Closest word I can think of to describe…

Closest word I can think of to describe this branch is fraudulent.
I came to the Porsche garage in Preston last year, after seeing the 718 I wanted online. I travelled to Preston to view the car, but it hadn’t arrived and the salesman I spoke with didn’t even know the car was going to be available. Easiest sale of his life. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to negotiate any discount off the car given the market, so I asked for 3 years Servicing. Hoping for at least 1 years service. The salesman said “I can give you 2 years servicing and I’ll throw in an extra key ring.”
I put the deposit down on the car, and was just going through the Porsche finance process. I had a better residual value from my own finance broker, but I gave Porsche Preston the chance to look at other options. They couldn’t beat it, but the salesperson brought in the finance partner/manager to discuss with me. He said he couldn’t beat it but would give me 2 years service. I told him I’d already negotiated that with the sales person. He then agreed to include my road tax.

Fast forward 12 months, I received an email saying my service was due. I booked a date in the diary in the near future with the service team. To my surprise the email confirmation about my booking had an extremely large cost for the service. I was expecting it to be £0. I called up and explained I had 2 free services. I was asked who the salesperson was that sold me the car, then I was put on hold. I was then told I would get a call back from the manager as the salesperson no longer worked there.

I received a call shortly after by the manager. I explained that I had 2 services included and told him who the sales person was. He then explained the sales person was no longer with the business. I said that’s fine, because it was also confirmed by the finance business partner. Guess what! He also is no longer with the business. They have both moved to the Middle East with immediate effect.
I then had an extremely rude and patronizing tone from the manager. It came across as if I made the whole thing up. I explained that I bought the car above market value, and the deciding factor was the services included.
I have been away for the last couple months with work. I asked the manager to look further into this, and I have heard nothing back. I also have spoken to the receptionist and the service team and still have heard nothing.
Very big coincidence the 2 individuals from Porsche Preston who agreed the 2 services, are now no longer with the business….

Cars are great customer "service" dept are appalling

Porsche: 5760876

A 5 time Porsche owner who experienced inherent defects on a Cayenne E Hybrid. Agreed 3 years ago that I would be offered appropriate compensation on my next Porsche. Guess what, the person dealing with it has left and they won't honour the agreement. Not even a complementary Experience at Silverstone.

I lost over £16,000 on trade in yet others (footballers in Chester) received full compensation.

Untrustworthy and changed their argument whenever countered. Paul Bolton is the most unprofessional customer facing service manager I have had the misfortune to deal with. Continually changes argument after being refuted, can’t spell and calls customers by the wrong name.

Will be taking issue up with Motor Ombudsman

I agree with Porsche Hatfield…

I agree with the reviewer, below, about Porsche Hatfield. I've been in there, spoken to people and overall they dont treat you like someone spending a lot of money. They need to pop along to Aston or Bentley 200 yards away to see how it is done. It's a poor effort and I imagine the Porsche Retail Group, that owns them, is similar across all their showrooms.

Worst experience ever

Ordered a new Macan in new colour Papaya last year through Porsche Edinburgh. Supposed to be delivered beginning Nov, few delays with very poor communication at times but finally got car in early Jan 23.
After only 4 months noticed very bad chipping on car along both lower sides. Orange paint with white underneath so didn't look good. I don't off road and am never off main roads doing fairly low mileage. I've had several new cars over the years and never experienced this problem before
Contacted dealership and basically told it's normal "road rash" and nothing they can do, even sent me pictures of a 2 year old one which was very badly chipped to demonstrate that this is what happens !!! fat lot of good that did to help reassure me.
Tried going in past Porsche Perth to see what they said. They said they had not experienced any issues with "road rash" on Macans, bit bizarre I thought. They took pictures of damage and said they would pass to warranty folk and get back to me. Waited 2 weeks as no response, e-mailed again for an update and never even received a response.
Owing a Porsche was always a dream for me but unfortunately it turned out to be nothing short of a nightmare.
Ended up having to sell it before the damage became too extensive and devalued the car as I was not prepared to fork out thousands £££ getting the car repaired then covered with PPF which is apparently what you have to do, doesn't stop the chipping just protects the paintwork
Porsche are obviously fully aware of this defect on the Macan model in certain colours but have failed to do anything about it apart from fitting a postage stamp size piece of PPF in the rear door quarter. I tried to get mud flaps fitted to help solve the issue but they advised "we don't do mud flaps at Porsche"
I will never buy another Porsche again as I found the paintwork quality and durability to be inferior to brands half the price and their after sales customer service to be a disgrace. I feel they simply hide behind the Porsche badge making you feel like its a privilige for you to own one so don't complain !!!!!

