This company was recommended to me by a friend who has a daughter with ADHD. Mine has processing issues and Giselle has been a game changer. A huge increase in confidence in her own abilities, we had another, really good English tutor before Giselle, but without the specific SEN knowledge, and that is what has made a huge positive difference, both in how my daughter now sees herself and in her academic marks. She knew she was clever, but it was never reflected in her results, now she is learning ways to work with her brain to get the results she wants. Highly recommend. Definitely not cheap, but you are paying for their very specific areas of expertise and honestly worth every penny. Even after one session my daughter was impressed.

We had a very poor experience with this firm. They have onerous and disjointed transaction processes that we suffered from and ended up not getting the first session. They make you a) register on the web b) agree to a long and onerous email before they will send you an invoice. We got a + b late from
the company and completed them but then the invoice didn’t come. Despite agreeing to start to tutor our son at 9am today they have now said they can’t. It’s so poor we have invested so much time in this firm. Fundamentally they have onerous terms and conditions and disjointed processes looking to button parents down. The cancellation terms are not balanced. Parents are held to 14 days cancellation whilst the tutor can cancel with 24 hours notice. We feel like we have been held hostage and then let down. This is the Uk way today but it has to change. We entered into an agreement that they have fallen down on because they can’t get their dysfunctional processes to operate. It seems like a very officious company, for us it is an avoid. It is in all regards Heath Robinson.

When we needed extra maths tuition for my autistic son we googled around and found Iain on the sensational tutors site. Over the past 12 months Iain has been dependable and consistent with my son. Couldn’t have been any better really. Thanks Iain!

SENsational tutors have been instrumental in helping us find a tutor for our son. Our son is 6 years old and has been diagnosed with autism. From our experience so far, we would say that they have found us an amazing tutor. They have made the process of enrolling quite smooth and also send useful SEN news and articles regularly.

Zoe, our son’s tutor, has been tutoring him for at least 6 months. Before the first session, Zoe called us to understand fully about our son’s needs. She listened carefully to his likes, dislikes and how he works. She then tailored the sessions to incorporate his favourite TV shows, book characters such as Paw Patrol, Paddington and even our recent visit to Edinburgh. Zoe is responsive to feedback from our son’s school, which includes focusing on certain areas such as sentence formation. She has established a routine that allows our son to enjoy each session to such an extent, that he eagerly looks forward for the next one. Zoe is very patient in her approach and encourages him to be his best. We have definitely seen an improvement in his abilities. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to use Zoe’s services.

Farah's support for my student was amazing and the matching service provided by SENsational Tutors was incredibly smooth, efficient and supportive. My student has complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, PDA and anxiety disorder, and she needed a period of time of education away from the school environment. Farah was able to establish trust and a supportive environment quickly, and then begin to provide appropriate and effective tuition. I was confident that SENsational Tutors were fully aware of the complex needs of my student and were interested in understanding her diagnoses and presentation. I interviewed several tutors and found two tutor’s (Kelly and Caroline) who were excellent. I live in Asia and they were able to work with my time zone for my son. They were experienced in the IB curriculum. He had several hours a week covering all subjects. They supported with homework and skills. My son is in middle school and has ADHD, he’s severely dyslexic and has dysgraphia. His grades improved, and they were a fantastic resource for me and supported my son and I advocate with his school, which was helpful but had limited capacity.
I’m super grateful. Administration were fantastic, responsive and flexible too.

phil is an outstanding tutor he has gave me passion towards learning and caring about my future he has change my life in the best way he is so supportive and very patient with me i struggle to get up in the morning and he doesn’t kick a fuss or get angry he just helps me do better for the next day even with the days i struggle with my mental health he shows he’s availability and shows he cares , phil is like a best friend to me some who i can trust , he explains everything that i don’t understand in detail so i do understand he has tort me so much within the time i have known him he got my grades up from a U to at least a 5 within just the short time we have had.

My 16 year old son struggles with various mental health issues, he hasn’t had the best experience with his education until we found Phil !! My son is now doing well and on his way to sitting his GCSEs (something I never thought would happen) and it’s all thanks to Phil . He is very patient and understanding of my son’s needs. He goes the extra mile to support my son by taking him to important medical appointments . They often go out for coffee , take part in sporting activities and educational trips , it has helped to keep education fun but is really having a positive impact on my sons mental health as well as physical health and education. My teenage daughter has been waiting for years for a CAMHS autism/ADHD assessment and her mainstream school has provided little support for her needs - struggling to focus, understand complex multi-step questions, timetabling independent study, setting realistic goals for herself and coping with anxiety around exams. With Sheree tutoring her, my daughter has made significant progress in 6 months with improved exam results and confidence. But of even greater benefit has been Sheree's kindness, patience and understanding of my daughter's needs, particularly when overwhelmed by difficult emotions. When I reached out to SENsational Tutors for help finding a SEN tutor for my 5-year-old (likely ASD) so, there were no available tutors to meet his needs. However Joanna, the director, went above and beyond to find Elias the perfect match in a tutor, Kay.

