Unfortunately, after only two uses, the shorts suffered a significant tear in the fabric. The material ripped along the seam when I simply sat down at a table during lunch. The shorts were not subjected to any unusual strain, sports activity, or misuse.

Given the premium price of the product, I am extremely disappointed by the quality and durability of the garment. I would not expect swim shorts at this price point to fail after only a few days of normal wear.

No one reviewed my case, or advised on a suitable solution, whether that be a replacement, repair, or refund.

DO NOT BUY! I WISH I'D READ THE REVIEWS FIRST!

Unfortunately I ordered before having read the reviews. I can honestly say I love the shirt but this company is not fit to sell online. I ordered 2 shirts of different sizes so that I could ensure I got the right fit. With any other online retailer this is fine, however with OAS there is £20.00 return charge (the shirt itself was £140).

Worse still they use UPS in the UK, a courier that requires print, and offers very little coverage compared to other providers.

If they can sort their delivery & returns practices then I would definitely buy again, but until then I will never repurchase another item. Sad really, as the product and brand has the potential to be great.

Unethical Returns Policy

OAS have the most intentionally strict, expensive and needlessly complicated returns process as a way to mitigate as many returns as possible.

They’ve added so much friction, like requiring you to print out a bunch of invoices at home, put them in clear plastic wallets and attach them on the outside of the package (NOT THE INSIDE!) they say. You need you to print off your own UPS label at home, organise your own UPS pick up yourself and pay £20 for the privilege. You also need to make sure the clothing is in its original plastic bag, as if that matters? With all the little plastic clips that holds the clothes together when folded.

And if you fail any of these, your return is void.

Also be aware they changed their return window from 28 days to 14 days. It’s clear from reviews and the type of garments they sell, people are purchasing them just before they go on holidays/vacations so this return window is intentionally small, making it incredibly difficult to return on time.

This all must be skirting consumer rights laws. It’s an absolute joke.

I’m honestly shocked by some of the…

I’m honestly shocked by some of the reviews on these shorts because my experience was the complete opposite. I saw comments about them being poorly made or having a mesh inner lining, but that was not the case at all.
The Penny Green shorts are fantastic. The color is great, the length is exactly as described on the website, and the quality feels excellent. They’re really well made and look great styled with white Common Projects, black Chucks, or even khaki loafers.

Delivery was also surprisingly quick, especially for an international order. Overall, I’m really impressed — this definitely won’t be my last purchase from this company.

£20 return and poor quality

Ordered 3 swim shorts returned 2 - designs are nice but quality is poor and charge £20 to return. Could be a great business if they sorted out their return policy and improved the quality.

This company is fraudulent

This company is fraudulent. They have designed a system to ensure that customers cannot return products. Assuming you meet their strict return policy (i.e. not removing clothing from plastic bag to try on), they deduct roughly +$25 per order.

Also, it's clear they have a strong photographer in house because the products are very different quality/fit once you receive.

I ordered a birthday shirt for my…

I ordered a birthday shirt for my husband well in advance and paid €7 for UPS delivery. Unfortunately, the package arrived late and was never delivered to my home address. Communication throughout the process was poor.

While the product quality was acceptable, the late delivery defeated the purpose of ordering in advance for a birthday gift. When I attempted to exchange the item, I was told it had to be for the same product in a different size only. Instead, I decided to order a different, more expensive item and return the original.

Despite their mistake, they retained €12 of my money…

The overall experience felt sloppy and unprofessional.

I'm willing to give them one more chance, but based on this experience, I probably won't order from them again.

Bought linen long pants

Bought linen long pants, the quality and fit of the pants are great. To avoid any disappoint you just have to study the size guide properly.
Delivery was quick. Overall I’m very pleased 👍

They can’t deliver to Canada - and you shouldn’t try

Have been trying to place an order for a month. When you get through putting all your info in it displays the Provinces - but won’t accept them.
Several emails from CSR saying they’ll get their techies on it… They suggested putting another “state” in and changing it later. Totally dumb…
A month later, their prices have gone up, but I still can’t order.
They are incredibly stupid people… probably just as well that I can’t order…

July 31, 2025 Letter I wrote after I posted this review and company responded below, and by email…

“I wrote your customer service 5 times from June 2 to July 4. You wrote back saying the problem was being corrected on July 4 - but only after I posted a review of the service on Trust Pilot on June 29.

When I went to look at purchasing the items, the prices had all gone up by a little over 20% in USD and about 30% in $CDN.

So I read some other reviews and found your customer service ranked much as I had. The thought of shipping your product to Canada and finding that it matched your service level - has ended my interest in buying from you. That, and your return fees.

And I don’t want more run around by you Customer Excuses Team

Ordered a few things to be delivered in time for a holiday. Shipping date kept being pushed back without explanation and ultimately I won't receive the goods now. No response whatsoever from customer service. Another scam Instagram company that I'll have to go through my card provider to get a chargeback from. AVOID.

Brand with style!

Updated! I really want to connect with this brand - the style is great - I did have trouble getting messages about a return so the company reached out and helped me sort out. Sizing seems large but I am sure I’ll try again!
