All take no give service

All take no give service, from officers in particular. Not an appropriate/enjoyable travel option for the sick, vulnerable, elderly or for any decent, appreciative human being as a paying customer. Not worth your money. Research and avoid like the plague. So many more beautiful options out there with more to offer. Staff aren't happy either and do thir best to accommodate under the circumstances, poor, unsafe, non caring leader-ship.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises spoils environment

This morning Regent Seven Seas Cruises came with their ship Mariner in to Port Cartagena. The ship emits a noice of 60 dBA and spoil with that the environment of the people on the yachts in the marina. For the clients on board it must also be nuisance.We know that other ships are able to reach much lower dBA.
And then we didn’t talk yet about the engines not complying with newest exhaust emissionLevels. They cause smelly exhaust fumes.

My complaint is Regent do not offer 6…

My complaint is Regent do not offer 6 star service but charge 6 star prices
1. Before my cruise departed I rang them to try and upgrade my BA flight to World Travel Plus, was told I would have to forfeit my economy ticket and purchase a new one. When I checked in at the airport I upgraded at a supplement. Now why didnt Regent tell me that I might be able to do this!
2. We had included a 1 night stay and transfers included to ship. When we arrived at the hotel there was no rep there to advise what was happening the next day re transfer to port also the hotel had no information either only that the rep will be at her next the next morning. When we saw her that morning she said she was at the hotel the day before but didn't bother to try and contact us by phone or deliver it to our room.
3. Went to gym first day where there was a staff member working out playing music loud from his phone even when there was a lifeboat drill being given over the public address system.
4. The gym was a great disappointment, air conditioning antiquated and not efficient gym equipment was dated, seat on bike split. Small area for 2 bikes, 4 treadmills and 2 crosstrainers.
5. On our first day we had a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket so asked our cabin steward if we could have this delivered every day. Well we had 3 bottle put in our cabinet and replaced when needed however a ice bucket was delivered every day but it was too small to put the bottle in.
6. One night I came back to my cabin before dinner and found the door open with a door stop, I assumed they were still cleaning out cabin. When got back late that evening the door was still being held open by the stop so anyone could have gone in.
7. Only 1 device I could have free WiFi on!
8. Ordered Americano coffees in dining room 3 times before they got it right, 1st was coffee out of their pot, 2nd was an expresso topped up with water, 3rd had the obligatory creme on top. At breakfast had a fresh orange juice which was so thick it was like drinking a smoothy. I asked for another but not so thick, I got a thick one watered down! Ordered scrambled egg on toast with smoked salmon from the Buffet. After 15 minutes I went to find out where it was, it was sitting on the heat plate waiting to be served but by then the salmon had been cooked!
9.Had a meal in the Prime restaurant ordered tuna. I asked for it rare but it was served well done, they did me another one and again it was well done. The Maitre D came over and gave the excuse that it is frozen tuna, which I assume is his excuse for not being able to cook it rare!! In their best restaurant there was no condiments on the table and I sat with my coat on my lap, surely someone should have taken it off of me!
10. Sunbeds around the pool were so close together with little space to maneuver around them. The corners of the pool was dirt which was there for days. I lost my sandals and for 3 days couldent find them, went to lost property but they didnt have them, on the 3rd day my husband looked under the sunbed on the Pool deck for something and found my sandals. In our cabin we had a orchid which had thick dust on the leaves and after about 5 days started dropping it flowers, I did mention this and it was then taken away.
11. There was a Pool party one night, absolutely no atmosphere, sunbeds were taken from top and bottom of pool but 2 rows of sunbeds kept either side, such a shame as it would have been so much better to have had a clear deck with decorations. The outside entertainment was a man playing a steel drum which went on for about 45minues but the sound was non existent we couldent hear, why didnt a sound technician do something. Later on the ships company sang which certainly livened things up, shame the first 2 hours were so boring.
12. At dinner my husband had a red wine served cold, when he complained to the Sommelier, he firstly said it was the right temperature but when my husband insisted it was too cold he did admit it had been kept with the white wine, which you serve cold!
13.The automatic doors in the buffet restaurant were turned off because it was a bit windy however you could still sit outside to eat. When the doors were manually opened, which was a bit of a struggle, quite often the doors were left open so people in the inside restaurant were moaning as they were getting cold. Surely there should have been a staff member manning the doors, we were sitting outside and had to struggle holding a plate of food and opening the door.
14. At breakfast in the Buffet restaurant you are given cutlery wrapped in a serviette, however it was a lucky draw as to whether you got the right cutlery or more than you need! In the Dining room tables were not always set up properly, no glasses, side plates or condiments. A few times we were given a knife for fish, dessert spoon for soup!
The staff were fine just had not been trained to give 6star service and the Navigator is not a 6 star ship

