confirm their complimentary package through our online winners portal, which includes the award listing. As you received the initial nomination email but do not appear to have received the subsequent communications, it seems that something may have gone wrong in this instance, and we apologise for the breakdown in communication.
To confirm, our awards programmes are free to enter and win, and there is no obligation to purchase any of the optional marketing or promotional packages offered. If your company was confirmed as a winner, the relevant listing is not dependent on any paid package being purchased.
We would be happy to look into this for you and resolve the matter directly. There are several individuals with the same name within our system, so we have been unable to confidently identify your specific record from the review alone. Please could I ask you to contact us at customer-services@aiglobalmedialtd.com using, or providing, the email address originally contacted on, along with your company name and award programme, our team will investigate this fully. If the listing is not already live, we will ensure it is manually reviewed and added where appropriate.

I can see why people may think this is a scam. I received an email out of the blue saying I had been nominated for 2 awards.
At no point did anyone ask me for any money. I had the option of sending details of my business if I wanted it to support the process.
Anything I sent was already in the public domain.
I was informed that I had won the 2 awards, I was then asked about the complimentary marketing packages that varied in price, but there was a free option. Again at no point did anyone ask me for any payment details. It was all an option.
I decided to go for the free version and again no money has been given, they ask for it if you want more marketing, I can't comment on those packages but I do not see this as a scam.
If you wish to send money for extra packages then that is up to you.

I wish I had read the reviews on here before engaging with this scam of a company. If you show interest in any of the packages they take that as you want to proceed and won't let you change your mind. They will then invoice you for £295 plus VAT because all they want is your money! Scaming hard working people for money.

We were contacted by SME News regarding an award nomination for our platform, but the outreach did not even correctly identify our company. This suggests the nomination was based on superficial scraping rather than any meaningful review.
The process appears structured to encourage nominees into optional paid promotional packages. While the company presents this as an award programme, our experience gave the impression of a marketing funnel rather than credible independent recognition.
In our view, businesses should approach these nominations with caution and do proper due diligence before engaging.

After their "internal research" we were nominated to join an award for our exceptional customer service. This despite the fact we are not trading! These are purely money making exercises for the media company, looking to take cash off of your suppliers to produce an advertorial for their profit.

We do have an internal research team who research all nominees after they have opted into being considered for the award program, our process incudes visiting the nominee’s website and companies house which would have flagged the business is not trading. Though for initial selection for the award this may not have flagged this due to the variety of sources we acquire our nominees from as well as offer third party voting. With supporting information, I will be more than happy to investigate this further for you.
Our awards look to support UK SMEs and provide recognition to those who have excelled in their field and provide advertising opportunities to them. All our awards are free to enter and win, every winner receives a complementary package which includes an SEO optimised winners listing on our website which is customizable, access to the winners press release. While we do offer additional paid opportunities, though these are offered after an individual or business has won and do not impact your chance of winning and are completely optional and are not required to market your award.
