I had a fantastic experience with QA…

I had a fantastic experience with QA while applying for my DevOps Engineer Apprenticeship. From the very beginning, the process was clear, well-organised, and supportive.

In particular, I’d like to thank Humaira Kola, my recruiter, who guided me every step of the way. She kept me updated throughout, gave me helpful advice for preparing for my interview, and was always approachable whenever I had questions. Her support made the whole process so much smoother and a lot less stressful.

Thanks to QA and Humaira’s help, I was able to secure an offer, and I'm looking forward to this next step in my career. I’d highly recommend QA to anyone looking to get into an apprenticeship.

Avoid Digital & Technology Solutions like the plague.

I cannot believe the level of "teaching" that I have endured for the past year and a half.

If you are reading this with the intention of signing up for the Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist integrated degree, heed this warning: you will regret every waking moment of it and wish you could invent time travel.

While this course is apparently run through Northumbria University, it has nothing to do with the university other than the library and other intranet solutions such as Blackboard.

Instead, QA has opted to deliver this through their own staff and other third-party "lecturers" who are reading from a PowerPoint presentation and have no actual knowledge of what they're trying to convey. It is embarrassing to sit through.

Alongside the subpar (and this is being generous) teaching, you are ushered into breakout rooms every five minutes where everybody is sitting twiddling their thumbs because the content delivered was so bad that nobody actually knows what they're supposed to discuss.

You are expected to write assignments—usually centred around your business—based on the module content. There are no exams. Unfortunately, the feedback could have been written by a child (as could the module content itself).

You will have to sit through modules entirely unrelated to your pathway. This includes Business & Technology (which has nothing to do with technology) and Digital & Technical Leadership (which, again, has nothing to do with technology).

You'll have one dedicated module that will be relevant to your pathway, and it will be useful because someone with experience in your field will teach it. However, your mileage may vary.

You'll then be moved onto a Professional Practice module where you have to sign up for—you guessed it—QA courses, which are, again, taught by morons. You are given eight hours per week for your course and then expected to dedicate additional hours to complete these courses. This is never mentioned before signing up.

I wish I could leave this stupid, stupid course, but unfortunately, I have signed on the dotted line and can't. There is no way out of this hell.

Please, please, please do not sign up for this. You will have the worst experience known to mankind. It will be the biggest waste of your time, and you will never want to think about it again.

First of all I want to thank Nathalie…

First of all I want to thank Nathalie Payne for being such a big help in my journey of finding an apprenticeship. She has been there for me through out all stages. She would always respond quickly and always go above and beyond to make things happen. When you are looking for an apprenticeship, these are the qualities that matter and makes you feel appreciated. I would recommend QA as a whole for being helpful and can vouch for their staff.

Fantastic instructors

I did the intense Prince2 5 days course for Foundation and Practitioner- in classroom- and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The instructors were really good and make it engaging which was not an easy feat considering there is a lot of material to go through and a lot of learning to cover. Highly recommend.

Currently doing a Degree Apprenticeship…

Currently doing a Degree Apprenticeship with this company. Communication is poor, conflictive with a pompus attitude. Feedback is poor and appears to be generated from AI.

If I EVER end up doing another course with QA, I will have failed at life, and someone should do a welfare check on me, because it means I've hit rock bottom.

Disgusting treatment

My 17 year old son applied for an apprenticeship through this company. He was asked to telephone them back and when he did he was made to feel really bad about himself. They basically made him feel like an idiot which has really affected his confidence and self esteem. He completed the application to the best of his ability. There was no job description or person spec. If they had been clearer on what they wanted in an apprentice (on apprentice wages) then we could have all saved time and effort. He has very good qualifications directly linked to the job but just lacking experience in the field like most school leavers. I am disgusted at their treatment of a 17 year old trying to navigate going into adult hood. I wish we had recorded the call to prove their disgusting attitude. It's not hard to be polite, kind and professional. Clearly more training and compassion is required by certain staff members.

Great training

I have attended courses run by QA on many occasions and they have always been excellent. The trainers are highly knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to interact with, and whether in person, or online, the courses themselves have always been high quality.

Excellent Training Received

Just completed an online course with QA and I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the 3 days. The instructor was excellent in every sense, professional, engaging and knew his subject matter inside and out.
Always helpful when instructors have actually executed and lived and breathed the subject they are training on.

I really enjoyed Ian's approach to…

I really enjoyed Instructor (Ian's) approach to teaching the material. I liked the use of whiteboarding to talk through foundation testing concepts first before running through the slides.

I'm not a type of person to leave reviews but it's a joke me and fiance are young were only 18, and half of the staff here are soo rude it's unreal no manner and. Treat us like kids it's beyond the joke and we also have a 15 month daughter and they act like the know better then us and think where stupid I think they need to sort there staff out if u can't have respect then seriously ur in the wrong business u talk about saving life but all u do is cause depression and end life honestly I don't like to be mean but when is a constant thing its a joke

My business has used QA to find new…

My business has used QA to find new apprentices for the last 18 months and they've been fantastic from start to finish. Our Account Manager, Jack Steed, has been fantastic throughout and our apprentices are really enjoying their learning. Would highly recommend :-)

My learning experience with QA was Superb!…

My learning experience with QA was fantastic. From the quality of information provided before the training(Mimeo etc) to the training itself. Martin was excellent in his style of delivery. If every trainer with QA is like him, then it is a place to be. His use of real life and diverse example despite the diversity of the class was truly inspiring.

Product Owner Review with Learning Specialist Stuart Young

My Learning Specialist, Stuart Young, delivered content in such a creative manner. As mentioned before, his wonderful self-made illustrations helped our understanding of the content so much more than any technology tool would’ve. His activities were very insightful and he so easily built psychological safety within the group. I can assure you no one felt ‘scared’ to speak up and get it wrong. He was extremely motivating.

Aside from this, Stuart was also extremely transparent. He showed pure dedication to us learning through consistently reminding us that he is showing us a toolbox and not a checklist. Considering my group were mainly beginners in our field of Product, this was such an important clarification to make and Stuart did so numerous times. He always encouraged us to continue to do what our team and corporation do as opposed to telling us why he’s the best and we should take it from him.

Lastly, Stuart was so very personable. My group and I have had close to 5 workshops in the last 6 months, however, we’ve never had the trainer be so interested in our lives. His authenticity really showed true and I truly enjoyed learning but also getting to know him.