Excellent cruise company

Excellent cruise company who have supplied us with a 5 star service on all the numerous cruises that we have taken with them.
Our most recent cruise was in February-March this year travelling on Seven Seas Explorer in the Far East; a fabulous all inclusive experience on an excellent ship.

Very happy Regent Guests

After reading some of the comments I felt obligated to write a review.
My husband and I have sailed with Regent for the past 10 years clocking up 12 cruises between all their ships. We have had excellent experiences. The crew, the comfort and service are all top class. Exciting excursions all included and many we would not have dared to do on our own but with Regent’s umbrella over us we felt secure. Our last cruise around the Caribbean on the beautiful Splendor was brilliant! Their older ships are still luxurious and have a welcoming ambiance. They occasionally need some tlc which is only to be expected. Any problems we have encountered have been dealt with quickly and by polite helpful crew.
I would not hesitate to recommend this cruise line the only thing I would suggest is that you book directly with Regent as dealing with their own cruise consultants is so much easier than going through an agent.

This is our second cruise with Regent

This is our second cruise with Regent. The first was great.
This time to return home we have to take theee flights- Lisbon to London, London to Montreal, Montreal to Atlanta. My husband is disabled. This will take the entire day. This is unacceptable.
I will it book with them again.

Worst experience EVER

Worst experience EVER. Practically they tell you when to eat, when you can swim, how you need to dress. The amount it costs you’ll expect to have a nice trip and relax at your own rithm. They made me change my clothes to dinner (not to be a an as@/$:) but I was wearing a designer tshirt and pants). CHOOSE ANOTHER CRUISE COMPANY!!!!

Wait staff was wonderful, management not.

Service by the staff in general was great. However, the ship was worn, constant cancellations of tours last minute without proper notification. All last minute fill ins were disappointing and bottom of the barrel. My first Regent Cruise, almost every frequent cruiser was disappointed and will consider Silver Seas. When a consultant called me to review my trip, I explained my disappointment, and he referred me to another number. I explained if I was dissatisfied, the cruise line should call me. No call was received..

You pay for what you get!

We went on the Historic Greece and Turkey Cruise visiting many Antiquities and Archaeology sites in May /June 2023, Visited 11 ports and saw the most incredible sites, the best method of seeing the sites as the ship cruised quietly through the night from Port to Port.
Extremely well organised with very knowledgeable Guides speaking excellent English. Tiring at times but with so much to see it was inevitable and extremely worthwhile.
Regent had prime places at Ports, visiting times and was small (600) enough to enter the smaller Ports.
On board the staff were excellent (450 to 600 passengers) and one was never wanting of excellent food or assistance. When recovered we attended the Variety / Musical entertainment shows or any of the other many activities.
ONE gripe - the worst ever main Speaker, Dr Jack Hardy exhibited by his diminishing audience unusual as normally they are excellent.

Worst ever cruise.

We scale Japan with Seven Seas Explorer. Service was poor from beginning to end in almost all departments. Particularly bad was the 2 hr wait to be picked up and taken to our hotel from the airport. Food variable with long waits and tepid offerings Excursions excruciatingly poor. Massively overpriced. Avoid this line and I would advise cancel any booked trip.

