There are first the 5 days for the urgent steps, then the first 28 days to notify the right people and organisations, then the following 6 months for probate, HMRC, estate valuation and the important paperwork. This is why we created the 5-28-6 Method: a simple way to prepare the practical and administrative tasks linked to an estate, before and after a loss. The kit helps you gather essential information in advance: documents, bank accounts, pensions, insurance policies, utilities, property details, contacts, funeral wishes, family information and details useful for an executor, solicitor or probate professional. You can fill it in directly on your computer, or print it and complete it by hand, then keep it in a folder with your important papers. Many families do both. My Estate Kit is a digital kit. After purchase, access is sent by email so you can start straight away. If anything is unclear, our email support team is happy to help. The aim is simple: no loved one left searching everywhere in a stressful moment, no missed step, no probate started without the right information.

While I appreciate that the company need to clearly communicate what the kit can help with, and what it does not do, the constant re-statement I found rather irritating, while appreciating the need for clarity and non- ambiguity,
It is most unfortunate that the original link to the kit contained an error, no doubt causing added stress for those of us who may not be very "tec savvy". Though that error was quickly clarified in response to my email question.

A truly efficient and logical Family Handover Kit
I was very happy and relieved to find such a useful service, the Family Handover Kit. I have been concerned about how one of us will cope when the other passes on. A friend has just been through a six month nightmarish experience when her husband passed, because of her lack of involvement in family finances. Trying to work out a useful system has been frustrating and laborious for me, and my husband has not wanted to engage. I showed him this kit and he was impressed and happy to fill in his section. It is a huge saving of time, effort and worry. Service is also prompt and excellent.

Last minute offers
Can't really review it, I'd researched and prevaricated until I finally decided to order the Family pack at £47. Got to the point of paying for it when I was given the option of buying, at a cut price if I ordered now, nine more packages for specific scenarios which I assumed would be comprehensively covered in the pack I was ordering. Made me doubt the value of the original pack. I didn't buy it.

We would like to clarify that the Family Pack is a complete, standalone product. It includes the essential documents, practical guidance and core tools needed to organise and pass on important family and estate information. Customers do not need to purchase anything else in order to use the pack properly or benefit from it fully.
The additional kits are offered separately at £9 each because they deal with very specific situations that are not relevant to every customer. They provide more detailed guidance on particular circumstances, rather than filling gaps in the main Family Pack.
They are entirely optional and are not required to make the original pack complete. Offering them separately also means that customers are not charged a higher price for specialist information they may never need.
We do understand that seeing an optional offer at the final stage may have created the impression that the original pack was incomplete or of lesser value. That was not our intention, and we are sorry that the presentation of the offer led you to that conclusion.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the way these optional £9 kits are explained so that future customers can clearly understand that the £47 Family Pack is comprehensive on its own.