Contacted Porsche Cambridge 2 days ago expressing interest in a carmine red 911 Carrera they have in stock and asking could I have more info about history and condition etc plus a video of the car . , all I got back was an auto email acknowledgment . Can’t believe it …..the car is 70k and they are not interest in following up my sales lead , looking at the feedback about Porsche customer service on this trust pilot site this sound very familiar …. What if you purchased one and had an issue…..same treatment maybe ? Has put me right off this dealership…

I love my new Macan GTS car but the service is horrendous!
I’ve just spent £70k the car had damage when we collected it !! Someone had knocked it on site so was told to drop it in for repair a week later to get it fixed.
it’s been sitting their for a week with no work done on it and they just want me to just wait until they get a space in a few weeks ! I’ve had the car a week! I explained I need my car as I’m having to Uber but they don’t care and just make up so much rubbish which makes no sense.
The only good person there is Kelly !! Who actually cares and isn’t full of BS like the sales team!

Should of stuck with BMW

Truly appalling service, 6.5 weeks for warranty repair

The AC charging facility on my Taycan RWD stopped working, rendering the car unusable. I was recovered to Porsche and a wholly inferior loan vehicle was provided. I immediately complained and was promised something better but it took 4 week to materialise.
A further 2 weeks after that, my car was eventually repaired.
I was without my car for 6.5 weeks in total as the spare part was not available. Further, there was no knowlege of how long it would take to arrive.
To be without my car for 6.5 weeks, with no apology, no compensation, no concession is an appalling way to treat a customer from what I would have expected to be a quality brand. In the first 48 weeks of ownership, to lose 6.5 weeks of use and be met by silence is unbelievable

Bad experience .. Porsche Hatfield

Bad experience ... reserved a car after being told it was available ... drove down there yesterday and was shown the car. Then was told after being there for 45 mins that it was already reserved for somebody else up North and wouldnt be seen until next week. Baffled, I paid a deposit as well as being in the showroom for 1 hour 30 mins whilst they scrambled around to to look for another car.

Be very careful with Porsche Hatfield

My Cayenne bought from Porsche Hatfield in July 2022 had a braking problem which they blamed on some kind of contamination on the brakes. Their recommended remedy was to replace all the discs and pads at a price of nearly £17k. I asked a lot of questions they failed to answer and would not contemplate any other remedy. Some answers they provided felt entirely misleading. Having lost all trust in Porsche Hatfield I recovered the car and took it to a Porsche specialist that reached a very different conclusion. Resolving the problem cost less than £1K. I will never use Porsche Hatfield again and have embarked on taking action against them through trading standards as I don’t want other customers to be put in a situation of being faced with huge costs for work that is absolutely not requires.

Utterly confused and hugely disappointed.

Utterly confused.

This relates to Reading and Swindon centres.

Tried for many years to get Porsche Reading to give me a price for a new car against a trade in for an older Porsche, the call never came. Complacent beyond all belief.

On Choosing Dick Lovett, I found the sales person there Jay Morris to be top rate. After this things have fallen down.
The "tech" in the cars when using for a period is cumbersome and distracting. The car also appears to have a mind of its own, it goes into privacy mode, and denies user access. The music turns off at will.
Porsche prices with Dacia support and service. Onus placed on owner to resolve, this should not be the case. The problems should not exist, this is a premium German brand. If there are problems it should be taken in and resolved not left with the customer.

Our previous ownership experience also started with a tech based dispute when the SatNav did not run nor have post code detail, that was soon overcome by the driving pleasure, however this feels more integral to the car, the tech plays such a big part in this cars operation and its really lacking from a functionality point of view and a reliability perspective.

