Disappointed Experience with Roomi

There’s no easy way to filter listings by your specific area — I kept getting results from all over the U.S. I reached out to Support for help narrowing it down, but never got a response. After three months of silence and no progress, I canceled my subscription. Best of luck to everyone else — hopefully your experience is better.

Total scam. They collect money. Don't have a working website and don't respond to messages. I hope they get sued.

Extremely misleading billing and overcharges. somehow accrued $120 for two weeks of use while just looking for apartments.

Terrible interface and bad vetting process of landlords full of scammers.

I really wanted to like the Roomi app and online interface. It's nearly impossible to edit and to save photos and descriptions (as they keep disappearing after saving and submitting). There is no way to change some of your profile attributes, once you pull the trigger. Arranging photos took hours. There are arrows that force a number-puzzle feature, without the drag-and-drop editing most sites offer. Even Craigslist is easier. It's less complex, but it doesn't offer the security verification Roomi does. I like that part. Customer Support are AWOL and won't get back to you in any kind of timely fashion. I paid for an account for a full month then realized the interface is completely unsustainable and unpredictable, unless you include timing out, deleting your saved information (description and many painstakingly uploaded photos) and the inability to edit your reviews of your own neighborhood and other pieces of information in your profile. This is awful. I really wish I could have provided a more positive review. I want a refund after only one day.

Update: someone did finally get back to me with a refund. Good luck with the app. Also almost no one from my city seems to be using Roomi. Still not worth it.

roomie is just so awful to use. Sometimes i can't log in. Sometimes, i can't even open a page. In the event i successfully open the page, I keep seeing the same 25 people each and every time. They deactivated my listing twice and i don't even know why... they randomly deactivate my listing and ask me if I found someone? if i found someone why would i keep my listing up??? Let me deactivate my ad myself!! I am trying Spare room now so much better!!!

Buggy site, they charge (a lot) for ID verification and I can't even message people !!!

I am personally not a fan of any site or service that REQUIRES personal info simply to access the website. To not be able to even see the site or explore their services (such as any possible pricing) without giving over my info and agreeing to terms & conditions is just a big fat no for me. I can't even find their customer service info to request my email be deleted, very sketchy to me.

Forget about finding an ideal roomamates or renting out a nice place, The major objective of this site is to pull your sensitive information’s and sell them to unsolicited third parties, Technically you sell your own personal data to them..Guys never –ever provide your sensitive documents to anyone Via online (DL,Utility bills,lease copy,your number,address,password etc )..Plz protect yourself from online forgery..You never know how they are going to misuse it.
