Our trip to the English Countryside was top notch. PTE worked with us to develop an itinerary perfect for our interests. They made recommendations that were very help. Kyle suggested a hotel is Keswick which was a gem.

Our driver, Peter, was excellent! He was very knowledgeable, good humored and an excellent driver. He made sure we saw all there was to see in Bath, the Cotswold's and the Lakes District. We would never have been able to see all this if we had driven or taken a coach. He took such good care of us ensuring we had all the tickets to our chosen museums and points of interest. He literally escorted us right to the entry points at all of our stops. We felt very comfortable and safe with Peter.

This was our first time using a driver for a vacation and it will be our chosen method from now on because of the great experience with had w PTE.

We thought we were paying for a "private tour" where our guide would park the car and give us a personal tour. Instead we were just dropped off to join the line. One day we had no breaks for bathroom or food until 3 pm. Another day we were dropped off at the wrong pier (for the Thames River), had to run a half mile to catch the boat, and the guide just gave us an excuse, no apology. We spent a lot of money for a fancy car and someone else to book our tickets.

Our driver Graham was the best! Extremely knowledgeable about the history of the country, a great driver, and a great guy too!

Graham did a great job. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.

From the beginning I felt secure and the services were magnificent. Sandy did a great job coordinating everything. Her outgoing personality made us to have an extraordinary stay in London.
By the other hand, Kyri the driver was a pleasing men and very understanding. Good humor, responsible and punctuality, made our trip vibrating and alive. We had a wonderful day with Dean. He was a terrific driver and tour guide and kept my kids happy and comfortable all day. We highly recommend Dean!

Graham was absolutely wonderful! We did a day trip to Leeds Castle, Canterbury, Royal St. Georges, and Cliffs of Dover. He was very accommodating and full of knowledge! We enjoyed him immensely! All three of our young sons loved him—lots of laughs! Highly recommend!

Finding a good tour company is a big decision. I found these folks on google and trusted them to plan almost every aspect of our trip. The did an excellent job!!! Communication was very good. They took the time to listen to what we wanted and provided great advice. Everything went perfectly:). I highly recommend this company if u are planning a trip across the pond.

Dean was the highlight of our trip. Fun, informative, sense of humor and catered the trip to us. Set the tone for our two week adventure and made the day together memorable. We still think “mint sauce” now when we see sheep! The Bath/Stonehenge visits were great but Dean was exceptional!

Shane and Dean were a great team, showing and explaining to us the sights in and around London. They were especially good with my 97 year old mother. The company is honest and reliable.

Dean and Shane made us feel safe throughout our trip. Highly accomodative to our every requests. Guided us well when we’re lost considering we have our elderly parents and two children with us.
We truly enjoyed the whole experience. Both Dean and Shane were knowledgeable on the places we visited in London, Stratford and Bath.

Best part Dean was superfunny in his commentary while Shane was our personal bodyguard - we were regularly entertained and protected at all times.
They were with us from the 14th July to 21st July 2024.
In addition, Dan was the driver for 2 nights for our Wicked and Phantom of the Opera Shows. He was just as amazing - which made our experience the more special.
We had two more drivers who were great as well. This made us feel at home.

Kyri was an outstanding driver and guide on our tour of London. He had great knowledge of the city and many anecdotes about English history. He did his best to get us as close as possible to sites we wanted to photograph. Thoroughly enjoyable day!

My wife and I just completed an extended holiday in London. We used Private Tours London for an extended trip to Kent/Royal Tunbridge Wells to visit places like Chartwell, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle etc. The Private Tours London team could not have been easier to work with. Everything was seamless and Peter, our driver/guide, was terrific. I highly recommend them.

Our driver Graham arrived for pick up on time and in good humor. He was funny and chivalrous. He had a high level of knowledge from London history to Shakespeare. He was very professional. We felt extremely well taken cared of. The car was huge and comfortable. Super clean. Will definitely recommend and use this service again.

We booked a private tour to Stonehenge and bath this year and our experience has been great. I booked this trip from the US, and their communication via email was prompt, and honest. Our driver guide graham made the whole time so pleasant and enjoyable. He was patient and accommodating and offered options when possible. I definitely recommend them for private tours.

Mark was an amazing tour guide! He took us to places we never had imagined and made the trip for all of us very enjoyable. I would highly recommend him and the company!

The good: 1.The itinerary-we got to see a great overview of London and the surrounding country. The accommodations (except for the first hotel-see below) were first rate.
2.Our driver, Kyri, could not have been more accommodating. Once he realized we had some mobility issues he adjusted accordingly. Informative and entertaining, provider of great snacks (I will never stop craving Portuguese tarts), on time and just a joy.
3. Hotel locations- I was able to get out and walk at the end of each day by myself and felt safe exploring.
The not-so-good:
Communication- after booking, there was virtually no communication. We think this is because there was a typo in our contact email -their mistake, not ours - but PTE had 2 phone numbers for us, an alternate email, and our travel agent’s email and phone. Yet somehow it was only 2 weeks before the trip that we were able to make contact. I think we could have had a better experience in London with more communication, because some of the landmarks we were supposed to tour were closed or we arrived at a time where access was not possible. So drive-bys only of Buckingham Palace, Westminster and Big Ben, despite information to the contrary in the tour literature.
The London Hotel: The St.Giles was a nightmare. They are renovating and we were placed in an unrenovated room that smacked of hostel. The suite had 2 tiny, dark unconnected rooms of dubious cleanliness, with a chunk of flooring missing that created a surprise hole under the carpet. We did not book a budget trip but this was a budget hotel or less. Upon complaint to PTE, we were moved to a renovated room -still tiny and not a suite, but clean. Either PTE didn’t know how bad this hotel was (bad) or they did and booked it anyway (very bad). We were supposed to return to this hotel for our last night but PTE honored our request to move to a better hotel.
Hotel glitches: we arrived in Bath to be told that we would need to pay for our pre-paid room because “the credit card didn’t go through.” PTE immediately corrected after they were contacted but it was a nasty surprise. PTE blamed this on the booking agent, but the buck stops with PTE and all accommodations should have been confirmed prior to our arrival. The last hotel in London demanded to see the credit card that booked the room. Not possible, since it wasn’t our card. Again this got fixed but it was an aggravation at a time when we were travel weary.
Comments: I think we would have been better served by having the choice to have the day of arrival free. We could have explored on our own at a relaxed pace, possibly just a sightseeing bus, but instead we were booked on a food tour which felt like too much. Communication would have helped.
There was a representation in the tour documents that strongly implied that our “private tour guide” would be with us at numerous sights. In hindsight, I don’t know if it was intended that we would have these guides at each location or if Kyri would be accompanying us rather than dropping us off on our own. We had one scheduled tour that was guided, in Bath, but otherwise we were on our own. If it was supposed to be Kyri, I got NO sense that had been communicated to him, so I absolutely do not fault him.
