I decided to buy 5 x yellow shrimp from proshrimp this week, and it's safe to say i'm really disappointed.

I usually order my shrimp via ebay, however after receiving diseased shrimp the last time, i decided against it. proshrimp is quite a bit more expensive than ebay, and i foolishly thought it's because they're a more trusted retailer, and that the shrimp they sell would be healthy. i was wrong.

it was only when i put the shrimp in my aquarium today that i realised they were all infected with Scutariella Japonica (shrimp parasite). one of them was also deformed and missing an eye.

because i had already taken them out of the packaging, i know my chances of a refund are next to none, because i suppose i could technically be "lying" about the whole thing. however i think that's unfair, as its very hard to examine shrimp up close through a tightly tied plastic bag.

wish i'd just used ebay.

I can't complain I really love this place for my supplies. The stock and range is HUGE.

I first come across Pro Shrimp to buy some Aqua Soil which arrives pretty fast.

I've been waiting for SuperFish Scaper tanks' for while with them being sold out everywhere. Thought I'd give Pro Shrimp a visit and by chance had them in stock.

Literally arrived in 1-2 working days in excellent condition. I was a bit worried about possible damages with a glass tank arriving by courier but I was very impressed.

Ordered a tank which was leaking. They replaced it the next day. My suggestion is to contact them via email as they responded very quickly.

Amazing company. Very competitive price. Emailed me back very quickly. Delivery spot on and very fast. All plants came in beautiful thriving condition!! Ordered 7 times, so far every single parcel arrived quickly, faster than they estimated. All packed well, never had any issues. Plants are always big, healthy and growing really well. Shrimps also doing well still and it's been a few months now since I got them. Great shop with a wide range of stock. Absolutely will keep ordering, so far my favourite place to go to for my fish tank supplies

Absolutely fantastic company with excellent customer services. I had a issue with a (expensive) damaged product and pro shrimp dealt with it instantly and sent me a new one the next day. There communication was by far the best i have ever received from any company and resolved the issue in literally 10 minutes.
I also ordered Dragon Rock for my aquarium, if you have ever bought this before, colour and size very drastically. I left a note with specific sizes and colours i wanted and pro shrimp did exactly as i asked and the rock they provided was spot on. Fantastic experience and highly recommend. I will certainly use them again and cannot fault this company in any way.

I've had a great experience previously with Pro Shrimp, have bought lots of dry goods and have been well priced and arrived quickly. I noticed they have started shipping livestock again and experience was not as good. I ordered 4x Red Fire Sakura Shrimp. The title was a bit misleading, if you read the description, it mentions lower grades and even Cherry. 3 of the shrimps that arrived looked great, one was blue/red in colour. After looking around and seeking advice from a breeder, it looks to be a "cull" shrimp from. Pro Shrimp CS, when contacted, advised me it was "a lower grade red fire" and can change "moult to moult". Which seemed like a bit of a fob off. In hindsight the cost and vague description should have rang alarms.

Refreshing to find a company that delivers an honest reliable service.

I have ordered from Pro-Shrimp many times as they offer a wide range of aquatic supplies at a reasonable price.

They generally dispatch your order on the same day if you order before 11AM. If you order after 11AM, they will dispatch it before midday on the next working day.

They have a very fair free delivery option which requires you to spend either £39 or £49. Despite the free delivery options specifying 4-10 or 2-5 business days respectively, I am almost always delighted to see that Pro-Shrimp instead goes the extra mile and often uses Royal Mail Tracked 24.

On one occasion I paid for Next-Day shipping and the courier (APC Overnight) failed to deliver my items. When I contacted Pro Shrimp to advise them of the difficulty I was having with their courier, they apologised profusely and dispatched a full replacement order using DPD Next-Day instead.

Although I was frustrated with their courier, I could not fault Pro-Shrimp as they did everything they could to ensure that despite their courier's breach of contract, that their customer still got the items in a reasonably timely manner.

Sometimes takes a while to restock certain items, but I appreciate that this is down to their suppliers. This can often be the case with Live plants. Speaking of which, I am always pleased that the plants Pro-Shrimp send are in great condition, unlike other websites who sometimes send dead/dying plants.

Cannot fault this company at all. I needed some live plants for my aquarium, and my local pet store where I usually get them had been out of stock for months. I usually prefer getting them from a store myself as you can see them, and choose them. However, from now on I can safely say I’ll be using Proshrimp. The plants I received are of a superior quality. Green, luscious, and full of life. I ordered an Anubias attached to driftwood, and I’ve never seen such a large, healthy looking Anubias, it’s amazing. I ordered a type of Limnophila, which unfortunately they couldn’t find the last one of. However, Kim sent me an email telling me this, and offered me a different plant in its place, or a refund. So already communication was top notch. I replied saying not to worry, and any similar plant would be great. She emailed me back saying she had just had a delivery of more plants, and on it was a slightly different type of limnophila, so had packed that one for me instead. So, what more could you want from a company, high quality plants and unbeatable communication? I’d also like to mention that these plants came so quickly, within 2 days of me ordering I had the plants planted in my tank. I have since purchased a Betta, and he is absolutely loving them. He spends his life pushing through the leaves on the limnophila, or small echinodorus, and then resting on the Anubias!

I never write reviews, but I felt Proshrimp really deserved to get some good feedback. I would not hesitate to use this company in future. They are amazing. Highly recommend.

Hadn't heard of Pro Shrimp previously but needed some things for a garden pond and they certainly came up trumps! Ordering, communication and delivery all great so would highly recommend them.

Very pleased

I ordered live beings for my aquarium that needed quick delivery. DHL have failed to deliver saying they couldn't find my postcode, then when I call their IVR it relays my postcode back perfectly. In 3 years of living at this address, I've never had any issues with deliveries. I think thier driver just decided he couldn't be ar**d, because the pin he dropped showing where he'd 'attempted' delivery was over 2 miles away, literally up a random lane.
To top it off, you can't speak to anyone. Never, ever, ever (I really can't stress this enough) ever, will I use DHL. Nor will I order anything living from ProShrimp again if this is who they use.
No doubt that IF I receive my package tomorrow, everything will be dead. Good job they don't courier organ transplants. Utterly abysmal.
#Updated and moved to 4 stars# Proshrimp have contacted me after emailing them, assuring me they will offer replacements if anything arrives dead / decaying, so at least Pro-Shrimps customer service cares. Still have yet to hear anything from DHL though....

Ordered some aquatic products in which a part of the order was missing, Kim answered my email within a few hours and I received the items today.

We all make mistakes but it's how you deal with them that is great customer service.

I ordered a fish tank which broke after a few months. Pro shrimp have ignored three emails I have sent them to get a refund.

plants arrived dead but received a full refund eventually.

Fast delivery. However, first 2 tanks turned up damaged due to poor courier handling. Customer service excellent both times and new tank sent out really fast. 3rd time packaged with extra protection and arrived fine and all set up. Very prefessional and impressed with the time it took to get rectified. Couriers fault for damage so cannot mark that against them. Only small thing I would say because of this is extra polystyrene and bubble wrap when sending . Would recommend.
