Terrible Experience – Dishonest and Unresponsive

I returned my AC unit to Ontario Smart Energy back in February and was told I’d receive a full refund in 2–4 weeks. It’s now been over 11 weeks, and only after I followed up did they admit there was an accounting error. Instead of taking accountability, they informed me—without warning—that due to a "policy change," I would now receive my refund in monthly installments over 7 months. Absolutely unacceptable.

I’ve had to constantly chase them for every rebate, including the OSE bill credit and equipment return rebate. They refuse to speak on the phone, ignore emails where I express frustration, and show zero concern for their own mistake. Now I have to wait another 2–4 weeks (again) just to see if the first payment even goes through, and hope the rest will follow.

This company is disorganized, evasive, and treats customers with disregard. Avoid them at all costs.

This company is scam. They promised as a rebate and until now they don't give as the rebate. Then I called them telling me not I'm not qualified for rebate and 2 buy out they promised they dont pay for it. Don't even think about try this company they all SCAM with they agent and costumer service is SCAM

Ontario Smart Energy is nothing but a scam! They entice you with rebates, but after a year, you receive an email from Vault Pay Loan with a high interest rate that you were not aware of initially.

Although OSE claims that its operations are independent from Vault, it is evident that Vault is assisting them in making sales. This is a scam! Do not sign anything!

It was very quick and easy to apply on line.

FRAUD COMPANY, there is no rebate, they give you a loan with a interest rate over %12 after a few months. They are a private company and don't work with the Ontario rebates or the government. RUN AWAY NOW!

At this point nothing yet & they need to remove the federal carbon charge from my bill.
Or I will take this to the Prime Minister Mark Carney.

I can't answer this question yet. I just filled out a survey ..... how can I have any experience yet???

I was not provided with what my protection plan included in writing. Find cost extreme for new equipment, when installation was waived. Other HVAC contractor quoted that I over paid by approximately $7000.00 with Ontario Smart Energy. Not BBB credited company. Beware!

The survey was quick and easy. I can’t comment yet on the experience until I see what I’m qualified for. Would love to be considered. A door and windows need replacing but we are unable to afford.

Fast and easy.

After my initial one star review regarding being scammed into purchasing equipment I cannot afford with the promise of receiving a rebate which I planned on using to cover my payments, I was contacted by their customer service team (see reply to my earlier review). Again, with the promise to help me apply for the rebate as the link they sent is only for companies registered with Enbridge (OSE is not one of those companies). I have now been waiting for 3 weeks and have followed up with no reply. They will be apologetic when you complain but then ignore you.

So far been very pleased with the service of Enbridge. Keep up the great work!

This process has been ease to enter but have no results yet to see if it is worth the effort. It seems a bit early to be asking for feedback when we haven’t done anything but send off our name and address.

A gentleman named “Victor Henrich” Energy Management Consultant working for Ontario Energy Rebate his badge
No. 1092 sold me a cold climate heat pump. Which I emailed a deposit of $565.00 which was emailed to the address at the top of this email. As it turns out I already have a cold climate heat pump installed already Through the Canada Greener Homes Grant. Grant reference number is AP171402. As I told Victor in a text message that I called my A/C guy works for Able Air Conditioning
Here in Kitchener phone 519-954-7300.
He said I already have Cold Climate Heat Pump installed 06/07/2022. And this pump is not required. Please be kind cancel the application and refund my deposit of $565.00.
