Nothing to do with Italy. This is Asian place, with Asian cuisine. Staff barely speak English. The place is of a questionable hygiene. Not nice when you witness seagulls standing on tables devouring leftovers. But above all, nothing to so with Italy or Italian cuisine.
Fabulous food as always
Had the sea bass and rice today, it was amazing, fish was fresh and perfectly cooked and seasoned generous portions, best fish I've had in a long time

He welcomed us with a big smile, told us where to go and where to place the order.
He was really patient with us. As we took time deciding he walked us through the menu, and told us the most popular options and he’s recommendations.
We ended up buying chicken wings with rice and the pizza margarita.
The food was amazing.

What an absolute shame! I have loved this restaurant for so many years. I lived in Italy for 10 years and when I am back in Birmingham i always come to la Vera to just experience what I miss! Pizza!. So decided to come back after years with my mom for my birthday, my pizza was ok I ate it all as i waited all day and saved my appetite but my mom's was dry and very bland. What was worse than the pizza was the waitor who we expressed this disappointment too, he was so rude and kind of laughed when we said there was hardly any cheese it was embarrassing. He didn't offer a refund or at least a drink on the house. Disgusting service and so sad as I loved it here but I will never come again not even with my friends. It's a disgrace to call yourself la Vera and sell Italian pizza's but not only give a pizza like that but respond in the way he did. From Somone who comes from hospitality and has worked in various different situations like this myself I can tell you now maybe some training is more needed. It's such a let down and completely makes sense why most of the people was opting for the simple dishes ( chicken, rice and chips ). Too the guy who was so rude thanks for ruining my time with my mom and my birthday fatto bene, sei così bravo nel tuo lavoro!!
