Lack of communication!

For a start, when I wanted to add a small amount of business miles, they wouldn't cover it. That's fair.
So I decided to cancel and find a new Policy.
The representative asked me a set of questions and gave me a refund quote, 1 third of what I originally paid, even though I have only been with the policy for 3 months!
Then after quoting me, the representative told me to fill that information out and put it in an email to their enquiries inbox!
Why couldn't it be done there and then?
At last I sucked it up and just cancelled.
However, I never received any sort of confirmation that they had received my email, or that they had set my policy to be cancelled on my chosen date.
So I called in to check, and they confirmed it was set to cancel and to further rub salt in the wounds, the refund would not go through until 6 WEEKS! after the date the policy was set to cancel.
Horrible experience, no communication, every process was so slow! Won't be getting insurance with them again!

-This is true, but if you are setting the policy to cancel ahead of time, you don't get any email to confirm that the policy is set to cancel, so you're left in the dark until the day after the Policy is cancelled. Try actually taking the feedback given rather than justifying yourselves...

-Then I guess I was 'worst-case scenario' as it took almost exactly 6 weeks to receive mine.

We’re sorry to hear you’re unhappy.

Whilst we can occasionally take verbal instruction to cancel, we much prefer to have an email confirmation. This helps to protect us and the customer, and means we are able to refer back to the email should it ever be required.

Once we have received this email confirmation, the policy will typically be set for cancellation within 24 hours. Once cancelled, an email is immediately generated and sent to the customer, which communicates the particulars of the cancellation, including dates and any associated costs. Considering these points, we are sufficiently communicating the process via phone and email.

Regarding the refund amount, like the vast majority of brokers & insurers, we do have cancellation charges. These charges are outlined within our Terms of Business Agreement. This agreement is disclosed at the point of sale, and we do ask the customer to confirm that they have understood and agree to these terms. In addition, we send this information via email or post for reference.

On the time taken to issue the refund, we have to wait for the insurer to issue the refund for us to then send it to the customer. the 4–6-week date is a worst-case scenario; it is typically much quicker than that.

I’ve been insured with safety…

I’ve been insured with safety insurance. For 2 years a first class service. The process was done so quickly. Information I was given first class even told my friend who now insured with safely who rates them very highly👍🏻

Look elsewhere, whilst they may come out is slightly cheaper, there are lots of hidden costs, and the customer service is not good

Very disappointed, set up a policy, they want to make a change and charge me £25 for the privilege, if I want to leave it’s £50 + £40 set up + any change is £25. They contacted me via email, despite requesting telephone contact to say that they would cancel my policy as they wanted to charge an additional £139.80 for undisclosed modifications which could not be added at the time of the online quote. Plus surprise surprise another £25 admin fee so I asked about leaving and it would cost me £50 plus £40, so £90 out of pocket or pay the £139 to keep the car Insured, either way they’ve got you! Not impressed and won’t be insuring with them in the future and I’d advise looking elsewhere.

We categorically do not have any hidden costs.

All of our fees and charges are outlined within our Terms of Business Agreement. This agreement is disclosed at the point of sale, and we do ask the customer to confirm that they have understood and agree to these terms before choosing to purchase the policy. In addition, we send this information via email or post for reference.

We would like to stress that the process of charging adjustment & cancellation fees is not unique to us, and that the vast majority of brokers and insurers also adopt a similar approach. Furthermore, these costs are commensurate with other insurance providers.

Regarding your other point, when purchasing a policy online, you are, understandably, required to input all of the relevant information. This ensures you are covered correctly. If you are not able to input the correct information, then we do display a telephone number where you can speak with an agent instead. If you still decide to proceed with the policy without declaring all relevant information, then this can result in an additional premium.

Got a quote online

Got a quote online, was very easy to add my mods etc, and I was given the best price 50% less than all other companies. Spoke to agent on phone to double check something and he was very helpful and friendly, I’ve already recommended them to others.

WORSE THAN USELESS.

This company promises a painless method of insuring a vehicle if the driver is not a U.K. resident and requires temporary insurance cover.
My experience was worse than poor:
I was unfortunate enough to have to make a claim: the insurer's response was 'no worries' to every piece of information supplied, including my name...
I was then interrogated in such a manner that it was almost suggested that I might be making a 'fraudulent claim.'
Once this absurd suggestion was consigned to the ether, I was passed from pillar to post from one person to the next; and frequently asked the same questions to which answers had already been supplied.
Much later, it was suggested that the vehicle was a potential write-off and that other insurance companies might like to share the liability...bearing in mind that it was precisely because no other insurance was available that I accepted this awful policy in the first place.
Then I was referred to Claims who procrastinated still further and when a repair estimate was submitted, I was told that the repair would be less than the full Excess amount and that therefore the claim could not proceed....Had I found a more expensive garage, no doubt the response would have been more favourable.
In conclusion, this company wasted 4 months of my life and I shall never do business with them ever again.

