Took out insurance for 2 days on my sons car to get it to the garage and back and I am now getting e mails threatening me with cancellation. The policy only lasted 48 hours.

It sounds like some cross-over or confusion between a short-term policy and an annual policy. We would not have written to you to cancel a short-term policy. Please contact our Customer Service Team with your policy details and they will be able to clarify the situation.

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. No help whatsoever. Take your money then it’s tough luck. Found a better more reputable alternative in RAC.

You are probably referring to the online short term insurance product, which is related to a different website than this review site is referring to.

Dont use unless you will have the insurance a full year!

So il start off by saying the bloke i spoke to first was very helpful. I sold my car 3 months into owning it and went to cancel the insurance, after being told that i would only get less than 1/3 back i asked for a call from a manager, over 24hrs later i had a snotty email sent that i couldnt reply to, then when i finally did cancel the insurance apparently it take 4-6 weeks to get money back! What a joke

Sorry to hear you were dissatisfied with our cancellation process. All our fees and cancellation charges are detailed in our Terms of Business Agreement, available on our site. These are standard fees and in-line with any other insurance broker. We also advise customers of the fee amount prior to purchase.

We do also wait for the refunded money to be returned from the insurer, which can sometimes take several weeks.

Appalling company

All staff very friendly on the phone but as soon as a problem arises they don’t actually do anything to help. Have called 5 times re a claim with the company who’s policy they sold and not once has the problem been addressed. No one calls back. Nothing happens. Will never use them again.
Selling a reasonably priced policy is the easy bit. It’s the claims procedure and after service that is unprofessional, incompetent and atrocious.

When we took out insurance with these…

When we took out insurance with these thieves they were called Sky insurance in Potters Bar, my daughter insured her first car with them and after 8 months they proceeded to issue a 7 day cancellation warning for exceeding mileage, there was no prior warning but lo and behold when you phone them every thing can be put right for a £167 fee to buy extra mileage, just before the end of her term with them they done exactly the same thing and told her that she would not receive her one year no claims bonus unless she paid the £167 again, this was 2 weeks before her policy was due to end, I will now seek advice from a solicitor to find if such disgusting behaviour is legal, I'm guessing being that they are an insurance company it is, as it seems with these sharks anything is acceptable, if you get a quote from these thieves do yourself a favour and go with someone else as you will end up paying more anyway.

The Black Box / Telematics policies are sold on a mileage per year basis. The price originally paid would have been considerably cheaper than it should have been, if it has been based on a shorter mileage. If the mileage or the annual period expire, yes, there is an additional cost for further cover. For this reason, our staff are trained specifically to make sure the customer makes a good assessment of the required mileage - they ask several questions around this prior to incepting the policy. The customer has the final say on the amount of mileage to purchase - it does seem that on this occasion, the calculation has been insufficient. This will have been explained in some detail at the inception of the policy.

Easy to use temporary car insurance

Very easy to take out temporary insurance, when I made an error they were very helpful in helping me sort it out. Didn't need to make a claim at all, but wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

Steve Blackwell was outstanding when he helped me.

Typical insurance company, quick to take your money but when you need to call them they don’t care. I’ve been on the phone approaching 5 hours today and still no answer. I’ve been cut off several times and I need to alter my policy. Absolutely atrocious customer service

Beware of the Quote

I used this site, gave all the information needed for a quote including the car, my driving experience, reason for temporary insurance and length of insurance period. The received a number of quotes. The lowest was £46.24. However, when I clicked "To Buy" and added my address, the address of the car owner and confirmed the pre-set conditions for myself and the car, no add-ons, (none of which should affect the insurance premium) or change any of the other information the final figure was £77.00. NEARLY DOUBLE. Beware.

Best in the business

I have been with safely Insured for a good few years now and always done me decent deal better than any other. Wouldn’t go anywhere else and always recommend them to my friends especially with modified cars.

I always try my best to speak to Luke as he the best person I’ve ever dealt with when it comes to this sort of thing speaks to you like your a friend rather than just another customer. I really can’t praise him and the company enough!