I am so so happy with Kay. Her attention to detail and her ability to keep Elias engaged is phenomenal. He usually gets easily distracted but she somehow keeps him interested for the entirety of the lesson. He is always so excited to hear she’s coming and has really embraced her. Elias can sometimes be anxious when meeting new people, but with Kay’s warm personality he easily settled and felt safe with her.

Kay took the time to listen to what I wanted for Elias, and has taken every part of it on board to deliver fantastic lessons for him every week. We cannot be happier with the way she handles Elias’ extra needs and quirks. We are so excited to see Elias develop further with Kay’s exceptional guidance, and feel very lucky to have her in Elias’ life.

Following an introduction via the Sensational Tutors platform, we have received exceptional empathetic tutoring for our daughter of two and a half who is non-verbal autistic who is making good progress.

We have had a wonderful experience working with L from SENSational tutors after years of failures by the education system and local schools. Due to being autistic, ADHD, sensory processing differences and anxiety based school avoidance since reception age to year 9, he has missed a lot of education and no school was 'just right'. I was so worried that my son wouldn't be able to engage but right from the first session it was clear to see that his needs were being met and understood better than they had been within any mainstream or special school in our area. My son is full-time home schooled due to his high levels of anxiety which is the primary presentation of his ASD/ADHD diagnosis. We have previously struggled to find a tutor that could effectively work with our son in a way that properly addressed his anxiety towards school work. Our quest for a kind, patient specialist maths tutor, experienced with working with children with autism, led us to SENsational Tutors. While exploring their website, l can across Iain, whose profile immediately caught my eye.

My son, with has autism, ADHD and sensory difficulties, along with a chronic sleep disorder, faced significant challenges in engaging with learning. Having been out of school for nearly 4 years, we have struggled to find tutors who could truly understand and work effectively with him.

Iain’s adaptability is truly exceptional, he skilfully adjusts his teaching style to meet my sons ever changing needs. We have had Luke for our son for the whole of last term to help him following a rough patch at school while he was not attending school due to serious illness due to difficulties at school . Our son has special needs(ADHD ) and Luke understands his needs perfectly - he formed a caring relationship and was his sole specialist sen tutor deleting the whole curriculum- our son caught up in many respects with his subjects and at the same time had fun doing so. His lessons are personally planned and he recognises that each student is unique - his lessons are to the point and challenging but Luke is always aware of when to change direction if the student is in difficulty. He is particularly skilful at including opportunities to build in interests like football for our sim and computer games. He is always helping our son to fulfil his potential and building his confidence. It’s good that he is a very experienced mainstream teacher too do understands how to reintegrate students back into school as needed. He has been the saviour of our sons education and has become a real friend as well as a tutor maintained regular education. Learning with Luke is not a chore- our son leaves each session happy and having learned do much. He is kind and patient and has build a safe space for our son and has really boosted his confidence and understands his needs fully- he looks forward to his sessions with Luke - sensational tutors are brilliant at matching students and tutors as they did with our son

My son has dyslexia and has struggled with English. I found Sensational Tutors through Google and we got in touch with Jane.

Jane supported my son through his English Nat 5 (Scottish equivalent of GCSEs) and he got an A. He has historically had fairly poor marks and this result was undoubtedly due to Jane's tutoring.

Jane is continuing to assist my son with English Higher and I am so pleased with his progress. He has been so stressed but through working with Jane more regularly, I can see his confidence growing.

Jane gives me a detailed summary of each session very quickly afterwards and is excellent at gauging K's mood. She is very caring and engaging and I am overjoyed that we found her. She is an outstanding tutor.

I contacted SENsational Tutors to find a tutor for my dyspraxic son. Joanna has been amazing: she took time to listen to our needs and understand our problems. It was not easy to find a tutor that provides sessions in person but we finally found Ewa.
Ewa is a very dedicated tutor. She prepares her lessons with my son meticulously. He can easily lose focus and get frustrated but Ewa manages to keep him engaged for the whole lesson. She is very patient and encouraging and he likes his sessions with her. I can see improvements in his academic performance and he seems more confident. I wholeheartedly recommend SENsational Tutors and Ewa.
