Yes, they’re Scammers! Stay Away.
I’ve been reading the review and they’re all familiar to me. I paid them for three years and less than half of my debt is settled according to them. I don’t know what got paid and what didn’t. I told them l was revoking my permission for them to debit my account and of course that didn’t happen in a timely manner. They ARE scammers and the worst decision I ever made was trusting them. Now I have a letter from the courts for one of the debts and I don’t know if anything was paid on it or not. I do hope someone has a lawsuit against them. I asked where my money was going and they said “that they were running a business “ I continued to pay and they took a lot of money from me.
DO NOT USE THEM!!!
DO NOT USE THEM!!!! They are in court now for ripping people off! You will end up owing more money!!! They are a scam!!

Giving them one star is to generous
Giving them one star is to generous. They lied from the start and try everything move they can to make it almost impossible to complete the program. I survived everything the put me through and follow everything that I was instructed to do made almost a $2000 payment to complete to finish program and complete my account. Again they lied. I normally don’t do reviews especially like this but it is extremely important to get the news out about companies like to protect others before they fall victim to Option 1 legal. I
would have been better off dealing with my creditors myself. Please I’m not just saying this to be vindictive. It’s to protect others from falling victim to them. They are a 0 star. They will tell you anything. Can’t be TRUSTED

Horrible experience with this company
Horrible experience with this company. I have been lied to several times about what I still owed, only to have them add more payments. DO NOT USE. It's a scam bordering on fraud.
LEGAL SCAM
After everything I've been through with OPTION ONE I decided to call this company a LEGAL SCAM. No matter how much you argue, prove your point, talk to them or go to BBR. This company is protected by their lawyers and after they take your money there's really nothing u could do about it. I Finished my 4 years with them. They paid $6000 out of $17000 that I paid in total. Almost $10,000 went to their fees. I still have an outstanding debt of $13,000 and they want me to keep paying them. Eventually a debt of $20,000 has become a debt of $33,000. For me as a consumer a someone who tried to do the right thing by paying her debts is sad to see how people take advantage of our vulnerability. Not only I lost all the money I paid them $17,000 but now I don't have enough money to keep paying $13,000 that I still own to the credit cards. All these credit cards sent me to court, they put leans on my house. Eventually I am going to file for bankruptcy. PLIZ stay away and save your money we all work really hard to pay these credit cards to end up getting robbed.
Just say....No thank you
Just say....No thank you, and keep it moving!
***WARNING*** DO NOT FALL PREY
***WARNING*** DO NOT FALL PREY
I fell prey to this company like so many others. I was told I would be credit card debt free in 3yrs; here I am 40mos later, only 2 of my creditors are paid, I have a judgment file against me and just received a summons for garnishment from one of my creditors. My notes on my account with Option 1 Legal state Option One is in "litigation" with this creditor, but my creditor told me they have not heard from or had been notified at all from Option 1 that I am even apart of a debt consolidation company. To date, this company has charged me almost $7,100.00 in FEES!!!! That's more than 1/2 of what they have paid out to my creditors for me in the last 40mos. This amount is a few hundred dollars shy of HALF of what I have paid to them in the last 40mos. I do not know about anyone else, but most people cannot afford to loose that kind of money in "fees" if they are in debt consolidation. IF they hadn't charged so much money in fees, I would be where they claimed I would be; I would be about out of debt. Instead, I canceled with them and have a remaining debt of $7,000. I had to negotiate my own settlement, with the company they claimed they were litigating with, that has never heard from them, my own settlement; which, by the way, took me less than an hour. I will now spend another Year paying off debt that I had to negotiate my own settlements.
DO NOT enter into a contractual agreement with this company!!!! There are others out there accredited and apart of the BBB. Don't be a fool like me, do your research.
Read the fine print
I signed up September 2019 with 3 accounts. They got the 2 smaller accounts into settlement by March 2020. But the 3rd (largest account) has still not been settled by January 2023. The only way to actually be done with your program is to put additional money in above the monthly payment. They won't settle with creditors until they have at least half of the settlement agreement in your escrow. So I went in with 20K they settled for 70% of that because they waited so long to settle my last account that the amount owed went up 3K that I owe. So my final payments would be 20K. So they basically just took the money owed to the creditors and put it in their pockets. They saved me nothing! They get 2 stars for at least showing they can settle a debt. But I would not recommend them to anyone. Consumers would be better off trying to settle on your own/setup payments at a lower interest rate or just get a lawyer to help.

Option 1 Legal will steal your money and then lie to you
I signed up with Option 1 Legal, hoping that I would be able to settle my debts and get on with my life. I had 5 debts to be settled, roughly $16,000. They said they could settle for around 60% of that. I paid around 365 monthly for 36 months, right around 13,500.00. They settled 1 debt for around 3200.00 and paid partial of another. Where did all the other money go? I had one go to court and I had to settle it myself, they were no help. I had a guy Kevin, tell me he was going to give me back some of my money, sent me a settlement letter for 3,000.00. They said they received it and have never sent me that money. I am contacting a lawyer, this is not right. They prey on people and then pretty much steal and lie. You can never get ahold of them.

It's no secret that this has been worst…
It's no secret that this has been worst experience ever! However, this time I'm pulling my hair out. I have been trying to pay them for 3 months now and for some reason payments have not been taking out of my checking account which had lead me to be NEGATIVE! I have been calling them practically every 2 weeks and nothig, no help! Now one of my accounts is in Litigation! Everytime I call I hear the same thing over and over again. This is on their end, and the fact that I'm gonna probably be held responsible for such its FRUSTRATING!

