COMPAIR WITH OTHER POLICIES PONCHO PRIMIUM IS BETTER OFF. BUT WE DONT KNOW YET HOW THEY RESPONCE FOR THE CLAIMS. WE HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE THEIR SERVICE AT THAT TIME.

Easy set up process. Cheapest premium in the market for sure. Hopefully the claim process(if any in future) will also be smooth and hassle free.

Just start using then due to Tesla recommendation. hopefully I do not require they assistance...

While the pricing of premium and overall quote process etc. were very positive, this review is about a recent claim experience and is where things become a little rough around the edges.

TL;DR - if you want anything done, call them, do NOT email because nothing would get done

Firstly, when I lodged a claim online I received an email saying it has been received and Poncho would get in touch within 24 hours. 72 hours passed and nothing, it turned out someone had sent an email to the wrong email address, I don't know how that could happen given I received the automated email with no issues.

Fast forward to after the repair, there was no communication around how to apply for cost reimbursements (uber etc.), and I had to call to ask how this is done. The phone call was informative and efficient, and I was told to submit supporting information to a Poncho email address. I received a reply within 24 hours at first, but after I responded to that email, radio silence. Due to work and other commitments this was shoved to the back of my mind, but after 4 weeks I still received no further response from Poncho. I called them today, and within 2 minutes the operator was able to start processing the reimbursement, implying nothing was done after my email reply 4 weeks ago, very disappointing.

Extremely unhelpful customer support staffs during presales (not just 1 person): gave out misleading information, being stubborn about some obvious issues in their system and was unwilling to help, failed to acknowledge the bug on their website. I have dealt with a number of customer support people from various insurance companies in the past and this is the worst one. Luckily I didn't sign up with them, took my money somewhere else.

[Update] As repeatedly mentioned, I purchased my car brand new from a local Toyota dealer, 100% certain it is _not_ an imported vehicle. Using different rego number of same model can get quote successfully. Very likely it is an issue with the rego data of your system. I understand Poncho is not obliged to sell me the product for whatever reason. It is this unfriendly/unhelpful custom service attitude which made me feel disappointed.

Submitted a claim online last night, 4 phone calls today and still waiting for the claim confirmation email which was promised 4 hours ago. Staff has no clue either how online claims work. Never had this experience before with any other company!!

If you are shopping for a cheaper full comprehensive insurance give Poncho a try. Cheap, Great customer service ( will definitely answer all your queries regarding your policy ) really is a bang for our buck and straight to the point no bullsh*t policy