My advice: if contemplating accepting a policy from this company, first take out another policy issued by another broker to protect yourself when things go wrong..

Sorry to hear this feedback about our temporary insurance policy.

It is true, as with most policies, there is an 'Excess' amount, which is the first amount towards a claim that you will be responsible for. So if the claim is below this amount, it does become the policyholder's responsibility. That is explained in several places prior to purchasing the policy and explained again with the policy documentation.

All i really wanted was some rates to go by so I could make a decision on what company to go with for my rental. The website forced me to schedule a meeting with a representative. Of course her first available was two weeks away. So I scheduled the best I could. Couple of days before the meeting, I emailed her twice to tell her I would have to reschedule because of my work schedule. No response. Of course, she calls at the appointment time and says she missed me and tells me to email her with any questions. I emailed her that I just need a quote. No response. Two days later, I called the company who just says they will have a representative respond to me. The same girl emails me two days later and tells me the rates. I responded with two more emails for a couple of questions I had. No response again for days. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had with a company. Clearly this shows it’s not a company I want to use.

If i could have given 0 stars I would have. Appalling customer service. Daughter insured under learner driver policy for 1 day. Policy not as sold. Wanted copies of all drivers driving licences which was not explain at point of sale. When queried answer was " well if you don't like it I will remove you from policy".
Upon canceling policy we were made to pay £50 admin fee even though the policy was still in 7 day cooling off period. Ask how long it would take to get money back and cancellation to be complete answer...."When admin get round to it". Absolute joke of a company. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

The requirement for you to send us driving licence proof is indeed disclosed at the point of sale.

If you initially bought the policy online, there is a document titled ‘Important Information’. This states that we require you to send us proof of the driving licence within 14 days. At the same stage, there is our Terms of Business Agreement, which states what our charges will be if you decide to cancel the policy.

Before you are able to proceed with policy purchase, you must confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. If the policy is bought on the phone, the same terms are disclosed.

Regarding the refund, this is issued immediately. We apologise if this wasn’t communicated as well as it could have been.

I have been with this company for a while

I have been with this company for a few years after they smashed my renewal from another broker.
If I am honest and fair in placing a review I would say, the staff come across very friendly at the point of sale and upon renewal times. I have now both my vehicles with them as I am happy with regards to the price so far.
I have as mentioned had good service and yes at times due to having a specialised car and it requires market value and modifications added to the policy, staff have advised they will call back at certain times but haven't and I have had to chase them. But overall its been satisfactory. However, it's all about the claims procedure and I am hoping that this will be just as good and straight forward stress free should the time come to use it. Again if should I come across any issues again I will update my reviews to reflect this.

Absoloute joke of a company been with them for 8+years and have been lied to and extorted money from refunds due to their change in policy of not insuring automatics so big heads up as they have confirmed they will not be renewing any automatics once policy ends get looking for new insurers people

Very big shout out to Caleb for going above and beyond to get me a quote I was happy with after being turned down by every other company I was in contact with. First time trying an independent company and I have told all my car enthusiast friends about it who have had all their current quotes beat by Safely Insured.

Have been with them since Sky days around 2016. Competitive prices especially for modified cars. There was only one year that they didn't give the best insurance quote for me. Easy enough to deal with over the phone.

What an appalling company

I completed their form a week ago and paid £160 for 1 months temporary insurance. Payment was confirmed and I received an email with my documents stating that I would receive an email with the password to view the docs.

This did not happen so I checked my SPAM folder and it wasn't there. I then used the email provided on their site to enquire what was happening. One week later and I have received nothing.

What an appalling company. If there systems aren't working correctly I would expect their customer services to act quickly to address any issues, especially given the very nature of their insurance means that timescales are short. Why moneysupermarket.com would team up with an organisation incapable of doing something so simple is beyond me.

Great Customer service from Luke

Spoke to Luke to get insured on quite a difficult car to explain, Every other insurance company had no base knowledge on the car nor even knew what it is.

Luke had the knowledge of the car already which gives you hope when talking to a modified car insurance, as well as having great customer service.

Super helpful, polite and easy to talk to

Unable to cancel insurance no longer…

Unable to cancel insurance no longer required leaving me nearly £50 out of pocket.

Sent an email a few hours after purchase letting them know I no longer need the insurance, they are unwilling to cancel and are just going to keep the money.

You could have cancelled the insurance with plenty of time but fancied keeping the money instead.
