It worked
It ran to time. Everybody made sure I understood what was happening and was comfortable. Operation worked. I can now see without glasses/lenses - last time this happened was when I was about 7 years old
Only small criticism if BP taken only once, I think less than a minute after I had sat down (just before op). This is unlikely to be accurate.

Stress-free enhanced bilateral cataract surgery
Highly qualified specialist consultations, clear guidance on appropriate treatments, kept well-informed throughout the process, superb care on the day of surgery that allayed any anxiety about the procedure, and great aftercare guidance. If you are considering cataract surgery, I highly recommend Mr Romesh Angunawela. I had bilateral multifocal lens replacements, including a toric len in my right eye to correct astigmatism. One week on and it is wonderful to live life without reading glasses and to see distant objects clearly. Delighted!

EVO ICL Surgery
After a lot of research, I decided to travel from Scotland to see Dr Allon Barsam at OCL Vision. I initially wanted to see if laser eye surgery was an option, but after a thorough assessment, I was advised it wasn’t suitable due to my thin corneas and high prescription. EVO ICL surgery was recommended instead, and I really appreciated the honest, clear advice. I had lots of questions, and Dr Allon took the time to answer them all thoroughly.
I had my EVO ICL surgery in November 2025, and it has made a huge difference to my everyday life. I was very nervous beforehand, but from my first appointment onwards, everyone was kind, patient, and genuinely reassuring. Nothing felt rushed, and everything was explained clearly.
The procedure was smooth and painless, and my recovery was very quick. Dr Allon personally called me the next day to check how I was doing, which really stood out. My follow-up appointments have been thorough and reassuring.
My vision is now excellent, and as someone with an active lifestyle, the freedom from glasses and contact lenses has been incredible. Huge thanks to Dr Allon Barsam and the entire OCL Vision team - I couldn’t recommend them enough to anyone considering vision correction.

Follow up visits get expensive
RLE Surgery, in June 2024.
Overall this it was OK and it should be because at £9000 it’s already expensive, plus follow up visits additional cost, I have spent an additional £1200 on follow visits. They do a poor job at explaining side effects (what to expect) and even worse at outlining almost guaranteed future cost. Anything that needs follow on treatment is on your account and prices are high.

I chose to have private cataract…
I chose to have private cataract surgery with OCL Vision, as the monofocal option offered by the NHS was too limited for my lifestyle. I was extremely apprehensive, but the whole customer journey, from initial eye tests, consultation and the surgery itself, was very reassuring. The procedure was unexpectedly comfortable and painless, and now I have my vision back. I've not been able to see this well in years. Highly recommended.

I had LASIK surgery with Allon Barsam…
I had LASIK surgery with Allon Barsam yesterday, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My vision feels unbelievably clear, almost like seeing through the eyes of a superhero.
Allon guided me through every step of the procedure as it was happening, which made the entire experience feel calm, safe, and reassuring. The surgery was genuinely painless; there was one brief moment of discomfort that lasted no more than 10 seconds, and he calmly counted down the seconds so I knew exactly what to expect.
My eyes stung a little afterwards, but after a short nap I woke up feeling completely fine.
If you’re considering laser eye surgery, I can’t recommend it highly enough. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Laser eye surgery I have wanted to get done for years finally done!
Super happy - Credible surgeon, and great support staff , with lots of useful and helpful advise, pre and post surgery ( e.g. keeping eyes closed as much as possible straight after surgery, as resting, napping, helps, especially, for the first 24 hours post surgery ) to make surgery day go smoothly and plenty of checks and aftercare to ensure great eye health and vision post surgery too.
So amazing to be able to see clearly upon waking up ( If eyes feel dry, not as clear for a few moments upon waking, using eye drops helps restore clarity )
