Hi! Thanks for leaving a review. We would like to offer reasons for the current cost of the product. The following things have all increased dramatically.
Cost of produce (veg, meats, fish, spices, herbs etc)
Cost of tubs
Cost of delivery (boxes, ice, foil liners, fuel charges).
Wages (as national living wages have increased, we have increased our staff wage too to cope with cost of living crisis).
Corporation tax increases.
Cost of energy - We are paying double what we were 6 months ago which is thousands.
We could decrease our prices by buying lower grade ingredients however we want to be as healthy as can be without using poor quality stuff packed with things that could be dangerous to health.
When customers return, they consider the positives.
Time saved (making lists, going to supermarket, time spent putting away, time spent cooking, then tidying away).
Health - giving the body unpolluted top quality vitamins and minerals.
Portion - weighed out for each meal giving the body just what it needs.
Money saved - yes this is true, people buy lots of "deals" they don't actually want or need when enticed at the supermarket. Then paying for the energy to cook it.
In these times it's a case of navigating our way through it the best we can. I'm sorry you feel it's expensive but hope you can understand our reasonings why we price the way we do.

Hi, firstly, shouting down the phone and name calling is not something anyone should experience - customer service assistant or not!

1. Delivery being late - We have addressed and offered to resend. This is something outside of our control and we have upheld this area of complaint and attempted to rectify.
2. Boxes being smashed open - Whilst this is rare, we always offer refunds for this and have already offered this to you.
3. You chose 2 deliveries. This means a total of 2 deliveries. Your prior experience of other prep companies should not be assumed that we work the same. There is no confusion here. 2 means 2.
4. The cooking instructions are on the sticker. It states microwave from chilled. Meals come in a microwavable tub. We also have cooking directions under FAQ. If you needed further clarification, you could simply ask the question. We have plenty of other channels where you can get in touch and ask (Social media messaging, website webchat, email, phone).
5. The sticker also clearly says ‘consume within 72 hours – 3 days’. 3 days from that time is the use by date so we ask that the meals are consumed within this time.
6. Shocking customer service

I agree, the meals coming late with a few of them smashed isnt the high standard of service we offer usually and we will be taking this up with the courier. But please lets have a proportionate response.

You were on loud speaker when you called as you immidiately became angry and abusive. The person tried to offer you explanations however you took offence and became aggressive after which point you hung up. There was absolutely no blaming. Just because you dont accept the facts doesnt mean its poor customer service.

I have offered a refund as we dont want business of this nature nor do we tolerate the level of abuse you gave.

We hope you find what you are looking for in another prep company and hope you conduct yourself in a better manner if/when something goes wrong in future.

Thanks for taking the time to review.
Literally, from the same batch, someone else has left a review on another platform stating that there was too much spice and food was too rich. We aim to cook meals down the middle however your pallet isn't the same as the others. Thankfully, this example shows we cater down the middle. (Two extremities with different opinions made from the same batch of food).

It just goes to show you can't please everyone.

Garnish on rice - we don't use this. We wonder if you mean ground pimento? We use this on the jerk chicken rice and pea and is a common ingredient used on this particular dish. We don't use anything else on the other meat/rice meals.

Regarding being over priced, we have had to increase our prices recently. Hopefully (by now) you will be aware of the increases in cost of living. This affects businesses too. Rent, wages, tax, cost of ingredients, cost of packaging, increasing costs of energy, costs of delivery Inc fuel have all got to be factored in. Thank you for giving us reason to explain this otherwise, others (like yourself) may not understand this and might assume the viewpoint of being overpriced.

Regarding only having meat dishes only. We offer 23 different meals. We offer a meat bundle, a meat and fish bundle, a vegetarian bundle, a vegetarian and fish bundle, a vegan bundle and a halal bundle. If you were not sure about availability, why not ask? We have plenty of channels (email, instant web chat, email, insta, Facebook), if you found the website difficult to understand.

Thank you for trying the service though. Rating the service as overrated is thankfully just your opinion.

Hi Caleb - Great to here you are enjoying the meals and sorry to hear about the container. This can happen occasionally when they are mishandled by the courier and we always try to put this right. One of the admin guys will be in touch over the next day or so to discuss. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a review.

I would like to address each point of your review with the facts as you have omitted so much here.

1. The order was lost as you failed to input the correct postcode.

NOTE - WHEN THIS HAPPENS WE CANT DELIVER THE PARCEL SUCCESSFULLY FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.

2. When DPD got in touch, we dropped everything to assist by immidiately ringing you (no answer), emailing and texting you to ascertain the correct postcode which eventually you sent. This was actually me that was chasing this from home, on my day off.

3. Having got in touch with DPD I was informed the van had already set off to which I notified you meaning your parcel could not be delivered. We did our best. Your response was 'its an expensive mistake if this was to happen again' insinuating that we were to blame. For the avoidance of doubt I explained we could not make delivery if the details were incorrect. This was factual but you took this as condescending.

4. Even though we take no liability for the mistake, we offered to resend the meals 'at cost' as a goodwill gesture. We did not need to do this.

This was met with insults and threats to leave bad reviews.

I am confidant our response was going 'above and beyond' and will not apologise for how you read or took the emails.

There are plenty of great reviews on here to showcase what we are truly about and even though you have attempted to dint our reputation, we wish you the very best in finding someone else to prep your meals :)
