I booked two Umrah trips with Safa Travels for a large group of around 12 to 13 people, and both experiences were extremely stressful, misleading, and unacceptable.

For the first trip, we dealt with an agent named Shafak who provided a good package and was professional. However, once she left, the management showed their true behaviour. Despite us paying the full amount, we were told months later that our hotel in Makkah Tower had not even been booked. This was shocking and completely unacceptable. We were then pressured to pay additional money for something that was already agreed and paid for.

The situation became so stressful that it took weeks of arguments and escalation. It was clear they were trying to take advantage of the fact that we were already committed. Only when Shafak returned did things get resolved and the original promises were finally honoured.

Unfortunately, this was not a one off issue.

We made the mistake of trusting them again for another group booking the following year. This time, the booking was handled by another agent, SANIA. Initially, the package seemed fine, but the same pattern started again. After a couple of months, they began asking for more and more money with different excuses. We were forced to pay an additional 400 to 600 pounds per person. Payment terms that were clearly agreed were suddenly changed, and we were told to pay earlier than agreed.

For months, we were constantly chased for extra payments. The communication was poor, unclear, and at times completely unprofessional. It felt like SANIA was being controlled by management and had no authority, as she was unable to give clear answers or stick to what was promised.

Whenever we tried to escalate the issue, we were blocked from reaching proper management. We even contacted Time Travels, but they were unable to resolve the situation, which clearly shows a serious lack of accountability within Safa Travels.

This company’s pattern is very clear. They attract customers with a lower initial price and then gradually increase the cost once you are locked in and have limited options. We also came across other customers who experienced similar issues, which confirms this is not an isolated case.

This caused us months of stress for both trips, especially for something as important and spiritual as Umrah.

Safa Travels failed to honour their commitments, lacked transparency, and showed highly unprofessional and unethical behaviour.

I would strongly warn others not to book with them. We will never use their services again and will not recommend them to anyone.

This company was recommended to me. Although I am very wary about booking with agents from another city. Abdullah reassured me that everything will be as promised. He went above and beyond in assisting us with the booking and even kept in contact during our trip to ensure everything went well. He is a credit to the organisation and a pleasure to deal with. I will be using the company again in the future for sure.

Booked my Umrah trip with Safa Travel and they was excellent from start to finish, was very last minute on my end and they still managed to get me the best deal on flights/accommodation etc. it was Abdullah that dealt with it all for me and he was great would highly recommend. Alhumdulilah, I just returned from my Umrah journey organized by Safa Travels UK. Their team deserves five stars 🌟 for their meticulous planning and constant assistance. Everything from flights to hotel arrangements was handled smoothly. They were always just a message away, assisting us with every query and helping us navigate the trip with ease. They took all the stress out of the planning and provided amazing support throughout our time in Makkah and Madinah. Their professionalism truly allowed us to focus on our worship without worrying about the logistics. A big thank you to brother SHAHZAD and not to forget brother HUMZA who helped us in a few hiccups we had at the end, for making this such a memorable and well-coordinated trip!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Safa Travel.

From the very beginning, I made one request very clear, I needed a hotel close to Masjid al-Haram because I was travelling with my elderly mother. I was reassured that everything would be taken care of “like their own mother.” I trusted those words.

However, once payment was made, the attitude towards me completely changed. It became difficult to ask even simple questions without feeling dismissed or made to feel silly. This is not a company that proactively ensures their customers feel comfortable and informed. Communication was poor and often unhelpful.

When I later realised the hotel allocated to us was far from the Haram, despite my initial request, I raised my concerns. I was simply told, “It’s booked, it’s done, it can’t be refunded.” If I wanted to change it, I would need to pay more money. That seemed to be the solution for everything, pay more.

I also requested the Badr route for travel and was told that was not possible unless I paid additional money. I had already paid extra for transport on top of the original cost, and yet more money was being demanded. There was no transparency, no flexibility, and no real willingness to help.

While in Saudi Arabia, I needed assistance. Messages went unanswered for days. When replies finally came, they were brief, one-word, and completely unhelpful. For a company arranging Umrah and Hajj trips, this level of service is deeply concerning. People save for years to undertake this journey. I even explained that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to take my mother, and I felt completely let down.

The hotels provided did not meet the requirements I clearly outlined at the time of booking. We also had a discussion about Zamzam being included, and I am certain I was told it was. When I later discovered it was not included, it genuinely felt like deception.

The company assumes that travellers are already familiar with the destination and process. Many people are travelling for the first time. Clear guidance, honesty, and proper communication are essential — and sadly, these were lacking.

Overall, I found the company to be unhelpful, non-transparent, and dismissive once payment had been secured. Staff attitude and communication need serious improvement. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.