The best Porsche Dealer I have ever dealt with

We have been using Porsche Hatfield as our service centre for many years, and purchasing new cars for the last few. The service from the team has been absolutely top class every single time we’ve visited. Specifically Barry Wright in Sales and Louis in Servicing.

Fallen off the rails

I have owned a Porsche of one kind or another since the 1990's and sadly, having bought two brand new cars in 2022 the only two things I can say that are good are:
1. The sales person who did the second hand over at Reading, Chris Piper. Well done and thanks Chris for making the handover of my second Taycan such a nice process, and such a polar opposite to the first.
2. Porsche are at least consistent - consistently bad. Porsche is without doubt the worst car manufacturer that I have ever experienced. It wasn't always this way so I don't know why and how it has come off the rails so badly.

Thinking of Buying a Porsche - Think again

I have to say I have had experience with - not only Porsche Sheffield, but also Porsche Chesterfield and Porsche Nottingham and never had a good experience with any of them. That said, I'm not Mr Angry nor Victor Meldrew - just someone who reports good service when he's had it, and likewise poor service too.
I'll restrict my comments to Porsche Sheffield. I've had 2 dealings with them in the last 18 months or so. Communication is always poor - taking an eon to get a response....if at all. The first occasion was when I needed a new key for my Cayenne. The key was fine. What I didnt like was the targeting of the Service to "sell" me repairs. I accept its a practice of many Main Dealers but to receive a quote for some £800.00 of "repairs" was just plain irritating. I checked with my usual Porsche Specialist who reported the "repairs" didnt need doing.
Moving on to the second time - November 2022. Probably the worst. Shocking Customer Service [it would take too long to go through it here]. But the Cayenne being a 2011 I wanted the SatNav updating. Cost £250.00. They had the car 3 days (there were some "recalls" to do too. I eventually got a call from the Receptionist on the 3rd day to say "sorry, we cant do it the PCM system wont accept the update. OK, fair enough says I. I get the car back and 2 days later I want to use the Satnav. It wont work, the maps are totally wiped off the system and its totally useless. Complaint to Porsche Sheffield revealed that it was my fault and that the PCM was faulty, no help, no resolution no nothing. So I'd say if your looking for a Porsche Repair, go to an independent Porsche Specialist. That said I'm sure they'd love to sell you one.
As a footnote I received today the following ....so if you ARE think of buying a Porsche - think again.
Basically its a report from Warrantywise which idicates from their statistics that "The premium German brand has just been named the most unreliable car maker in a report that analyses the volume of faults, cost of repairs and days off the road for all the major manufacturers."

Barry Wright gave an exceptionally bad customer service to me and my wife, steer clear!

Had a car on order for 8 months to finally get my build slot and they put the price up by thousands of pounds when I had waited months. I can’t believe they have done this to me, I feel so deceived and have a very bad feeling towards Porsche Centre Hatfield.

Porsche Reading’s Sales Manager is so RUDE !!!

I had a horrific experience at Porsche Reading on Saturday - Went in to buy some accessories and parts and was then approached by the sales manager Michael Grady who accused me of attempting to sell a car ! I’ve been a Porsche owner and enthusiast for 24 years and never been so rudely treated. He couldn’t even apologise in person or by telephone when I called him four hours later. I think customer care at Reading is at serious risk with “fools” like this heading the ship.

Edinburgh Porsche Centre

A grinding and protracted purchasing experience that is on par with changing utility providers. From start to finish, at no stage has the process been straight forward, managed or customer focussed. Constant chasing is required, delays and lack of feedback are endemic. Attending in person at the Dealership was pointless as no sales staff were available on site. Sliding delivery dates, changing forms, repeated registrations, sales staff changes, price increases, et al. They have jaded the relationship with Porsche going forwards and ruined the enjoyment of purchasing a "marquee" type vehicle.

Awful and rude customer service

Order your car elsewhere - I placed an order with Porsche Hatfield for a new 911 but after selling my old car elsewhere as they offered a better price I received a tirade of abuse from one of the sales staff. I lodged a complaint and they never even bothered to reply. Needless to say I cancelled my order and went elsewhere. Stay well clear of Porsche Hatfield.
