Unbelievable service. I put in a claim and within 48 hours it was paid with zero questions asked. It’s so easy and takes the stress out of pet insurance

Our claim was handled professionally and fairly quickly as we informed the claims department at our vets immediately after making the claim with Sainsbury's Pet Insurance. All in all we are pleased with the service received.

Good communication keep you informed an my vet was paid within 5 days.

We have been with Sainsbury's Pet Insurance for over 20 years with various pets.
Our recent experience has left us appalled by their lack of care and misleading policy.

We adopted a French bulldog cross in Oct 2025. Applied as before for insurance (we have two other dogs insured with Sainsbury's) policy documents uploaded into their portal.
Unknown to us after underwriting the insurancers placed an exclusion for breathing difficulties.

Fast forward to May 2026 Rodney became suddenly very unwell. Admitted to vet and after two days sadly never recovered from a pneumonia.

Obviously heartbroken that we had lost our 10 month old puppy we submitted our claim for his treatment and euthanasia.

Days later recieved an email that our claim had been refused due to the undisclosed exclusion.

So we lost our pet, haven't been able to claim back any of his treatment costs and to add insult to injury Sainsbury's continued to take payments for his insurance policy.

Sainsbury's show no care or compassion, we have spent £100s of pound each month insuring our pets with them over 20+ years and they just don't care a jot.

I wouldn't recommend Sainsbury's pet insurance at all.

Now we are dealing with a bereavement and thousands of pounds out of pocket.

All was straightforward and Sainsbury’s is a name that I trust.

Fast and easy claim made direct through the vets. Didn't take long to make the decision and Money went into my account within a few days of decision being made even though there was a bank Holiday in between. Couldn't have asked for better

As expected a very quick, satisfactory claim and pay out.
I took out Sainsbury's Pet Insurance for my two rescue kittens. I could have continued on with their four week temp insurance with a very well known, celebrity advertised insurance but I remembered the previous time I insured my rescue pup with Sainsbury's and how amazingly supportive they were throughout his chemotherapy at the end of his life. Nothing was too much trouble and with sometimes instant responses, they made the situation and treatments so much easier - even the vet was impressed. When I did eventually lose him, Sainsbury's customer service were so sympathetic and settled quickly.
Having taken out Sainsbury's Pet insurance for these two kittens, I discovered the cystitis treatment which one had started 13 days after taking out the insurance, was still covered as Sainsbury's PI took into account, she was previously insured (and healthy). Brilliant!
So happy I made this choice and confident I have a fantastic ally in the care of my fluff balls 😁👍

Really easy process, clear to work through and great price

Seemed like a good policy when compared to others and a name that I know. Was able to pick different options to suit myself and my dog.

They settle the invoices veey quickly.very friendly and helpful on the phone

Bought multi pet insurance policy for our two puppies, but you have only acknowledged one of them, hence the lower review, if you can send a text message to my phone number or an email to our email address, that would be fantastic.

Within a week of submitting the claim for a big operation payment was made to the vets. This was not a cheap procedure my dog needed. I am highly impressed with the claims process and how stress free it was.

I had my previous dog Pearl poodle with you she has just died and you treated us wonderfully hence renewal for Lola our new toy poodle xxx

Claim handled with the utmost professionalism and speed.

The claims process for an ongoing condition for my dog was simple and efficient. The money was refunded into my account without issue.

Renewal premium increase 140% said it was based on vet fees increase, age of our mixed breed dog ( 3 years) and "other considerations", which they could not divulge. I lodged a complaint asking for the premium to be reviewed and was told that was not possible.

All I did was sign up for insurance for my 2 cats, and I have received about 50 emails from them since. I didn’t sign up to ANY emails at any point, it is extremely frustrating. I haven’t even used my insurance yet and then you have the audacity to ask for a review. LEAVE ME ALONE

The claims process was really easy and the payout was very quick. Would recommend!