Don't book if you could become pregnant

My wife and I booked a cruise and she later became pregnant. Regent refuses to allow her to embark since she will be 24 weeks pregnant. They also refuse to provide a refund or any kind of travel credits for a future cruise. We even bought travel insurance. It is shameful behavior that unfortunately will likely end up in small claims court. I would be very careful before dealing with this company.

I also went on the Hollywood cruise…

I also went on the Hollywood cruise from Los Angeles, October 2022, having done a Rome to Venice one earlier in the year (April 2022). The Hollywood one was terrible - but I will come to that later.
Firstly, earlier in the year I did a Rome to Venice Regent cruise that didn't go to Venice! At the last minute they told us it would go to Trieste due to problems with ships going through the grand canal. This Venice issue has been in place for two years (I found out after the event) - and yet they took our money and left it to the last minute to tell us of the change. You would like to think that they would do something to apologise - an onboard credit, upgrade? NO. Silversea moor their ships very close to the Grand Canal, not two hours away in Trieste. Totally outrageous as I only booked the cruise as I wanted to see Venice! To take a 2 hour coach to Venice airport on the last day, knowing how close I was to my favourite city was so annoying. Incredibly poor customer service. That said, the Explorer was a beautiful ship, the food was good, staff excellent and I really enjoyed the cruise - but this is not really the point. No apology what so ever from Regent for the massive change to itinerary. I WANTED TO GO TO VENICE! Not the 6 star customer service you would expect from a 6 star cruise line.

Had I not already booked the second cruise later that year, they would not have had my return business. However, we had booked the October Los Angeles one and certainly regretted it. Firstly, this ship is far from 6 star. It is extremely old and tired, we had a Penthouse suite, the same as earlier in the year on the Explorer - the difference in quality between the two penthouse suites was incredible. Like comparing a Bentley to a Honda! How can the same suite on two ships be so different in terms of quality? In terms of the two ships - no comparison what so ever - from the suite, to the food, and I agree with the other review about the wine - exactly the same with us. Food wasn't great and very poor wine - not what you would expect from this high end cruise line. I love to have a bath and this is why we booked a Penthouse suite with extra space, I thought we would have both a bath and shower as advertised (Silversea have excellent baths in all suites). The bath in my suite was no more than 4 ft long - it really couldn't be classed as a bath. When asked if we could change suite to another Penthouse suite as the bath was not worth having so I would have preferred a stand alone shower with space - the answer was 'no'.

We also did a Silversea cruise last year and couldn't fault it. The comparison between the Regent and Silversea experience was huge. Regent need to up their game as they will be losing loyal customers to other cruise lines. In today's climate it is important to not only meet customer expectation but to try and go above and beyond. In the past we have loved our Regent cruises. What has gone wrong?

Today I received some offers from Regent but can't say I was at all tempted after our Los Angeles cruise experience (lots of other guests felt the same way, whilst queuing to disembark I overheard several stating how disappointed they had been). Instead, I have just booked my next Silversea cruise. Better by far in my mind... Sorry Regent, I would have liked to have said you were both equal but different - this is no longer the case.

Advice to anyone booking a cruise - look at individual ships - do not imagine that all ships will be the same quality if they are all from a high end cruise line. This is simply not the case. The Mariner (Los Angeles ship) is well beyond its sell by date and yet the Explorer was stunning - but a shame it didn't take me to the place it promised it would and left it until a couple of weeks before to tell me!

SEWAGE on Regent Seven Seas Mariner Do NOT CHOOSE Regent Seven Seas…

DO NOT EVER BOOK Regent Seven Seas Mariner and Bon Voyage Travel out of Tuscan, AZ for the following reasons:

I wanted to give you true feedback on my recent cruise that began on Sept 7 2022 from Vancouver Alaska Inside Passage.

