Paid reviews

Giving mixed or negative reviews to the best products while giving perfect scores to products full of negative user ratings. Their continious conflicting opinion with user ratings, especially when it comes to big companies, makes me believe they are paid to review.

They use "Paid To Review"

This company use, what is called "paid to review". They give best reviews to whoever pays them. Its so disappointing that companies do this purely for greed. Listing old and out of date GPUs as best is a sure sign they do this.

I remembered why I no longer go…

I remembered why I no longer go directly to this site for reviews. Amazon Music Unlimited gets 4 stars and one con. Give me a break. The interface is obnoxious. Their tiers are comical. This all started when I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get HD contact. Duh, because I didn't pay for a family plan, stupid me thinking a single person would need that to get HD. You can't even give feedback to PC Mag because they don't want it.

PCMag removes negative product reviews

PCMag: "Your comment on WhatsApp Review violates the community guidelines and has been rejected"

The sender however failed to provide a valid link (the link they provided went to an unrelated page) to the community guidelines or tell me what part of them my comment violated.

I sent this to a posted address at PCMag "How does this review violate your community guidelines? Clicking the link for community guidelines takes me to an unrelated page. As there is no explanation, I assume whoever told me it violates the guidelines is lying, especially as he or she will not show me the guidelines or what part of them I violated."

As I received no response, I assume whoever removed my comment lied about it violating the guidelines noting that it was an accurate review of WhatsApp based on my personal experience with it (namely, it is unusable without a smart phone which I do not have; it required me to scan an image with a smart phone even after I installed it on my PC).

I found the terms of service myself and I found nothing in them that my review, again based on my personal experience, violated.

I must accordingly conclude, rightly or wrongly, that PCMag removed my review and lied about it violating the community guidelines because it conflicted with the positive review of the product given by the magazine's staff.

Another page full of nerds that r not…

Another page full of nerds that r not rly nerds but look like em. They r young and know nothing about what is right. They only know how to build a pc. Lol its sad to see many reviews dat dunk on chips and what not totally misinformed. For exmaple pcmags claims the 5500 is a bad gaming cpu...plz just go home.

Before your nerdism pumps up and thinks im better than him. I hold a bunch of 1st world records on specific systems (on air), on for example 3dmark. Let me explain again nr:1 in the world. I die of laughing reading many reviews everywhere and pcmag is another laugh.

PCMag rates Sirius XM at 4.5 when there are NO ratings above 1 star to be found. Literally zero.

I want PCMag to explain how they can rate Sirius XM at 4.5 stars when after searching newest to old then oldest to new - AND EVEN SORTING BY BEST, quite literally ALL reviews were one star!!!! Absolutely none higher!!!!!

Check it out yourself

Google this:
pcmag "Sirius"

It seems like PCMag ignores the customer reviews and takes money from Sirius XM to decide the rating. And I have NO way to ask PCMag directly.

Essentially all complained about what my experience was: Sirius XM raise the rates by over 100% (once over 200%) and they make it impossible to cancel (really - effing impossible), and their contract makes us agree to pay if we don't cancel.

Why would PCMag do this if not for money from Sirius??

Fiction.

Fiction.

I googled to see how to convert a YouTube file to mp3. PC Mag UK had an article giving 5 recommendations.

Proceeding cautiously, each recommendation quite clearly was malware and attempted to get me to download all sorts of unrelated nonsense which would damage my pc.

Would I ever look at PC Mag again 🤔

NO

The articles written on this magazine…

The articles written on this magazine are pure fiction. The different comparisons they make are either paid by sponsors which are favoured, or are just poorly documented and base on the opinion of the writer. It's just nonsense. Please save yourself some time and skip this one, you will definitely not make an informed decision after reading their magazine or online articles.

Terrible delays - Broken Product - Poor communication

I was very excited to see the computer they listed with the specifications I was looking for at such a reasonable price. I made the purchase for roughly $450 dollars and it arrived towards the tail end of the expected delivery window. No problems there. However, the box itself was in really rough shape. There were holes in it, it was smashed in places, and it appeared to be barely holding together. I was worried about the PC inside, but upon opening it everything looked to be fine.

Everything was included in box as expected. The PC appeared to be fine. I plugged it in, turned it on, it powered up, then it immediately died. Not a good sign. After rebooting several times, I managed to get the PC into recovery mode (mind you, Windows has yet to even be installed at this point) and I get an error stating something along the lines of a corrupt boot sector. I take my own personal copy of a Windows 10 USB recovery drive and boot the computer using that. I manage to get windows 10 installed and start noticing that the screen is flickering. Within 10 minutes the screen is flashing different colors and then going out completely. I open the machine to inspect it and everything seems intact. After troubleshooting for several hours more I suspect the motherboard is failing, which the display ports are wired into.

This was a big disappointment. At this point I knew I was going to have to send the computer back and get a replacement, but I figured the company would promptly make things right. Unfortunately, I was wrong. This is where things start to go downhill. I email the company on April 11th to inform them that the computer was broken, requested a replacement ASAP and gave them my contact info. 2 days later I get an email apologizing that the computer wasn’t working and that they were forwarding my request to the fulfillment team for next steps. I wasn’t given a timeline on when I would hear back. 2 days after that April 15th, at the end of the day, I email them to let them know I still haven’t heard back. Another 2 days goes by, now April 17th and I get an email saying they are still waiting on the fulfillment team. Okay fine, but still no timeline.

Finally, on April 21st, roughly 8 days after I first emailed, I get an email with return information. I ship the product back as soon as I could on April 25th and sent a follow up email requesting expedited shipping of a replacement. Keep in mind my initial purchase was made on April 1st.
I heard nothing back until May 1st. They inform me that unfortunately due to staffing they can’t expedite the process; they are going to take another 7-10 business days just to review the unit before even sending a replacement.

14 more days pass. It is now May 14th, and I send a follow up email letting them know that I am a little frustrated at this point. I haven’t heard about the status of my order or whether my replacement has been shipped. I acknowledged that they are short staffed and that there might be circumstances beyond their control with COVID, but am hoping they can wrap things up quickly because at this point its been about 6 weeks since I paid for the product. To their credit, they then message me back apologizing and assure me they will ship the product by the end of day May 15th, which they do.

12 days later the PC finally arrives on May 27th. Almost 2 full months after my initial purchase. The item has been shipped in the same, now even more damaged, box barely held together with a ton of tape. Luckily, this one has worked so far.

What I am primarily bothered by is the lack of flexibility in their replacing the broken product. Even sending it expedited shipping would have been a nice gesture. Given this experience, I have very little trust that they could fix a more significant issue and I can’t recommend purchasing from them in the future.

pcmag.com deletes facts posted in story comments

1. pcmag.com deletes all useful comments added to their stories.

completely separate issue:
2. pcmag.com is paid to write positive stories about website software, and any feedback posted on their articles is also deleted.

pcmag.com can not be trusted & does not want the internet market to know facts.
