Just a scam

Like previous complaints, I wasn't made aware of the direct debit and paid for 2 months. They refunded one month, but said they wouldn't refund the second month as it had passed their cut-off date.
A complete scam, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

I purchased a car manual on Secondmanual

I purchased a car manual on SecondManual for a few pounds but by the time it had been sent to me by email I had found a free version downloadable on the Internet. I had no idea this was a rolling contract until £24.90 went out of my account a month later. They refused to refund me. These rolling contracts are absolutely outrageous and should be prohibited. I see this company has an appalling record already on Trustpilot and can only advise people to be warned.

Thieving **************

Same as everybody else. You agree to pay £1.49 for a download of a manual and they then subsequently take £24.90 from your account, claiming it is in the terms and conditions. Its daylight robbery, theft. They then agree to cancel subsequent payments but by which time you have already taken the 24.90 which they refuse to refund. Thieves, these businesses should be closed down.

Ghastly company

Ghastly company - I ordered a manual that arrived promptly, although it was the wrong manual, for which I was charged over £1. Then 2 days later I was charged £24.50. I have written to them asking for a refund for the wrong manual and to terminate the subscription, and am currently awaiting a response, but, given the other reviews, I doubt very much that I will achieve that.

Complete scam

Complete scam. They used a google ad with just a large download button to divert me away from a separate site, so that instead of the payment details going to the original site, they got them and then tried to use then to justify a continuing credit card payment. Fortunately I spotted the scam after the first payment of £1.49 and checked trust pilot.
I cancelled the subsequent payments of 24.99 a month they tried to get. Credit card companies are to blame for allowing these outfits to continue trading and are pretty useless at dealing with scams like this.

This company are thieves

This company are thieves
I paid £1.49 for a manual and 2 days later they debited my account £24.90
Rang them up and was told I had signed up for a subscription which I hadn’t
Was met with a rude and arrogant attitude and told “tough you should have read it properly “
They said “no refunds are payable”
And hung up
These people should be prosecuted
I am pensioner and now have no food till next Monday
They have just replied on trustpilot but just bullshit
No offer of a refund even though they obtained my money by deception
I had cancelled before the deadline
Pure thieves that’s all they are , robbing people

My mum wanted a manual for an air fryer I gave her. She got the manual pdf for £1.49. 2 days later £24.90 was taken from her credit card??!!! Nothing the next month and then again another £24.90 disgusting behaviour ripping people off . Beware!

The attitude of and trading behaviour of this company is appalling.

I tried to access a manual and they confirmed they needed more information some seven days later and then charged a subscription fee. On contacting them by phone obduracy, arrogance and inflexibility was the response. Refusal to address the issue and disconnection. Terrible and do not buy/subscribe from them

wanted a manual for a power tool from…

wanted a manual for a power tool from Secondmanual.com ,after signing on for trial was shown a dropdown menu with no power tool manuals ,so I cancelled the account but was still charged for a full membership. Since then have tried to contact them ,but they have yet to reply. Please take care if you try this site that they actually have what they advertise

I feel totally conned

I feel totally conned. I was told I would get a refund if they could not provide my manual. They couldn't but when I chased the refund the woman I spoke to said they would not be refunding as I had not paid for anything just paid a monthly subscription. What a con.

this is a skam

they had my money and gave me no manual

sent them an email on tusday 1st/august/2024 asking for all my money refunded ive heard nothing from them
& i cant even log in on there sight to request a refund & close my account.

Unprofessional and unethical outfit (they don’t deserve to be referred to as a Company)

As per your numerous other reviews for this outfit, I have had the same scam experience, with unexpected charges taken from my bank card. I have emailed them numerous times, phoned them and were cut-off during my querying the overcharge, have requested they call me back or answer my emails, but I am still waiting?!

Totally unprofessional and unethical!

I’ll continue to pursue this matter.

THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

Like so many others I wished I had read the reviews of this company before ordering. Its a scam, total scam at no point in the ordering process do you get informed you are agreeing to a subscription, I thought I was paying £1.49 for a pdf copy of a manual only to be charged a further £24.90 just three days later. As usual the 'subscription' is hidden in the T&Cs though no sum indicated. THIS IS A SCAM I have emailed to request a refund within the 14 days allowed, I have also tried to ring but the call is disconnected without reply. Anyone know who else we can report this organisation to they are making a mint out of scamming people.

I recently had a terrible experience with Secondmanual. They initially charge customers £1.49, which seems reasonable. However, without consent, they deduct £24.90 from your account! This unauthorized charge is deceptive and unethical. I strongly advise staying clear of this website. It is a scam designed to trick unsuspecting customers.
