We had a very disappointing experience…
We had a very disappointing experience with this charity. We donated £10,000 for a mosque project but never received proper updates or detailed information about the progress. Despite making several complaints and follow-ups, we were not given any clear response. However, we continue to receive calls asking for more donations and support for new projects. This has been our experience, and it has caused serious concerns for us.

I am extremely disappointed with my…
I am extremely disappointed with my experience. If zero star option was available I would pick that
I made payments from January 2023 to October 2024 totalling £625 towards 2 water well projects, believing the funds would go towards completing that specific charitable work we are now in 2026 and i still have no proof. Despite the payments being taken, I have not received any clear evidence that the project was carried out instead i was told that i have not paid enough and there is payment still outstanding.
I have contacted the organisation numerous times over the past year asking when the wells would be completed as this was supposed to be completed by July 2025. Each time I was told that someone senior would get back to me, but no one ever did. After repeated attempts to resolve the issue directly, I was left without answers. I feel let down and ignored after making what I believed were genuine charitable contributions.
I would strongly urge anyone considering donating to penny appeal as I am now over £600 short and that money was supposed to be used for people who needed water and it was supposed to be in my childs and parents names.

From reviewing your account, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding how the payments were allocated towards the specific water well projects. Sometimes, when multiple payments are made under separate order references, they are not automatically grouped toward a single well unless selected or completed within the same appeal structure.
That said, we absolutely understand how frustrating this must feel from your perspective, especially when the intention was to honour your child and parents.

There was no minimum payment requirement. I was able to donate the amount I wanted to.

Shameful charity
This is probably one of the worst charities, with unislamic manners and unethical practices. A charities integrity is also reflected upon the treatment of the people who work for them. After hearing several testimonies from employees and ex employees, there is a consistent pattern of incredibly poor/humiliating/abusive treatment towards employees/volunteers. This behaviour starts from the top down and I would recommend others to do their own research before donating. This is a shameful charity and have a lot to answer for. May Allah forgive and guide those responsible.

Event attended
I attended an event advertised for everyone showcasing two prominent speakers (Gabor Mate and Basem Yousef). The event was to begin at 6:30, everyone was ushered in and told to rush in. They had 6 different speakers, one in particular shaming people into donating publicly (Islam encourages anonymous donations). The main speakers didn’t come on until 3 hours later. Tickets were pricey, people were tired, it was a work day, poorly organized and misleading in its advertising. It felt like a scam event. I and many in the audience left when the redheaded man came on to shame people into donating. It was awful. People need to read into Penny appeal. Only 60% of the donated money ever goes to support a cause. One star is even generous.

Its been numerous years since i contact them and tried again with them this year in January, called numerous times and guess what nothing its another year that is going to pass and this organisation is not interested in those who put their time,effort,energy to raise funds for them.