I asked for a total refund for the upgrade to DECK 8. $5,600.
DO NOT EVER BOOK REGENT SEVEN SEAS!!! BAD SHIPS EVEN THE NEW ONE"S THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GO BANKRUPT!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!
1. SEWAGE on my DECK 8. This was on the first and second day. It was disgusting, made me sick to my stomach. How could this happen?
When the ship moved the waste moved with it..not sanitary.
Plumbing was a huge issue due to the movement of the ship, the crew said.

2. A MID-SHIP cabin is not supposed to constantly move even in port.
I missed every port except one since I could not sleep with the movement and I had upgraded for an extra approx 6k to not have this happen but it did because it is an old ship, old stabilizers, A/C did not work and a refurb will not fix this.

For instance when dining in La Veranda even in port the glasses were shaking on the table.

3.Repairs are constant. Cabin shower door had to be taken off and repaired.
This ship just left the dry dock so why were they banging away as we tried to locate it with the help of the wonderful head housekeeper.
After several hours the carpenter came to my room and said it was them working.

4. The food was just okay:
Prime 7 is supposed to be the best. I have had better steak at home and the lobster was tough.

5. The People the good, the bad and the ugly.
First, almost every employee on the ship was outstanding!!
Beyond outstanding!! My Housekeepers, Spa Therapists, dining rooms and everywhere you walked there was a big smile and of course I am a happy person so I loved this.

Security was excellent. Embarkation is excellent. Disembarkation is excellent.

Captain did not take any risks and the cruise director had a nice voice.

Except, the Destination Desk the people were angry with mean faces and just fixed to their computer and not friendly they seemed we were imposing on them.

My butler had to attend to 13 cabins. He never filled my written request for pretzels so simply asked every day and still did not deliver. Nice man but way too busy to give proper attention for the extra 6K.

The Cruise Consultant was so RUDE.
He invited me in to discuss other potential cruises and the moment he realized he had nothing to offer he stood up and asked me to leave.

Anyway, this is true and factual.

I am asking for a refund for the upgrade ONLY not the entire cruise.

I also know cruise companies have the bad reputation of never wanting to give anything back to their clients and now they have the chance to make this better for the industry.

I worked hard for 40 years and saved my money so I would be comfortable but it was a disaster.
The Travel Agency Bon Voyage Travel, Tuscon sells this cruise line and does not tell you the truth.
Oh, I recently rec'd an $800 credit which is horrible and I will not travel on this cruise line.

“Mariner Hollywood Cruise”…

Went on the “Mariner Hollywood Cruise” October 2022.
* Some of the staff were good but many were miserable and unresponsive
* much of the food was awful with tough meat and brown lettuce. They didn’t care. All the restaurants (apart from Prime 7) were very poor
* wine was awful and I mean really terrible. We insisted on decent wine without having to pay, but it was a pain every lunch and dinner. They lied on several occasions saying they had run out, when they hadn’t
* the bathroom (Concierge Suite) is too small and dangerous getting out/in of shower
* pool food was awful very third rate
* went see the Cruise Concierge on our second day to book a future cruise. He refused and looked gormless, he was only interested in selling us a $2.000 future cruise credit
I could go on but my advise, there are many better cruise lines out there. Ask me any question you wish and I will reply

No Regent Response

I have just read all the reviews on here as we are booking a Regent Cruise out of Los Angeles. All of the literature and general presentation indicates that Regent are a high quality business. Having read several negative reviews on here I am aghast that Regent does not respond with a solid customer service resolving response. But nothing. I am sticking with Silversea who really make an effort to respond to issues and complaints

Don’t count on Regent…

We signed up for and went on a cruise from Barcelona to Southampton. The itinerary included stops in Casablanca and Saint Malo the latter of which is the location for Mount Saint Michelle.

