More hassle than it's worth.
Given a £40 reward card which seems nice. But it acts like a virtual Mastercard. You cant add funds to it and you cant use it to part pay online. So anything you buy has to be exactly that amount. You can buy a gift card but most amounts arent customisable and gift cards often exist in fixed amounts. £40 is an off amount and so gift cards dont often exist in that amount. More hassle than it's worth and I think BT count on that.

We do appreciate your feedback, however a lot of retailers will not allow you to use part payment for online transactions. There is an option to purchase gift cards with this card, just make sure that the remaining balance of the transaction matches the balance of the card, so you can use the whole amount.

Why can't it be downloadable
Why can't it be downloadable to Google wallet, or similar?
It'd be far more in tune with the world as it is.
It feels like BT are trying to prevent us from using it

Looking at your account we can see you have registered correctly and just need to login to grab your card details (under the 'Card Info' tab).
The Pure Card in this case is virtual, so we will not send you something out physically.

Misled
When I swapped providers I was told that I could use the card to reduce my monthly payments but this is not true. I now supposedly have a card but can't use it. Not impressed

The Pure Card is virtual and can be used online like most usual pre-paid Mastercards. There are examples of where this can be used on utility bills, however you need to speak to the utility company first to make sure they will accept it.

What is this thing and why have I been sent it?
I have absolutely no idea why I've been sent this card and no idea what to do with it. It would appear that it is usable only on the Ee website for specific items and you can't use it in part payment so it doesn't seem to be of any possible use to me
