I wouldn’t even rate 1 star but I have no option but to click that.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. I ordered a wardrobe worth over £250 which was marked as “delivered”, however when I returned home from work, it was nowhere to be found.

I contacted the company immediately, but instead of helping resolve the issue, they repeatedly asked me to provide a crime reference number. I reported this as requested, only to be told by the crime team that this situation is a civil matter under the Consumer Rights Act, not a police issue meaning they cannot issue a crime reference number.

I passed this information back to the company, yet they continue to ignore what I’ve provided and keep asking for the same thing, rather than taking responsibility or offering a resolution. I’ve now been left out of pocket with no product and no refund.

As a result, I’ve had to purchase a replacement wardrobe elsewhere, where the service, delivery, and communication were all handled professionally something this company has completely failed at.

Very poor customer service, lack of accountability, and no effort to resolve a genuine issue. I would strongly advise others to avoid.

As the parcel was shown as delivered by the courier, and you reported it could not be located on your property, the courier classed this as a potential theft once delivery had been confirmed. In these circumstances, they require a crime reference number as part of their standard investigation process, which is the procedure they follow for parcels reported missing after being marked as delivered.

We fully understand your comments regarding the advice you received from the crime team. From our side, we are required to work within both courier procedures and the Consumer Rights Act, which sets out responsibility once goods are confirmed as delivered to the address provided.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment caused, and we do appreciate how frustrating this situation must have been. This matter has now been fully resolved and your refund has been processed.

I phoned to make sure the cabinet I…

I phoned to make sure the cabinet I wanted was in stock and was assured it was. I ordered and paid. Received a confirmation e mail but after 5 days still no information about delivery. During this time I phoned the store and was assured delivery would be by the end of the week or beginning of next week. During this time I sent an online message on your site (no reply) also, an e mail (no reply). Today 3rd phone call I was told the one cabinet at the warehouse was damaged and it would be 7_8 weeks before one was back in. Dreadful customer service. I would not use them again.

We have checked our records and cannot find any emails received from you via our system. When you called to chase your delivery, we immediately contacted the supplier, who unfortunately advised that the item had been damaged and could not be dispatched. We then relayed this information and the updated restock timeframe to you as son as we were made aware.

Following this, you chose to cancel your order, and your refund was processed immediately.

Excellent experience. Lots of updates along the way and communication with customer service was fantastic. Speedy resolution of a problem I had after assembly too so zero complaints.

Save your time and money

You need to stop using fedx have had no update and still wait bring back shops sick of companie take money then thinking your time means nothing easy to phob you off on line was going to buy the matching waredorbe not now ivery poor next day means next day not when you feel like and it all someone else fault would give you 0 star

Excellent service from this company

Excellent service from this company, from placing the order to delivery. I was kept up to date by email and knew exactly when to expect my furniture. I was so impressed with my first order that I placed a second a week later. There was a slight issue with one part but this was speedily resolved to my complete satisfaction. I have no hesitation in recommending this company and have already done so.

Very happy customer! Great customer service!

We received excellent customer service from start to finish. Quality of the furniture is outstanding and such good value. Very quick delivery and delivery time was true to what was estimated, no long wait from when the item was ordered. Great communication and very quick to reply to messages. 100% customer service

I ordered a wardrobe that was scratched upon arrival. I contacted customer service and Katie went above and beyond to get me a partial refund for the damage or a replacement of the parts that were damaged. Katie kept in contact with me through out the refund process to ensure there was a favourable outcome to my order. Thank you Katie for a great customer service experience.

Fast and efficient

From ordering to delivery of my goods my experience with Own furniture was extremely fast and efficient. Even although I had a problem with one of my chairs it was sorted out in no time. The emails I received were very courteous and pleasant and at no time did I feel as if I was a bother. I will definitely use Own furniture in the future and advise my family and friends of this company.

Avoid Own Furniture – terrible quality, robot-like customer service, and dangerous delivery

I bought a cupboard from Own Furniture, and it broke during normal assembly. I contacted them expecting a straightforward solution, but instead I got endless generic replies blaming me and refusing a refund or replacement. They claimed the damage wasn’t their fault, despite the product clearly being faulty. Their emails repeat themselves constantly, just like the scripted responses I’ve seen them post on negative reviews — they sound like robots reading from a script.

The delivery was another nightmare. They said they would call 30 minutes before delivery, but never did. They left 96 kg boxes blocking the entrance door, so no one could get in or out of the building — completely unsafe and unacceptable.

No matter how many times I explained the situation, they kept repeating the same defensive lines and offered no real resolution. They even told me I could escalate to outside authorities, as if I hadn’t already tried being reasonable. I just want my money back to buy a proper cupboard, but their rigid, frustrating approach makes it nearly impossible.

Do not buy from Own Furniture. Poor quality products, robotic customer service, dangerous delivery practices — this company will drive you crazy. Save yourself the time, stress, and money.

Regarding your comments about our communication, we do follow set policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness in how all cases are handled. Our Director also offered to personally attend and inspect the item to help resolve the matter.

As you have raised a chargeback, we will now liaise directly with the relevant parties to ensure this is handled appropriately through the correct channels.

Overall an absolutely fantastic…

Overall an absolutely fantastic experience. Products exceeded expectations, flat packed furniture is rarely good quality or easy to assemble, but to my surprise these items were both excellent quality and easy to assemble. Items arrived quickly and were delivered with due care and attention (Fedex), although one item was incorrect, Own Furniture resolved this and arranged a collection and exchange within 48 hours. Customer Service absolutely brilliant (Katie is a superstar). I have no hesitation in recommending this business and its products.

5 star service

Ordered a bed from Own Furniture on March 2nd ; small family crisis meant I needed it asap, so I was delighted to find it would be delivered in 72 hours which was perfect.
Then there was a problem with a faulty delivery which I believe was no fault of Own Furniture.
I was not happy and due to the pressure of the family problem I was a tad crabby about it.
However, a gentleman named Will sorted the problem for me in minutes and did it efficiently and with very good grace in spite of my less than courteous attitude.
I would like to thank him and Own Furniture, I would not hesitate to buy from them again and most definitely recommend using this company.
5 star service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Poor quality furniture and even worse customer service

We ordered two Alva open wardrobes and after constructing the first one realised the quality was very poor with problematic dowels, peeling vinyl strips and the drawer unit was damaged in one corner.

Customer service advised they would not refund us for this purchase even though we felt it was unfit for purpose. They offered replacement parts which we did not want as the overall quality was so poor.

They also requested £35 to return the second unit that had not been opened and would not waive this even as a good will gesture due to their "standard return terms".

I would avoid this company at all costs and spend a little more money with a more reputable one. We gave the units to charity in the end after a long email exchange that was going nowhere.

We do kindly ask customers to thoroughly inspect all components before beginning to assemble to help prevent any potential further inconvenience. As the first unit had been built using damaged parts, our resolution in line with our policy was to offer replacement parts to bring the item back to perfect condition. We completely understand that this was not the outcome you were hoping for, but this is the process we follow when parts are reported as damaged after assembly.

With regards to the second unit, as it was delivered as described with no manufacturing faults or damage reported, this falls under our change of mind returns policy. As outlined in our terms, there is a minimum return charge of £35 to cover the collection and handling costs. While we appreciate this may feel frustrating, we do have policies and procedures that must be applied consistently.

We are genuinely sorry that you felt dissatisfied with the service provided and that we were unable to reach a resolution that suited you. We do appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