I wish I could give this zero stars!! Note to anyone looking into this or anything like it: credit card companies DO NOT want you to do this. If you will call them, talk to someone and explain your situation they WILL work with you! After I signed up with Option 1 Legal the card companies started calling. Little did I know, they will deactivate the card, negotiate a balance and let you make payments without hurting your credit!! All this program was good for was stressing me out, destroying my credit, and they still made me deal with my creditors and settle my inroled debts because "they couldn't help me." DON'T DO IT!!
We thought Optoon 1 had our back
We thought Optoon 1 had our back, until they decided they didn’t. With one obscure notice from them we lost $16K to garnishment and still owe them. Don’t let them screw you over. They’re not to be trusted.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY
. I signed up for a 4 year program to resolve our $32,000 in credit card debt. We paid them $534 a month for over three years and they only resolved a fraction of credit card debt, all smaller accounts. You can do this on your own when you receive offers to resolve your debt for a fraction of the cost, Concentrating on one card at a time. This is not a law firm but they present as one. Calling the # provided to you, you don’t reach an attorney, It’s customer service reps with no customer service skills and no knowledge of your account. Merely, there to blow you off. When you sign documents and they do a presentation in your home they repeatedly tell you “this is your money” and “you have complete access”. This is not true. They don’t touch your accounts for the first 2.5 to 3 years. By that time you’ll have litigations, garnishments and added late fees. I discontinued and still have $22,000 in debt after paying them over $22,000. They collected $9000 in fees. I’m notifying the Bar Assoc., attorney general, etc to shut this scam company down.BEWARE!!

NOT WORTH A RATING…
It actually killed me to hit the 1 Star rating as this company deserves about a negative 50 rating in my book and needs to be SHUT DOWN ! Just like everyone else who has left comments on here I too have been one of the victims of total rip off as I am in a 42 month program mind you 37 months have passed and only 2 debts have been settled and there’s still 8 to go not to mention all of the fees I’ve had to pay “ outsiders “ that settled and not Option One! And you tell me how if in 37 months only 2 debts were settled how they’re gonna settle 8 more bents in 5 months! NOTHING BUT A HUGE SCAM TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH AS A MATTER OF FACT THEIR LAWYER WONT EVEN CALL ME BACK!!! RUN!!!!!!!!! I WANT MY $15,000 + BACK!!!!!!

This was definitely a huge mistake!!
This was definitely a huge mistake! Option 1 did nothing for us but have BOA sue me, option 1 didn't show up to none of the court dates and the end result is my 20% of my weekly pay is being garnished. Option one then told me I am better off trying to negotiate with them myself after they took hundreds in fees!! Do not trust in these people

Please read before working with them
In hindsight, I could have worked with my creditors myself to reach a negotiated settlement amount and saved myself over $7000 in fees paid to Option1Legal. Please read this before entering into a contract with them. I started my program on 5/28/2019 under the impression that I would be able to lower the amount needed to pay off my 4 credit cards, my cash flow at the time fluctuated and the minimum payments were really hard to keep up with. I was led to believe that in exchange for paying the stated monthly amounts, Option1Legal would arrange for legal representation to ensure that I would avoid legal action due to the harshly negative consequences it would have on my job as I am required to report such legal actions, something I made clear to Option1Legal before entering into a contract and was told would never happen. They charged me a $1000 attorney retainer, a 17% of total debt “service cost” and a $55/month legal admin fee for a total of $7,000+ during this time. Since they are not lawyers, there is literally nothing to do besides have a negotiator reach out to each credit card company and the cost of maintaining their website and subsequent escrow account fees. Absolutely outrageous and unproportionate fees for the services actually rendered. Here is an order of events, first card had a settlement offer in 2/2020 (9 months after we started), second card had an offer in 8/2020 (15 months after), the third card had a settlement offer in 8/2021 (27 months after), and the fourth card I received a litigation summons (33 months after). I uploaded the summons to their website and followed up with them relentlessly to ensure I would be able to get help from them before the response was due and I would default on the judgement (again, the absolute worst outcome for me as I had made them aware of this with the implications of my career). I was told repeatedly that I needed to keep waiting for them to basically shop out to local attorneys and allow them up to a week to respond to see if they wanted to take my case or not. I spoke with a manager then who understood how unacceptable it was for their reps to give me the wrong information each time I called. Basically on the last day I was allowed to give the court a response which was 30 days after I made Option1Legal aware of the summons, I was told there was nothing Option1Legal could do at that time. I actually went out on my own and got a lawyer to help me resolve the issue which took her 2 business days. I paid for an attorney through Option1Legal and never got a lawyer to help me which I was told the retainer is a non-refundable fee. My lawyer’s fee was considerably less than the total fees I paid to Option1Legal which does NOT employ any attorneys and can’t even operate in that space. I am besides myself knowing that I could have either negotiated myself or hired an attorney and saved myself money that could have been used to pay off my credit cards. Also, now that I am seeking to terminate my relationship with Option1Legal I had instructed them to remove my last credit card and stop all drafts…they still drafted out of my bank account this month after I went on a recording to inform them to stop. I just got off the phone with them and all that was offered to me was a “sorry I guess the rep never put the request in”. I also requested a refund of fees paid and services never rendered…I was never notified of any action so I requested again….and never heard anything again. This is my third time around requesting a refund of the service cost fees and legal admin fees. Please do yourself a favor and seek out an actual licensed attorney to get help on any sort of debt relief strategies, and do not work with Option1Legal. My customer ID is 1002841084