Both were dropped in favor of very limited and, many would say undesirable, ports with the attendant tours eliminated. The excuses given were tides and weather. The weather was beautiful and tides are known years in advance. Several fellow passengers commented that they or friends had had the same thing happen on earlier but recent Regent cruises. Having been to several of the stops before, I was particularly looking forward to seeing Casablanca and Mt San Michelle in particular. That’s why I picked this cruise over others. I know that the fine print gives Regent the opportunity to change Porch, but their rationale really doesn’t stack up.. or should I say ‘hold water’?

The excuses given don’t make sense, but I do recall watching download working with what appeared to be a tender operation training program as we boarded the ship in Monaco. Maybe they didn’t want to operate them as advertised.

On the bright side the food was great, the service likewise, and the ship beautiful and comfortable. That’s what kept me from giving only one or two stars.

A Real Disappointment

We travelled on SS Voyager from Civitavecchia to Barcelona March 26 to April 5 2022.

Our precruise stay at the Westin Excelsior in Rome was a mixed experience. The hotel is large and historic but tired. Our room fitted that description, large but with a shower door nearly off its hinges and rusting at the bottom. The breakfast buffet for all Regent clients in a huge barn of a public room was simply poor, lukewarm and unappetising.

Embarkation was smooth in Civitavecchia but our penthouse suite (959)disappointed. There were watermarks on one of the chairs, marks on the sofa and on the carpet beside the bed. The bathroom was showing its age with chipped paintwork. The shower was small although did the job.

The buffet breakfast and lunches at La Verandah also disappointed. They seemed short of staff as tables were not cleared and were slow to offer tea/coffee. The "hot"(generally lukewam) breakfast was of very mixed quality with bacon so crispy and burnt it was inedible. At lunch when an item ran out it was often not replaced. The main restaurant the Compass Rose was large and perhaps not surprisingly the service was slow and the food rarely hot. Sette Mari, (created in the evening out of La Verandah) with its attempt at an Italian vibe was a reasonable experience the first time we visited but seemed to deteriorate during the cruise . Prime 7 was good but Chartreuse, despite trying hard rather less so. As an example of what did not quite work, my wife, who loves Dover sole, ordered it on three occasions at both the Compass Rose and Chartreuse. On each occasion the fish was overcooked and lukewarm at best. This was simply not a top restaurant experience.
The wine on offer was decent although the choice more limited than expected. However the sommeliers mostly seemed to be at an early stage in their training, one not knowing the difference between a tawny and a ruby port and another not realising that a sauturne is not an unusual accompaniment to foie gras.

The excursions we went on seemed well organised with some good guides and whilst the entertainment we saw at the theatre was of limited scale we enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, adverse weather conditions meant that we had to miss three ports of call although we did get a welcome extra day in Palma. This seemed a sensible decision well explained on the ship's TV channel by the Captain.

Overall however the cruise left us with a feeling of disappointment with the state of the suite and substandard meals and service, particularly so after seeing the TV programme and general advertising claiming that Regent offered the best and most luxurious standard of cruising. I should add that the staff were generally cheerful, smiling and positive. In particular our butler tried very hard although even he could not disguise the fact that the canape service could not always be relied on. However we suspect that many of the staff are new and undertrained post Covid lockdown and the restaurants seem to be undermanaged with a lack of quality control in both restaurants and kitchens.

We are first timers on Regent, although not to cruising, having travelled with SilverSea (much better) and Oceania (also good) amongst others. However I should note that passengers who were old hands on Regent, whilst acknowledging the many shortcomings on this trip, advised that we should not judge them on this experience alone, which they saw as something of an aberration. Let us hope so, as we have another booking with Regent next April!

Lousy service - won't book at advertised fares.

Their ads claim to give good service, but it's a lie.

I saw a cruise on their website, phoned the UK office to book it, at the end they wanted more money than advertised on their website. When I queried this, they said there was an "error" on the website.

Despite emailing them, they have refused to honour the website fare.

They claim to be "better" than other cruise companies. But when my son had a similar experience with Celebrity Cruises a couple of years ago - no problem - Celebrity booked the cruise at the lower, website error fare.

Regent won't honour their website fare - I have to give them one star only because I cannot give zero.
