I would be extremely cautious when buying vehicle from Pavilion Motors.

Serious concerns about vehicle condition, transparency, and after-sales conduct

I purchased a 2018 Volvo XC90 (registration DA18GYE) from Pavilion Motors Ltd for £21,495. Shortly after purchase, it became clear that the vehicle’s condition was not as represented at the point of sale.

On inspection, the car showed signs of poor previous repair work, including paper placed inside a headlight unit and wood screws used underneath the vehicle at the rear, which immediately raised serious safety and quality concerns. Based on the condition professional VOLVO dealer and individual garage , believe the vehicle wasn't even fit to pass an MOT in that state.

Despite these concerns, I was required to travel from London to Manchester to collect the vehicle, and then drive it back to London, even though the condition later identified would result  in MOT failure. This caused significant concern for safety and unnecessary stress.

After raising these issues, communication became extremely difficult. I experienced contradictory explanations and a lack of transparency, and I was effectively refused meaningful engagement unless I arranged multiple inspections at my own cost. To progress the matter, I had to miss several days of work and personally attend:

- a private mechanic inspection,
- further independent checks, and
- a Volvo main dealer diagnostic.

The Volvo inspection raised serious concerns about the quality of previous repairs and suggested that the vehicle may have been involved in a previous accident. Volvo also advised that, based on their findings, the cost to properly repair the vehicle could be in the region of £16,500, highlighting the seriousness of the issues identified.

I exercised my legal right to reject the vehicle. However, recovering my money was extremely difficult and time-consuming. I was forced to escalate the matter through the finance company, obtain manufacturer-level diagnostics, and fund inspections myself. In total, I personally spent over £1,500 in inspection and related costs simply to evidence the vehicle’s condition and secure a refund.

Although the vehicle was eventually returned and refunded via the finance company, I find it deeply concerning that the same vehicle has since been relisted for sale at the same price, despite the issues identified and documented during the inspections. In my view, the vehicle does not reflect the value implied by that price given its documented condition.

I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from this dealer to carry out independent inspections and to proceed with caution.

Enquied for a car and got a phone call in 5 minutes whichever was great. Put a deposit down to hold the car while I was dealing with some finance from my insurers. Unfortunately didn't come through, contacted them to explain, asked for my deposit back, asked for my details so just waiting but cant fault the customer service i have had.

We set up to view the car and they clearly haven’t ran the car for months, the battery was completely dead, the tires were flat and the breaks were rusty. Can tell that they don’t look after the cars properly they just want to quickly sell them so you have to deal with all the issues, didn’t feel like a professional environment at all, a tight office space with loads of guys and customers waiting, having to walk past cars being jet washed. Can definitely find somewhere better

Asked to leave a review after I called to cancel my purchase and get my deposit back (I have found a different car closer to home with lower mileage). Having seem some negative reviews on here and other sites I was a bit wary, but I can honestly say I couldn't be happier with the service I received from JIMMY - lots of info when I was enquiring about the car and he processed the refund of deposit within 5 minutes of me sending him a WhatsApp message. Very attentive and no issue with me cancelling - reasons understood. Jimmy is a credit to the company.

Avoid at all costs, very pushy, bullying demeanor adopted by all staff, wasn't sure whom I was dealing with as everyone in office was putting in their two pence worth. Car was not as described and has several faults that has left me out of pocket. Will try to get you to leave review before you leave, hence the good reviews they do have. Tried to say I didn't have any consumer rights as I didn't pay an admin fee....absolute rubbish. Tried to upsell a warranty package that was massively overpriced and unreasonable. Robbed my vehicle in part ex and as a result overpaid on faulty, leaking vehicle, overall worst car buying experience of my life and was borderline getting police involved as felt more like a hostage than a customer. Please save your hard earned money and do not go near these crooks.

Came to view a car on 22nd November and from the very beginning they were really pushy wanting us to leave them a good review before we had even looked at the car so then we could take it on a test drive. Then while one guy was dealing with us at the beginning it we then ended up getting passed around to different people and in the end we probably dealt with about 6. Tried getting in contact with them on 29th December over still not receiving the log book from the car but no response for them so had a look online to apply for one and says they only sent it off on the 16th December. Avoid at all cost and save your time and money

Avoid at all cost!!. I am from Scotland and seen a car i liked, enquired about the car, seen the countless videos and pictures of the car and it looked good. Got told the car was in very good condition. Spur of the moment i decided to get the car, opted for delivery at £650 up front.

Got told it would be a few days as the car was going for an mot. One day later, I received a call from the "delivery company " saying the car was just away to leave and will be delivered that day, unfortunately I was working so arranged for a family member to receive the car.

When i got home, the car had been deliver but the car had been driven up the road 300+ miles. Left on the drive with 0 miles left in it, the drivers rubbish and the car was covered in dirt and oil. ( brand new Empty oil tub found in the boot and according to them its standard for them to add 1l of oil for delivery, even though i was expecting it to be delivered on a lorry). The " delivery company " was actually just an employee from the office of this dealership. Now for the car, missing spare wheel, missing parasol shelf. Body work missing paint and excessive chips, dents and scratches, paint flaking off around the head lights, passenger seat belt does not work, electrical faults flashing up on the computer and finally no paperwork or v5 or new keeper slip.

They asked for my bank details so they could tax the car as they had lost the v5 and had applied for a new one.

On contacting them, I was met with lies and no interest in help. I got offered £150 refund.

To this date they have still not rectified or acknowledged any of the issues and I have still not received a new v5 and was fed with more lies.

I have since then just had to accept this £17000 car is now going to cost me over £4000 to fix and i have put it down and a very hard lesson learnt

Please do not buy from these people ever! Horrible creatures!
