I recently visited mycar Seven Hills to have four new Kumho tyres fitted to my 2021 Nissan Qashqai. Their advertised offer was already the best value I had found, and an additional 20% discount made the overall deal exceptional value for money.

What impressed me even more, however, was the outstanding service and leadership demonstrated by the manager, Adam.

My vehicle was taken into the workshop exactly as scheduled. During my conversation with Adam, I explained that, because of my busy schedule, I was hoping the team might also be able to complete my scheduled service while the car was already there.

What happened next particularly impressed me. Adam paused briefly, checked the workshop schedule on his computer, considered the staffing and resources available that day, and within moments made a well-informed decision that allowed the team to accommodate my request.

It was a small moment, but it demonstrated something important about his leadership: the ability to quickly assess operational information, understand available resources, balance competing demands and make a practical decision that benefited both the customer and the business.

Adam also listened carefully when I explained my budget. Rather than simply reducing the quality of the service or cutting necessary work, he discussed the service requirements with me and considered what could appropriately be deferred after inspection without compromising essential maintenance. His practical and flexible approach reduced the immediate cost by approximately $150 while still ensuring that the important work was completed.

The vehicle was ready at the time Adam had promised.

Following the service, he clearly explained the additional maintenance and replacement items that had been identified. Importantly, he did not simply tell me what needed to be done. He explained, in straightforward and logical language, why each item was recommended, what its purpose was, and why it would be beneficial to attend to it within an appropriate timeframe. He also provided a clear quotation so that I could plan the next work properly.

Throughout every interaction, Adam communicated in a respectful, courteous and easy-to-understand manner. There was no unnecessary technical jargon or pressure—just clear information that allowed me, as the customer, to make an informed decision.

While waiting, I also had the opportunity to observe Adam dealing with other customers. The same professionalism, patience and customer-service approach were evident in those interactions as well. That consistency was particularly impressive.

In my experience, Adam demonstrated many of the qualities expected of an effective manager and leader: sound judgement, decisiveness, operational awareness, flexibility, resource management, commercial awareness, clear communication, reliability and genuine customer focus.

These are not merely qualities that create a pleasant customer experience. They are the qualities that help an organisation retain customers, build trust, manage resources efficiently and maintain a strong reputation.

My overall experience with mycar Seven Hills was excellent from beginning to end. I received high-quality service, excellent value for money and, most importantly, customer service backed by thoughtful and capable leadership.

Adam and the Seven Hills team have certainly earned my trust and future business. Highly recommended.

I found the service very good. I felt listened to, respected and very satisfied with both the advice and reception staff as well as the fitting and performance of the new tyres. Top marks.

Anthony provided clear and professional information at the time I made the booking and on completion. He was very polite and did not come up with any unwanted surprises. The service timing was as promised. My only recommendation is to expand the office space to allow room and facilities for professionals who may need working space whilst waiting for their car.
