We recently purchased a skinners apex shed,we are so pleased with our new shed.Our whole experience from the initial inquiry from the sales team to the actual assembly was first class,the guys were quick efficient and professional completing the job in a couple of hours, we would not hesitate in recommending Skinners to our friends thank you for a job well done regards Stephen Guthridge.

Skinner Sheds have installed a 6 X 8 shed in our back garden. We spoke to a staff member, Steve, and were able to reach a quick and informed decision on the particular shed to go for. They fixed a date for the survey of the land on which the shed was to be put up and for the installation. They did their job professionally and on appointed time. We are very pleased with their work. Recently ordered an 8 x 6 pent shed from Skinners. Everything was fine and the delivery guys / fitters were polite and efficient. I have since painted the shed as recommended.

We are delighted with the quality of our new summer house. It is well built and excellent value for money. There are several base options available to suit our needs including a timber structural base that cost half the price of a concrete slab.
The service was first rate from start to finish. Courtney at the sales office was very helpful and explained everything we needed to know about the summer house, protection requirements and the construction process.
The order was comprehensive and detailed and we received frequent updates from the customer service team. The erectors came on time and were friendly and helpful, making sure our Summer House was positioned exactly as we wanted it. They were experienced and friendly and completed the job to our satisfaction quickly and efficiently. They tidied up and made sure we were happy before they left

A good experience all round. Guys arrived on time and worked solid for less than two hours to install the shed.

My brother who has learning difficulties recently bought an 8 x 6 shed from the Hailsham branch which included erection. When the shed arrived he asked that the shed was positioned so that he could get around it to paint and maintain. However, because it was easier for the erection team, due to ground conditions, they placed it almost touching boundary fences on two sides. When this was raised with the Hailsham office they were extremely rude and refused to return to move the shed. The after sales service is the worst I have ever encountered and will definitely not use Skinners again or recommend.

Pleased with the quality of the shed and the overall process. From the initial chat to understand our needs and options, through to the installation of the shed, I was happy and impressed with the high levels of customer service and overall quality. We had particular access constraints which were able to be accommodated in how our pent shed was constructed and installed. The installers were professional and quickly put up the shed to a high standard.

Great company , made buying the shed so easy . Very big range to choose from . Fitters were excellent and did a really good job . 7x5 Pent shed and all went smoothly from start to finish . Finished off nicely with an Oak Wood Preserver . Thoroughly recommend Skinners .

Very happy with my new shed. Went for a 7x8 apex. Went with the advised protek paint. Mike was exceptionally helpful and responsive going through the purchase process and even responding to a few followup emails. The gentleman that fitted the shed were polite and tidy. No question went unanswered and would definitely recommend Mike and Skinners shed. The price difference with mass market shed companies was relatively minimal and worth every penny. Protek paint looks absolutely fantastic on the shed afterwards.

Charles was brilliant at helping us place the order in the Sundridge store. I'm so happy with the level of customer service and the communication we've had with him. The guys that came round to deliver and fit the shed were brilliant as well. Very friendly and nice to talk to. They came in and got the job done very quickly and efficiently. I recently purchased a shed from the Wickford branch of Skinners Sheds. While I am ultimately very happy with the final product, the journey from the showroom to the garden was a bit of a mixed bag.

The Product: 5/5

The shed itself is excellent. It is sturdy, well-put-together, and exactly what I was looking for. A massive bonus is that it comes erected, which saves a lot of time and hassle. One of the main reasons I chose Skinners was the ability to actually see the quality in person before buying—something many online-only retailers lack. In terms of quality for the price, it represents very good value for money.

The Sales Process: 2/5

This is where the experience faltered. The sales process at the Wickford branch felt quite pushy; I was constantly being upsold items that I felt were unnecessary. However, the most frustrating part was the constant repetition regarding the base. I lost count of how many times the salesperson told me the base had to be "spirit level flat"—both in person and over the phone.

While I understand the importance of a level base, the delivery of this message felt condescending rather than helpful. Additionally, the team was quite difficult to deal with when I tried to schedule delivery around other ongoing work at my property.

Delivery and Aftercare: 2/5

The post-sale experience mirrored the sales phase. The courtesy call again focused heavily on the "spirit level flat" requirement, and I was sent a disclaimer waiver listing an exhaustive number of things they won't do. It felt more like they were looking for excuses to walk away from the job rather than trying to be helpful.

On the day of installation, the crew did a nice job putting the structure together, but their manner was quite short and bordering on rude. I also discovered after they left that they hadn't nailed down the felt on the roof, so I’ve had to go out and finish that job myself to ensure it’s weather-proof.

Final Verdict

If you are looking for a high-quality, well-built shed and don't mind a bit of DIY finishing, Skinners is a solid choice. It’s just a shame that when you are spending a significant amount of money, the customer service and communication don't match the quality of the timber.

Having refused to build the shed (supposedly included in the purchase price but obviously factored into the price, like delivery) the delivery guys left an offcut roll of felt too short to cover the roof. Had to buy a new roll for £50. Should have been simple to refund this to me but all that happens with a complaint is they hide from it and do nothing, hoping I will go away. Avoid.

We have just purchased a summerhouse at findo Vale garden centre, skinners sheds we met Derek in the office who was so helpful very polite, very informative, really good service, communication after sale extremely good, would highly recommend Derek for sales.

Visited Skinners Sheds to buy a playhouse for our grandson, chap in the sales office was friendly and helpful. Delivery and assembly great, the guys were very efficient, polite and friendly.
We had previously bought a shed from this company so were confident about both quality and customer service.

We have been very impressed with your service in all areas:-

- ability to view the Sheds at the garden centre;
- a friendly and helpful salesman there;
- shed arrived on the day for which it was scheduled;
- facility to track the delivery;
- a hard-working and efficient team of workmen who accomplished a thorough job in very difficult conditions (dark and, just for a change, pouring with rain).

I am delighted with my new shed ,the whole process starting with Tony Ball @Brenzett ,he couldn't have been more helpful with site visits etc .The shed turned up on time ,and was erected by a professional team in no time at all ,no mess no fuss .The site had quite poor access ,had to lift a couple of fence panels. I have since treated the outside of the shed with a water proofing treatment. I would not hesitate recommending your sheds and service to any one

We are pleased with the new potting shed that the Skinners teams built in our garden in Nov 2025.
Both the foundation crew and the shed assembly team arrived as planned and were fast, competent and helpful and did not leave any mess behind. All bespoke requirements were met including extra window opening and extra roof height. We have added a rain gutter and fitted timber panels around the base to keep foxes out.

Everything was brilliant sales,delivery, assembly and a quality shed. We bought the shed at Skinnersshed Findon and are delighted with our new shed.
